Scripture is not just a good idea, what scriptures do is bring to life everything God is. They used to call the big coffee table Bibles 'The Living Bible' because it had life in it - it lived and breathed (because it was the word of God) and presented life and no other book can do that. It is as simple as learning to read.
Example; when you got 'saved' whatever that is to mean - what you really got was another person birthed in you. If you stay with scripture the way it is written and read it for yourself so you can follow weight of scripture that actually leads somewhere. You follow that.
Example; the living bible says to present yourself a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God. Now I understand your zeal to live a godly life but I also understand you can't do it. Many try but very few have mastered the master of flesh. It is kind of like faith have you been to the faith seminars. I have held a few through the year's. Point being you can have faith or you can do what Paul said and live by the faith of another - Christ in you faith - Galatians 2:20. When I found out there was another faith in me and I could live by it I was all in. You get wore out holding up your faith but living by the faith of the Son of God eases up the struggle. So now I simply live and Christ in me does the living, he is the life.
How does that work? I'm glad you asked :) it doesn't work as far as you making it work. It just simply is. Christ is. How do you know that? because that is what is written. He is the life he is the way he is the truth and you live by him. You have no other life and in that life is all the faith you will ever need. You cannot tell someone how to live it because it is lived as you are, Christ in you, coming out of you as your only life expression for living.
Sounds boring and religion will not have it, they need their workers to keep working and providing and doing what they do to grease the cogs to keep the wheels turning. Listen to the word; Satan is a hard task master and dupe's people into thinking they have to live for God - you don't need to know this Christ in you business you have to much to do to much to see to much life to live - go on and live out your dreams of how to be a good Christian. On and on it goes and those wheels never stop. Bless you.
