Hi brothers and sisters,
I’m looking to have my house repainted soon and would appreciate any advice or recommendations for finding a reliable, honest house painter.
As a Christian, I value integrity and good workmanship, and I’d love to support someone who shares our faith if possible.
What qualities should I look for in a painter? Have any of you had good (or bad) experiences you can share?
I’d also appreciate any prayers for wisdom in choosing the right person for the job.
Well I knew many such Painters working with them on houses over the years.
I do not know any good ones nowadays tho.
My house is timber highset and I wanted my good mate to Paint it, but he had a gammy hip, so could not do highset homes. this bloke is magic best Painter ever by far and a Master !
Many good Painters were around years ago. but now the majority are all idiots here. like with all so called Traides nowadays ! all just yobboes out for a quick buck and cut corners like wild fire.
Now what is it that you want done ? you have to talk to the Painter about exactly you want done, go back to timber ? or will going over the top be ok ? or maybe some spots need more preperation ?
You do not want peeling off in a few years ?
How long do you intend to live in the house ?
I think the most thing that painters get, is that most people who want a quick cheap job, to sell the house and move on. so Painter thinks that norm is the standared ? oh 5 years may last all good ! that's what they think is the standard ! seriously.
Just like some car engine rebuilders, they think nothing of getting a year out of engine is fine ? they just slap it together.
In Tiling the Tile shops demand 10 years for a bathroom is the standard max ! because No one wants an out of date bathroom they demand !
But to me a tiled bathroom should and could last for 100 years or more, that's my home and I do not care less what other people think at all !
I am not forking out on new Barthroom's every 10 years, or I would kill someone ? But nowadays the building standards code makes for crap quality non lasting bathrooms. The lowest denominator what is the Standards are set for in fact.
You know I was working with my brother for a year say untill i retired. and they young so called traides people, I would hear them talk ! and I would say to bro, what the ? this dude is not even good at his job ! but talks a lot of total pathetic nonsense, he is going to be a millionair and they claim they own X, Y, Z !
Thing is over all the years we have worked in our Trade, we have seen many of the worst idiots do get rich in fact ! because they just talk BS 24/7 !
Also they take drugs nowadays to work ! and it's all about smashing it out ! man ! they have no pride in themselves or work. and play every dirty trick in the book !
The One I go to do my home, threaten that he would get his wife to bash my wife ! but they were to gutless to take me on.
Got to the Paint shop is best and get one recomended by them ? or better still ask around and find a Painter that people were happy with ? and if you can see the work of such that has been done 5 years + on.
I found that Some of the Paint shops are good for nothing as well run by morons, just as it is with Tile shops etc etc.
Word of mouth can go a long way ! but even then some people think it's a good job, but it's not at all !
I have seen display homes that were shoddy build quallity, my wife and 2 girls were looking at such one day and they all were like blowen away by the houses ! but I was pointing out things that they did not see, they were blown away by how ! pointed such things out as bad workmanship, as they did not see it till I pointed such out.
