THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS, #5 OF THE SEVEN FEASTS OF ISRAEL AS INSTITUTED BY GOD THROUGH MOSES HIS SERVANT AT MOUNT SINAI. LEVITICUS 23 23 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,24 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.'" Thus the Feast of Trumpets began. Moses instituted this feast as the fifth of seven feasts. God introduced the Seven Feasts of Israel as the children of Israel were encamped at Mount Sinai. There, at that pivotal place, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob made covenant with a nation of two million souls. They had just left Egypt behind in an extraordinary exodus attended by many miracles. They had all passed through the waters of the Red Sea in a national baptism of sorts to emerge safely on the other side. This was a wonderful moment in holy history. There, at the foot of the Mount Sinai, God brought His righteous rule, His precepts, His Torah (or Law) to the nation of Israel. This was not just a national regal matter or an issue of cold legalism. YHVH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, was revealing Himself to His covenant people. His intent was to draw them into a relationship down at the grassroots of the nation that would show them the wonders of His essential character. God was introducing His covenant people to Himself. The Torah was not meant to be just a system of blood covenant national state rituals for an ancient people that this world wants to forget. Nor was it just a system of religious mores for legalistic finger wagging types. Nor was "the Law" to be just lofty ideals chiseled on stone tablets for government buildings and offices. The prophet Isaih saw the God of Israel commission His Servant for some far greater tasks than these and on a global scale. (Isa.49:6) The prophet Jeremiah prophesied that YHVH-God was leading His people on into a New Covenant. The days would come when His Word, His Torah, would be written on human hearts. (Jer.31:31-34) Right from the very beginning Torah was meant to bring God's people Israel into a very personal relationship with YHVH-God. The true foundation of the nation was to be a devotion and an obedience that would be established right down at the grassroots at the tribal, family, and personal level. And so what was God doing at Sinai? He was setting forth His grand agenda for the salvation, sanctification, and eventual glorification of all His covenant people. His grand Plan for the people He loved, and indeed for the whole world, was laid out in the Seven Feasts of Israel. (Lev.23) The Spring Feasts would see Messiah execute His Priestly role as High Priest of Almighty God. And the Fall Feasts would see Messiah come into His Kingdom as the King of Kings.

This ordination given to Isreal to observe all the Sabbaticals God intended is a remarkable study and definitley has great influence on the Modern Christians healthy walk of faith.Consider the three things that were to take place durring the "year of Jubile;"1. Personal liberty: all who were in servitude, were to be given thier liberty.2. Restitution of property: All the original owners of property, according to the allotments God put forth by tribes, were allowed to redeem their property, if they could not someone of their kin could.3. Rest: All were to rest from ALL labors, and durring this time were sanctified and made atonements for sin.If we recall the seventy years of captivity, exile, and the desolation of Jerusalem were a result of Israel not obeying these "sabbaths."Another thing to keep in mind that God ordained a sabbath every seventh day, every "seventh" month, every seventh year, and the year of jubile which was every 50th year. All these were given to be observed while in the possession, the land God gave the Children of Israel.*note, read the account of Nehemiah, all that was rebuilt was again was "sanctified" and all the people as well, and atonement was made when they returned to their "possession."QUOTE
Le 26:33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.Le 26:34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.Le 26:35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
God blees and keep you,General-
