God calls all of us to dwell in His presence. But before we can dwell in His presence we have to be cleansed from sin. Adam and Eve dwelled in the presence of God in the Garden of Eden but due to their sin all of us were banished from the presence of God. God implemented the law to try to reconcile man to Him temporarily until it was the right time to send Jesus the Christ to be the final sacrfice for sin and to redeem all mankind and reconcile man to God and release the presence of God.

1. Outer Court- Consist of believers who are saved by the blood of Jesus the High Priest yet live lives full of sin and minimal commitment to God. They enter the temple once a week to offer external praise and worship to Him yet do not see or know the glory of the LORD.

2.Altar of Sacrifice- Consist of believers who have decided to move from the Outer Court onto the Altar of Sacrifice. Here God literally kills the inner man and destroys the old sinful nature of the believer. All sacrifices had to be killed before they were offered to God.

3.Burning of the Sacrifice- Consist of believers who have had their inner man killed by God and are undergoing God's sanctification plan. Here God burns up the sin and sinful nature of the believer and makes them into the precious gold and new man that He has for them.

4. Inner Court- Consist of believers who have been sanctified and are walking in the new man of Christ. They have entered the Inner Court of the temple and praise, worship and serve God in a heart of devotion and greater commitment.

5.Holy Place- Consist of believers who have matured through years of service and have matured in faith and holiness before God. Yet they still only see shimmers of God's glory through the Veil.

6. The Veil- Believers get to this point and decide to accept Jesus the High Priest sacrifice that tore the veil and released the presence of the LORD.

7. The Holy of Holies, The Most Holy Place- The belivers has total trust in God and walks under the power and anointing of God. They see the presnce of God in its fullness. They are considered holy and sacred unto God by Jesus the High priest.

19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
Col 1:19-22 (NLT)

Interesting post, Ian! An interesting way of putting it. :)

We are to present ourselves as living sacrifices in all things, that we might be brought to maturity, and are called to strive to enter his rest, and attain the full stature of Christ.

Whatever way it be said, this needs to be understood today. So much of our christianity is apathetic to holiness, striving, and obedience. We have been lulled to sleep by a message that replaces sacrificial living and love of the brethren with assurance of eternal life in the midst of comfortable living and independance of walk, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness.
