As christians, we are suppose to obey Yahweh commandments and obey his instructions, and do not follow the patterns of the world. So my question is that, as Christians, are we supposed to observe Yahweh holy days?

Hello shinethelight,

welcome to the community!

Is not every day a Yahweh Holy Day for those that have entered His rest?

Saint of the Day - Calendar of Saints - Vatican News

Peace be with you!

Hello! Well actaully no. Because the holy day is suppose to be on exact appointed time. We cannot pick and choose what day and time of the year to observe the holy day, because that is why it is called APPOINTED TIME by Yahweh. If you want to choose a day and time in the year, it would not be biblical

We cannot pick and choose what day and time of the year to observe the holy day,

Can we not?

For) one person considers one day more important than another, while another person considers all days alike. Let everyone be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Whoever observes the day, observes it for the Lord. Also whoever eats, eats for the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; while whoever abstains, abstains for the Lord and gives thanks to God
.

Is there anythong to keep us from observing every day? Of giving thanks for, celebrating and offering every day, ourselves to our awesome God?

Peace!

So this verse you mention is taken from Romans 14. If you read deeper, it has to do with fasting, not an observance of a holy day. People would come together in a week to fast, they would argue that they should be fasting together on same days, there is no biblical command in old testament to do so except for Yom Kippur. If you want to fast one day, that is fine or you want to fast on other day, that is fine as well. Again, you can't pick and choose what day to choose to observe a holy day. There just no biblical command to do so. There is no evidence that the apostles and the early choose choose a different time to observe a holy day

Hello shine,

Does one require a command to observe the day?

Now is the time
Today is the Day of Salvation

Let us be glad and rejoice in it!

Peace be with you!

Christ is risen!
Alleluia!

Did you know that in the kingdom to come, all the nations will be required to go Jerusalem, once a year and worship the king, and celebrate the feast of the tabernacles according to Zech 14?

Zec 14:17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Every day is Holy and unto God for those who love Him, one day is never enough. And that day was not ours as @Philip James put it we rest in Christ, but so few will... for to be at rest in Christ one must be in Christ.

We are not Jewish, that stuff was for the Jews not us

According to the scriptures Jesus himself celebrated festivals of remembering the Israelite's journey out of captivity in Egypt, so I think it is right for us to carry on that tradition and celebrate the events in his life that give us new life. The events that brought us out of captivity to sin and brought us out of darkness into life.

Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

According verse 4 above, it shows that Yahweh's feasts should be proclaim at their appointed time. So that means, we cannot make every day a holy day because it would not be biblical and it would not make since at all. We think it would sound nice to us, but according to Yahweh, it is not so.

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

In verse 2, Yahweh says to moses,"Speak to the children of Israel". Are the children children of Israel only the jews, the tribe of judah? According to the scriptures, the answer is no. The children of Israel are all the 12 tribes of Israel, the sons of Israel.

Are the feasts are only for the Israelites? Certainly not! According to Exodus 12:19 it says, "Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land."

It is for both for the native born and the stranger of the land! It is pretty clear!

Are the feasts temporarily or forever? According the scripture, it is FOREVER!

In Exodus 12:14 it says, "And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever."

It is seems pretty clear right? So it is for both native born and strangers forever!

Can you show me where in the old testament that say, the holy days were only commanded to jews, the tribe of judah?

The whole OT take your pick. St. Paul never cared for judaizers like you. As a Christian I am not under any Jewish law or rituals nor do we live by the OT. Live by the OT if you want but don't ever claim the Christian name

Dear shinethelight,

Al these things were but shadows, the fulfillment is found in Christ.

You too! Are welcome to come to the wedding feast of the Lamb of God!

Peace be with you!

How do you justify colossians 2:16 and 17?
first thanks for the reply, second, Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
Colossians 2:10 "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:"
