So here's a topic for those that are staying updated and following Israeli news closely.
So what is really happening between Trump/Israel/UAE/Bahrain?
Are they peace deals? Are they newly formed alliances? Or is Israel expanding it's boundaries?
And
Is there a Biblical significance of these events? Are there any prophecies being fulfilled with these current events involving Israel?
I figured Bahrain feels threatened by Iran and wants to buy military equipment from the US. Israel would accuse the US of arming its enemies. It would cause a rift in relations between the US and Israel. So Trump probably told Bahrain they could get the military stuff they wanted if they signed a deal with Israel. Suspecting that, I did a google search.
Trump announces Israel and Bahrain will normalize relations
Trump has delegated Middle East peace negotiations to his son and adviser, Jared Kushner. In a briefing with reporters on Friday, Kushner did not answer questions about whether Israel had made concessions to win the deal, nor did he say whether the U.S. had agreed to push through new arms sales to Bahrain or provide other assistance to the kingdom.
"This deal was a great breakthrough for them and for their people," Kushner said in sidestepping those issues.
After the White House unveiled the UAE deal, questions emerged about whether the Trump administration had agreed to sell that country F-35 fighter jets as part of the agreement.
Last month, the UAE’s minister of state for foreign affairs, H.E. Anwar Gargash, confirmed UAE is pursuing a deal on the F-35s with the Trump administration. But he said it’s been a longstanding request and sidestepped questions about whether it was part of the Israel-UAE peace deal.
During a forum hosted by the Atlantic Council, Gargash said an F-35 deal is “on the table” and noted the UAE had first requested those planes six years ago. He said the peace deal should eliminate concerns that the UAE represents a military threat to Israel and thus should pave the way for an F-35 sale to go through.
“We ought to get them,” he said, particularly now that “the whole idea of a state of belligerency or war” with Israel no longer exists.
When pressed on possible arms sales to Bahrain, Kushner said many details of the agreement would be hashed out in the coming weeks.
Iran is already paranoid. Its allies are too. Hezbollah condemned the deal between Bahrain and Israel. I don't see this as leading to much peace. I see it as increasing tensions. Trump doesn't seem to understand the carrot and stick approach. He's uses too many sticks with Iran and not enough carrots. Putting an anti-Iran coalition in the area and selling arms might make sense if Iran saw potential rewards if it stopped meddling with its neighbors, stopped funding terrorism and so on. I think tension in the region declined when the US and EU made the deal with Iran; but Trump hated that deal because Obama was involved in it. I think Trump could have built on top of that agreement -- telling Iran if they behaved well, the world would reward them for it.
The way this is going could easily make Iran feel they have no option but to take drastic action when they see their neighbors ganging up on them with the US arming them. Don't be surprised to see an increase in terrorism. Iran really doesn't have a strong enough military to take on the US along with Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain. That means they will be tempted to resort to more funding of terrorism.
I don't see any Biblical significance in it. It looks like more of the same old thing -- the same chaos in the Middle East. It probably makes Israelis feel a little less threatened, but it could be making things worse. They say peace and safety . . . and then sudden destruction. It's a pattern in history. It may happen now, but I'm not sure it will be the final time for it.
