Everyone loves a story. And if that story involves super strength, flight, colorful costumes and laser eyes...everyone loves it even more! The 1930's were the Golden Age of comics books, and ever since then superheroes have been a part of our culture. Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Captain America, Spiderman, etc. For years people have read about these heroes, they've come to identify with them and love them. But what can they tell us about ourselves?

Fetish for sexually revealing clothing (google: spandex fetish - seen enough just in the listing?)
Homosexual attraction & life style (ie: Batman & Robin).
Easy answers for tough questions and situations (let super-guy do it).
Escapist head-in-the-sand attitudes substituting for roll-your-sleeves-up-work (ie: the term couch potatoe).
Artifical worldly substitutes for Jesus Christ - a real saviour (printer's ink instead of messiah's blood)

NO SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY

The world is looking for a saviour who exemplifies everything that each individual has wanted, desired, dreamed, etc. They want someone who can fix the problems of the world quickly and with a stage presence. One who comes and fixes then leaves. No one to change the individual! They do not want Jesus Chrsit who demands something of them after he saves them. No that is to much responsibilty they want it quick! These attitudes I feel will usher in the coming of the Anti Christ. The church needs to be ever present preaching, evangelizing, mission work, living and witnessing of the saving power of Jesus Christ for he alone is the superhero of the world and of our souls! People are desperate for a saviour, for someone bigger than them, for a "god" like person. It started with Adam and Eve and is continuing today! But we need to proclaim that Jesus Christ our saviour is the only way to God and that he loves, cares and wants to save them! No cape but a shawl around his waist, no mask but a crown of thorns, no fake super strength put power in his holy life, no super human powers but power in the word of God which he spoke, no lavish car or layer but a cross covered in his blood! Jesus provides the bread of life unto all men and all of men can eat of him and be saved by this hero which is Jesus the Christ, Cristo, Messiah and Anointed One!

Yeah, now they're trying to plant the idea that each of us can become our own hero by developing psychic powers, becoming god-like.

I sometimes wonder just how deep a working our Lord Jesus was giving for the end of days when He warned it would be like the days of Noah, when 'they' were eating and drinking, giving and taking in marriage? Per Gen.6, the ones doing the marrying were the fallen angels taking wives of the flesh daughters of men.

I think we will find out that the daughters were not always willing participants but were raped by the Son of God.

Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took (H3947) them wives of all which they chose. (H977)

Hi All,

I do not normally follow how various fiction is manifest in society, -- typical of how Orson Wells' "War of the Worlds" caught the nation's pre-WWII jitters in that famous broadcast --, but I do know that some expressions have underlying truths which are often missed.

Specifically, consider the "peace" signs, -- either two outstretched fingers, or the circular image; or consider how "Superman" lives in "Metropolis". In the former example both technology and symbolism are evident. In the latter example, the world perceives the global significance of "Metropolis", but the church is ignorant. of the significance.
