This is real Glenn Beck show has devoted this whole week to this subject(cnn)................Mass Slaughter In Our Schools: The Terrorists' Chilling Plan?By Chuck RemsbergSenior PoliceOne ContributorPart 1 of 3 Probably the last place you want to think of terrorists striking is your kids' school. But according to two trainers at an anti-terrorism conference on the East Coast, preparations for attacks on American schools that will bring rivers of blood and staggering body counts are well underway in Islamic terrorist camps. The intended attackers have bluntly warned us they're going to do it. They're already begun testing school-related targets here. They've given us a catastrophic model to train against, which we've largely ignored and they've learned more deadly tactics from. "We don't know for sure what they will do. No one knows the future. But by definition, a successful attack is one we are not ready for," declared one of the instructors, Lt. Col. Dave Grossman. Our schools fit that description to a "T"-as in Terrorism and Threat.Grossman, the popular law enforcement motivational speaker, and Todd Rassa, a trainer with the SigArms Academy and an advisory board member for The Police Marksman magazine, shared a full day's agenda on the danger to U.S. schools at a recent three-day conference on terrorist issues, sponsored by the International Assn. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) in Atlantic City. They reminded the audience that patrol officers, including perhaps some with their own children involved, will inevitably be the first responders when terrorists hit. And they documented chilling descriptions of the life-or-death challenges that likely will be faced. In Part 1 of this three-part report on highlights of their presentations we focus on what's known about the threat to our schools to date, why terrorists have selected them as targets, and what tactics you're likely to be up against in responding to a sudden strike. In Parts 2 and 3, we'll explore Grossman's and Rassa's recommendations for practical measures you and your agency can take now to get ready, including some defensive actions that don't require any budget allocations. Why schools? Two reasons:1. Our values. "The most sacred thing to us is our children, our babies," Rassa said. Killing hundreds of them at a time would significantly "boost Islamic morale and lower that of the enemy" (us). In Grossman's words, terrorists see this effort as "an attempt to defile our nation" by leaving it "stunned to its soul."2. Our lack of preparation. Police agencies "aren't used to this," Rassa said. "We deal with acts of a criminal nature. This is an act of war," but because of our laws "we can't depend on the military to help us," at least at the outset.Indeed, Grossman claimed, "the U.S. in the one nation in the world where the military is not the first line of defense against domestic terrorist attacks. By law, you the police officer are our Delta Force. It is your job to go in, while in most other nations cops will wait for the military to come save their kids."School personnel, Rassa said, "are not even close" to being either mentally or physically prepared. "Most don't even have response plans for handling a single active shooter. Their world is taught to nurture and care for people. They don't want to deal with this."The American public, "sticking their heads in the sand, can't be mentally prepared," he said. "They're going to freak when it happens," their stubborn denial making the crisis "all the more shocking."Noting that "sheep have two speeds: 'graze' and 'stampede,'" Grossman predicted that "not a parent in the nation will send their kids to school the next day"-perhaps for many days-after a large-scale terrorist massacre. If day-care centers-"also on the terrorists' list"-are hit as well, "parents will drop out of the work force" en masse to protect their children and "our economy will be devastated."How we know they're coming.Al-Qaeda has publicly asserted the "right" to kill 2,000,000 American children, Rassa explained, and has warned that "operations are in stages of preparation" now. He played vivid videotapes confiscated in Afghanistan, showing al-Qaeda terrorists practicing the takeover of a school. The trainees issue commands in English, rehearse separating youngsters into manageable groups and meeting any resistance with violence. Some "hostages" are taken to the rooftop, dangled over the edge, then "shot.""Any place that has given [Islamic terrorists] trouble, they've come after the kids," Grossman said. Muslim religious literature, according to Rassa, states clearly that the killing of children not only is "permitted" in Islam but is "approved" by Mohammed, so long as the perpetrators "are striving for the general good" as interpreted by that religion. He cited instances in Indonesia where girls on their way to school have been beheaded and in other countries where children have been shot, mutilated, raped or burned alive. In this country this year ['06], Rassa said, there have been several school bus-related incidents involving Middle Eastern males that raise suspicion of terrorist activity. These include the surprise boarding of a school bus in Florida by two men in trench coats, who may have been on a canvassing mission, and the attempt in New York State by an Arab male to obtain a job as a school bus driver using fraudulent Social Security documents. The latter gave an address in Detroit, home to a large colony of fundamentalist Muslims.Rassa claimed that floor plans for half a dozen schools in Virginia, Texas and New Jersey have been recovered from terrorist hands in Iraq. The terrorists' tactical model.A "dress rehearsal for what terrorists plan to do to us" has already taken place, Rassa and Grossman agreed. That was the brutal takedown in 2004 of a school that served children from 6 to 17 years old in Beslan, Russia. Some 100 terrorists were involved, nearly half of whom were discreetly embedded in the large crowd of parents, staff and kids who showed up for the first day of school; the rest arrived for the surprise attack in SUVs, troop carriers and big sedans. Across a three-day siege, 700 people were wounded and 338 killed, including 172 youngsters. If a similar assault were launched against a school in your jurisdiction, how would you and your agency respond? Consider this modest sampling of challenges that were deliberately planned or arose from the ensuing chaos at Beslan, as outlined by Rassa:The school was chosen because it was one of the taller buildings in the area and had a very complicated floor plan, making a rapid and effective counter-assault by responders extremely difficult. Offender weaponry included AK-47s, sniper rifles, RPGs and explosives, with everything the terrorists needed carried in on their backs. RPGs were fired at a responding military helicopter and at troops.More than 1,000 men, women and children, including babies, were penned in an unventilated gym and a cafeteria. As the days passed without food or water and inside temperatures rose to 115 degrees, survivors were eating flowers they'd brought for teachers and fighting for urine to drink out of their shoes in desperation. Women and some children were repeatedly and continuously raped.* Adult males and larger male students were used as "forced labor" to help fortify the building, then shot to death. Bodies were thrown out of an upper-story window, down onto a courtyard. Attempts at negotiation by responders were used by the terrorists strictly as an opportunity to buy time to solidify their fortifications.Surviving hostages were surrounded by armed guards standing on deadman switches, wired to explosives. All entrances to the building as well as stairwells and some interior doorways were booby-trapped. Youngsters were forced to sit on window sills to serve as shields for snipers. "Black widows" (potential suicide bombers) were rigged so their bomb belts could be detonated by remote control when leaders considered the timing was right. The terrorists stayed cranked up on some type of amphetamine to keep awake.Armed, outraged parents and other civilians, some of them drunk, showed up and started "rolling gunfights" outside in a futile effort to defeat the takeover. The crowd identified one embedded terrorist and "literally ripped him apart." The media was everywhere, unrestrained. So many people were milling around that responders often could not establish a clear field of fire. When troops finally stormed the school in a counter-assault on the third day, "pure pandemonium" reigned. Soldiers and the kids they were trying to rescue were gunned down mercilessly. Explosions touched off inside started multiple fires.Responders who made it inside had to jump over trip wires as they "ran" up stairs under fire from above. By then terrorists were holding hostages in virtually every room. Rescue teams were subjected to continual ambushes. Gunfights occurred predominately within a 6-ft. range, with some responders having to fight for their lives in places so cramped they couldn't get off their hands and knees. Some children successfully rescued from the building were so crazed by thirst that they ran to an outdoor spigot and were killed by a grenade as they filled their hands with water.Terrorists who escaped during the melee ran to homes of embedded sympathizers who hid them successfully and were not immediately suspected because they were considered "non-strangers" in the community. Some townspeople who volunteered to help as stretcher bearers for the injured were, in fact, embedded terrorists.During the siege "at least four people or agencies claimed to be in charge. Actually, no one was in charge and no one wanted to be." "Osama bin Laden has promised that what has happened in Russia will happen to us many times over," Grossman warned. "And Osama tries very hard never to lie to us."What's likely here.Probably not so many terrorists involved at a single location. Moving that big a contingent into place would likely attract too much attention and thwart the attack. Grossman describes a more likely possibility, in his opinion:Terrorist cells of four operatives each might strike simultaneously at four different schools. They may pick elementary schools, or middle schools with no police officers on site, where the girls are "old enough to rape" but students are not big enough to fight back effectively. The targets may be in states "with no concealed-carry laws and no hunting culture" and in communities where "police do not have rifles." Rural areas could be favored, where 30 minutes or more might be required for responders to arrive in force. The attackers will probably "mow down every kid and teacher they see" as they move in to seize the school. They may plant bombs throughout the buildings, and "rape, murder and throw out bodies like they did in Russia." Emergency vehicles responding and children fleeing will be blown up by car bombs in the parking lot.In all, 100 to 300 children could be slaughtered in a first strike.Terrorists capable of this are already embedded in communities "all over America," Grossman and Rassa agreed. More will probably gain entry surreptitiously from Mexico, making southern California potentially a prime target. No time for despair. It's a grim picture, for certain. "But if we think there's nothing we can do to prepare, that is a defeatist mentality," Rassa said. "We ought to be trying. If we're not trying, we're failing. We may as well give up our guns and surrender now."I can't think of a better thing to train up for than protecting our kids. If we try but fall short, look at how much else we'll still be able to handle than we can now."What made most of us do active-shooter training? The killings at Columbine. Are we going to wait for something far worse than that before we do the most that we can to stop the terrorists who are coming for our schools?" August 28, 2007By Jeff McShan / 11 NewsKHOUHouston Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Division, the FBI and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are all concerned about a large number of school buses that have been stolen in the Houston area over the last several months. An 11 News investigation uncovered that 17 large, yellow school buses were stolen recently from various charter schools, business schools and private bus companies. Not one has disappeared from HISD.Most, if not all, were taken from locations on Houston’s north side. One off west Tidwell, another from the Lopez bus company off Melrose and Berry Street.Timothy Williams is the superintendent at the High School for Business.“We were going to park them over there inside the gate. Until we could get a gate around the facility, but we really didn’t think that was going to be a problem,” said the charter school’s superintendent. While it is important to point out that there is no known threat, HPD’s Criminal Intelligence Division mentioned in a recent e-mail that these school bus thefts are a homeland security concern. One detective told 11 News a bus might have been stolen and taken across the border to Mexico.Nevertheless, since the Sept. 11 attacks the thought of terrorists targeting children has certainly been discussed by the Department of Homeland Security. And that is why finding out what happened to these buses is very important.Published reports in 2004 said that the U.S. Military found information in Iraq pertaining to U.S. schools.Reportedly, there have been hundreds of thefts of school bus radios in the United States. With all that being said, 11 News was reminded Monday by law enforcement officials that school buses remain one of the safest ways to get to and from school. In fact, nationwide, school buses transport nearly 24 million kids to school daily. And bus drivers all around the country are being trained regularly to look out for suspicious people and activities.http://www.khou.com/news/local/crime/stori...s.781ef2b7.html

Terrorists Targeting Students: The Kids Are Not Alright Terrorism Marc SheppardApril 2, 2007 Just months after 9/11, videotapes were confiscated in Afghanistan showing al-Qaeda terrorists training to takeover a school. Six months later, spokesman Suleiman Abu Gheith boldly declared al-Qaeda’s “right” to kill 2 million American children. In 2004, an Iraqi national with known terrorist connections was caught with a computer disk containing information detailing Department of Education crisis planning for US school districts.Last year, two Saudi men – one wearing a black trench coat despite the Florida heat -- terrified a busload of Tampa schoolchildren by boarding a school bus and remaining for the entire ride to school, all the while laughing and speaking Arabic. And just weeks ago, the FBI and Homeland Security Department issued a “routine advisory” bulletin to state and local officials warning that foreign members of “extremist groups” either already possess or are attempting to procure licenses to drive school buses. Additionally, according to the AP:“[The bulletin] noted ‘recent suspicious activity’ by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them.”The dispatch went on to say that some of these same unnamed foreigners have been able to buy school buses right here in the homeland. Yet the news of such a potentially immediate threat to our children was carefully spoon-fed to us on a Friday afternoon -- not a good indication of transparency -- with a curious lack of concern as a chaser.A Tepid Warning of an Incendiary ThreatWhile the report did spark some media fire the weekend it was announced, not two weeks later -- the embers were all but cold. As parents, we are now forced to discover why. Surely, there’s something awry in the cloudy ping-pong game of facts being played by FBI and DHS spokespeople, who have absurdly dismissed any possible terrorist linkage. For starters, officials have shown neither the fortitude nor the decency to properly identify the suspects authorities -- and diligent parents -- should be on the lookout for. Moreover, after stating that law enforcement agencies should “watch out for kids' safety,” they then claim that "parents and children have nothing to fear." Really? So, just what is the extent of the threat and who are these unnamed, undescribed “extremist groups?” We’ve been down this road before. Refusing to specify race or ethnic background is probably a clear sign that we’re not talking about some backwoods militia. And, while there are whispers of an al-Qaeda connection, no officials have yet been willing to go on record with any affirmation. If they were protecting sources or other secrets vital to their investigation, why issue such an impotent warning at all?No, it seems more likely that the PC police are now protecting the feelings of Arab male Wahabbist Islamic extremists – or themselves from accusations of profiling – even at the risk of our children’s wellbeing.Of course, anyone doing so would be culpable for delivering our most vulnerable of citizens to our most ruthless of enemies, literally inviting their all-too-well-known barbaric extortion methods.Terrorism, of course, promotes its goal by its very name. And, what better way to terrorize and demoralize than to target our children -- to exploit the inborn drive of all living creatures to protect their young in order to inflict maximum emotional impact on our country? And what easier a soft target than a bus or classroom filled with many highly visible yet defenseless victims and few, if any, in a position to actually protect them? Plus -- can anyone imagine a more horrific hostage crisis? The Beslan Horror – An Omen All But IgnoredSadly, envisioning such a nightmare doesn’t require a vivid imagination, as images are readily available by simply searching the word “Beslan.” Indeed, the Beslan school massacre remains, to date, modern history’s most horrendous example of a cowardly assault on school children. And we ignore its lessons at the peril of our young. On the first day of school in September of 2004 in the Russian town of Beslan, approximately 100 pro-Chechan Islamic terrorists – many embedded as school workers -- seized over 1,200 children and adults in School Number One. While the details of the siege are quite disturbing, they must be absorbed in order to properly understand the threat before us.Men, women, and children (including babies) were herded into an unventilated gym, where temperatures rose to 115 degrees. Hostages were given no food or water and women (and some children) were repeatedly raped. Adult and stronger male students were forced to help fortify the building; then shot without mercy; their bodies tossed out a second story window into the courtyard.Hostiles warned Russian Security Forces that if stormed, they would detonate the building and that for every one in their ranks killed, 50 hostages would be butchered. Armed guards stood amongst prisoners on “deadman switches” which were wired to explosives. Others wore “black widow” suicide vests, which could be triggered by remote control at the whim of their sadistic leaders. Doorways and stairways were booby-trapped and children were forced to sit on windowsills as human shields from snipers.Unspeakable sadism and horror continued for three long days, and can be graphically experienced by those wishing to do so by a 9 minute slideshow put together by officialmastersofchaos.com (Video). Warning – this is pretty ghastly stuff. While numbers vary with their source, across the bloody 3-day standoff some 700 people were wounded and 338 killed, including 172 children. The memories of the rows of little body bags stretched out in a makeshift morgue are destined to haunt the ages. The murderers, many of whom are still at large, and their methods must also share a special place in our memories – such that similar inhumanity to children is never permitted to occur here.Children of a Jihadist’s God – Acknowledging the Terrorist MindsetWe live in a crazy world in which more than a few Palestinian parents proclaim pride in the “martyrdom” of their own children and promote a culture in which suicide bombers are revered as teen idols. To them, youngsters are seen potentially as both weapons and high-visibility targets. And, while most Islamic scholars can cite passage after passage declaring the killing of children as an abomination, to the extremists, children are obviously a disposable commodity. They’ve been strapping explosive belts onto their brainwashed kids and rejoicing in the shrapnel and guts of their own bloodline painted onto charred walls for decades. And, as any IDF soldier will readily tell you, “brave” Palestinian terrorists routinely take innocent children of their own people as human shields (video). But last week, jihadist cowardice sank to a new low when Iraqi terrorists used the presumed innocence of two young children to breach a military security checkpoint in Baghdad. Maj. Gen. Michael Barbero, deputy director for regional operations on the Joint Staff, told reporters that the vehicle was waved through because two children were visible in the back seat:“Children in the back seat lowered suspicion, (so) we let it move through, they parked the vehicle, the adults run out and detonate it with the children in the back. The brutality and ruthless nature of this enemy hasn't changed.”I must take issue with the Major’s final assessment. This new ploy does, indeed, represent a change for these barefoot barbarians in that they’ve taken a cue from their murderous brethren in Palestine, sacrificing innocent children to further their loathsome cause. The significance of this malignant mindset must never be trivialized. It’s Up to Us to See to It That the Kids ARE AlrightOf all the “soft” targets the United States has to offer these madmen, it’s hard to find any more vulnerable than a school. And, as al-Qaeda has a history of plotting spectacular and awe-inspiring attacks, you’d be equally challenged to find a more inviting one. Plus, as explained by Joliet, IL Police Sgt. Dwayne Killian, an instructor in school safety drills, a few successful attacks on schools might be seen as a method to topple the U.S. economy:“To protect their children from possible terrorist attacks, parents would pull them out of school and day-care centers and stay home from work to be with them -- and the economy collapses.”Abu Gheith’s 2002 warning; school plans in the hands of terrorists; Saudi’s terrorizing American schoolchildren on buses; 172 Russian school-kids slaughtered; “extremists” seeking to get behind the wheels of bus-loads of our children; jihadists sacrificing children to kill a few Americans; now a new story of a nutjob in Manila taking 30 kids hostage on a bus – ENOUGH!It’s become glaringly obvious that -- contrary to the words of both the FBI and the famous song by The Who – our kids are not alright. And it’s high time that we parents see to it that appropriate and resolute action is taken to change that condition without delay.Granted, fortifying our schools against such incursions is a daunting task. Nevertheless, the carefree days of obliviously sending the tots off in the morning with blind faith in their safekeeping are over. And, while authorities claim to be working on “hardening” schools as targets, it’s hard to discount this amazingly lame shot at reassurance from the FBI/DHS memo:"Most attempts by foreign nationals in the United States to acquire school bus licenses to drive them are legitimate."Comforting? Try reprehensibly bungling. Do we need any more confirmation that there are “foreign nationals” out there bent on our destruction? That the privilege to drive hundreds of our precious and beloved children every day should be reserved for US citizens only and then only after extensive background checks? That these checks should not be less stringent (as is often the case) than those of the schools’ janitors or lunch ladies, which, in this age of Columbine, run-away sexual abuse of children and the nefarious plots discussed herein, are themselves often recklessly relaxed? In the unlikely event that you need further convincing that it’s time to become actively involved in your school district’s safety plans, here’s a stark reminder of terror’s reach that Sgt. Killian routinely gives educators:“Osama bin Laden promised that the terrorist attack on a Russian school in 2004 will happen many times over in the United States.”Dare we leave these dots unconnected any longer?

Jim Bramlett Attack on children imminent? Jim BramlettSep 10 2007 02:04PM Dear friends:In the past few days and weeks I have seen several messages from people who believe they have had divine revelation of imminent attacks against America. Because of similar failed predictions in the past, there is an inclination to dismiss them. However, some things this time are different. We are also getting consistent warnings and threats from the enemy which reportedly U.S. government "insiders" consider credible. For example, today radio host Glenn Beck interviewed a U.S. security expert who confirms such an imminent threat. The expert says that information available is that the next target will be our school children, especially 7th grade and below. The reason for targeting our children is for shock effect. The radical Islamists want the destruction to be as totally horrible and gruesome as possible. They want the attacks to inflame Americans against Muslims in the U.S., sparking citizen revenge, which will further ignite Muslims all over the world against America. For some reason, probably to avoid panic, the public is not being told about such a threat. However, there is evidence that school systems are being quietly warned. One listener, whose husband is a school bus driver in the midwest, called in and revealed that the husband had been made aware of the threat, but it is supposed to be secret. Both schools and school buses reportedly may be targets. Glenn reveals that large numbers of school buses and bus radios have been mysteriously stolen recently in different parts of the U.S.When school tragedies occur, the terrorists know that parents will rush to the school and stand around outside talking and praying. For this reason, they plan secondary attacks with shootings and car bombs in parking lots in order to kill parents.I still read of a planned "America Hiroshima" and multiple nuclear attacks by the terrorists, but I have no further information on that. All this week, on both his radio and TV programs, Glenn Beck will be discussing all this and revealing more information that he has. Glenn's radio program is in many cities daily from 9 a.m. to noon ET. His TV program is on the CNN Headline News channel (not just CNN) daily at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET.Glenn believes the threat is so real and bad, that we need divine protection and intervention. He said Americans must get on their knees and cry out to God.Good idea. We should be on our knees anyhow.Jim

That is the worst thing possible to even think about! Fine, the terrorists want to kill americans, good, go after the adults. This is just plain disgusting to think that these people can go through with something like this. Just love your babies as if it's your last day with them, because we just never know what's going to happen!

Well, as violent as this sounds, I think there's some truth to that. Like the old west, everyone carried their own weapon. It's a constitutional right. The schools are clearly anti-weapon and anti-constitution. Without using commonsense, they classify the girl with a plastic knife on the same category as a trouble-maker with a switchblade. We depend on "government" to protect us. Then, we all sit here with our thumbs up our you-know-whats and wonder why we have terrorism threats? I think some teachers and school principals ought to have some AK-47's and other light hardware to deter would-be terrorists. Then there would not be any problems as such people as terrorists are basically cowardly. In short, we have to trust each other and fight a common enemy. That would give the few would-be violent people an outlet IMO. (in other words, say to the trouble makers, don't hurt us----- hit that guy over there instead. I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige.

Maybe its that some of us were raised in a different time but Im with Tim and Tim on this one You cant win over the neighborhood bully by telling him that its not nice to be mean. "He doesnt care'. You need to Carry a bigger stick than him and be willing to use it. And futher more I think its completely biblical to do so.

Just don't be an aggressor. Jesus told the disciples to buy swords before they go and pray with Jesus the final time before His public execution. He also says that those who fight with the sword, die with the sword. By that Jesus meant that if you use your gun to settle disputes instead of your whit, then you'll surely perish.

Anyone who knows me knows I would never intend to start anything, but many of us believe we have the God-given right to defend what He has given to us. In the OT, he often promised Israel peace if they kept His Law, and they would win over any enemy that would try to impose on them.Given that premise, I hate when those of us who want to defend what we have and practice the constitution as if we're the troublemakers because we believe in the right to bear arms. For this so-called psychologically enlightened society, when will those who pass judgment on the likes of me (as if I am violent) realize that they are really projecting their own personality and guilt? Maybe the anti-weapon and anti-constitution people (or those who'd rather redefine it) are the real danger that should not bear arms if I had to pick anyone.

Every school should have a teacher or principal that carries. Especially now in this day and age with Columbine and Virginia tech starting to become a norm. Have you noticed that it is the completely helpless that are being attacked? Let's change that. Let's not be helpless. Let's get rid of "gun free zones". All this does is ensure the law abiding won't be able to defend themselves. I'm glad to see most of you believe in the God given right to defend yourselves. I hope the Constitution makes a come-back. I'm secretly rooting for Ron Paul (Even though he's not against gay marriage he is For the Constitution)

Yes, I am looking to Ron Paul. My 20-year-old son pointed him out to me. Although he is on the Republican ticket, I mentioned to my son that I thought he sounded Libertarian (the party that I am). No wonder---- My memory got jogged when I found out he was a candidate for the Libertarian Party many years ago. I guess that he switched tickets to sound more mainline IMO but to promote the Libertarian ways. There were even rumors that Ron Paul supporters were going to switch from the Libertarian party to the Republican to vote him in the primary. However, I think the Libertarian party is minority enough that even if that happened, he still probably would not make it----- the masses are all entranced with Burger King or McDonalds yet and the Happy Meals served.Probably Ghoulianni or Hellery Clinton will make it. Political views presented here not official views of this forum.
