Has anyone had a run in with this organization?

If so, what were your impressions? How did you have it sold to you? Were you as unimpressed as I? Did you like it?

Looking for personal impressions, not so much a review of their web presence.

Then let me say I don't disagree with the message but finding out where the money goes that's another matter.
Lots of these organizations consume 80 to 90% of donations in the office not over seas.

It actually says that "no money passes through the organization itself and you can choose where you donate, giving the reader a couple of options.
I have not watched any of the video's but my impression is mixed.
The concept seems okay but the Spirit of intention behind it seems to be lacking.... Their approach assumes that most families waste their money, are under stress, get themselves into debt, have missed the moment or reason for the season. They then present the idea of being able to help manage and alleviate some of that stress by doing things differently, giving little feedback on how that is actually achieved.

The four tenets the organization promotes, would not be what I would consider as the four most important aspects of the Christmas season as most families, groups and Church organizations like to give and help others at this time of year anyway. The organization seems to be a resource center where you can access their material, which promotes their ideas.

I gave you my personal impression of many of these org.
The pulpits are stealing sheep blind why bother teaching just start and org. and receive "donations"

Granted there are probably some good ones but more bad IMO

While our regular pastor is out sick the pulpit supply is a pastor who is going to spend the next 4 weeks on this "program" during our Wednesday Bible study. Maybe one day but 4 weeks worth of a Holier-Than-Thou attitude towards Christmas will be too much for me to stomach I am afraid.

Just wanted to find out if there is the possibility of some redeeming teaching I might be able to hold fast to.

Just sat in on Lesson 3 of the 4 part Advent Conspiracy study.

I'll sum it up this way; it was the spiritual equivalent of watching the Home Shopping Channel while eating Chinese fortune cookies.

If someone in your congregation or bible study brings this up, try to swallow the little bit of vomit that bubbled up into your mouth and politely tell them to go pound salt.

Andy my friend.....

Let me tell you something. IF, and I say IF you have to celebrate xmas, then some of the suggestions they give are correct. There's too much emphasis on commercialism and not enough time on the real things Yahshua (Christ) would have us do. However, you can do this without their program but on your own.

If you do that much, you are doing well. However, you know that the likes of me do not usually conform, be it with Christianity or computers. and this is not to be "superior" in any way, but to try to be helpful and getting to the truth of things. It's best, if you can attain that point, not to even celebrate xmas at all (as you hear many of us saying), and you'll be doing even better. Christ was born in the autumn, and we are to do well and his commands all times of the year, including some of the suggestions that site and video give. I think it's time for Christians to stop taking a pagan holiday, which it has clearly shown itself to be by its fruition to commercialism, and not go the way of the world instead of just sugar-coating it with teachings of Christ. Jesus IS NOT the reason for the season. My signature, whether agreed with or not, is.

Nawwwww........ I would NOT really use that pointy haired boss man to make my point, funny as it may seem. Everyone knows that the Dilbert boss man is a dork and anything he says can be taken with a grain of salt. I just thought this was funny and couldn't resist since we like cartoons here.
