There's much to cover about the Assyrian. This is just a quick summary of a few of those verses. I'll do my best to cover the rest in my replies.
Isaiah 10, 14 and 30 and Micah 5 are some of the most neglected of all end-time prophecies. There are so many places where the anti-christ is called the 'Assyrian' that we shouldn't disregard it. However, it has been neglected due to the overwhelming number of 'experts' who claim the anti-christ would be a Roman or European.

Benjamin Newton in his book "Aids to the Study of Prophetic Inquiry" written in 1859, predicted that the "true antichrist of the New Testament should arise from the same Babylon" that Nebuchadnezzar and Antiochus Epiphanes rose from.
Finis Dake, Arthur Pink, E.W Bullinger, and Benjamin Newton all believed that the antichrist would be an Assyrian.

The Millennium, Israel, and the future anti-christ are the main topics of Isaiah 14.

Isaiah 14:1 ¶For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

Verses 1-3 tell us that God will yet chose Israel and set them in their own land and many gentiles will be converted and joined with Israel and serve them. The gentiles will help bring Israel home and Israel will 'posses' the gentiles in the land of Israel and become servants and handmaids. The Israelites will take captive those who once took them captive. In v.2 Israel will rule over their oppressors (nations against Israel) and the king of Babylon is described as Israel's oppressor.

Verse 3 says, " it shall come to pass in the day". What day? In the day of the second advent of Christ. V. 3 indicates that, "The LORD shall give thee (Israel) rest from their sorrow, fear, and from the hard bondage, wherein thou wast made to serve. Israel has never been given rest from the Lord. They have never possessed the gentiles in Israel or made them servants. And Israel has never ruled over their oppressors. This chapter is certainly talking about the Millennial kingdom.

Isaiah 14:4 ¶That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
Israel will rejoice and sing a funeral song about their triumph over the Assyrian anti-christ. I think it's clear that this entire passage is future and can only be fulfilled during the Millennium. The Assyrian is also called the king of Babylon!

Isaiah 14:5-6 declares that the anti-christ is destroyed.

Verse 7-8 is clearly a millenial passage because at no time in the past has the whole earth been at rest. Even the cedars and fir trees rejoice!

Isaiah 14:9-11 says that the occupants of hell are moved to meet him when he arrives. Even the chief ones and kings of the nations are moved at his coming! They tell him, "Art thou also become weak as we? Art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. The anti-christ is DEAD!

Isaiah 14:12-15 The king of Babylon i.e. the Assyrian is taunted and likened to Lucifer.
Isaiah 14:16-20 there is more taunting of the anti-christ by the nations.
Isaiah 14:21-23 Babylon is left desolate.
Isaiah 14:24-27 The Lord makes an oath to destroy the anti-christ! The Assyrian is broken in Israel, his yoke removed and the burden departs from Israel. Daniel says that the anti-christ will not be destroyed by human hands and that's in accord with V.25 about the Assyrian!
25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

Isaiah says "be not afraid of the Assyrian."
This again is future because of "the anointing." Read it and look at the similarities to chapter 14.

Isaiah 10:24 ¶Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Now read Isaiah 30:27-32. This is the Day of the Lord where he beats down (not up) the Assyrian.
Isaiah 30:27 ¶Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
    The Assyrian anti-christ.

Jesus Christ will only rule at the millennium after Israel is restored.

Micah 5:3-6 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. (The remnant of Jesus brethren; Israel restored)

4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. (Jesus now reigns on earth)

Jesus will rule only after the Assyrian treads upon Israel's palaces.

5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Daniel 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Israel destroys the Assyrian's own land, the land of Nimrod, after he treads within Israel's borders.

6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

Ninevah was the capital city of Assyria and located in "Ashur" or Northern Iraq.
Nimrod founded Babylon and built the tower of Babel. Genesis 10:8-11. (This is where I believe the antichrist will come from.)

The Lord cannot finish his work upon mount zion or on Jerusalem until he returns. And then he will punish the king of Assyria. Therefore, this can't be an ancient king of Assyria. It has to be a future king of Assyria!

Isaiah 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

It's the voice of the Lord that beats down the Assyrian. Not another army.

Isaiah 30:31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

The Assyrian is the rod of God's anger against Israel.

Isaiah 10:5O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

According to verse seven, I have to agree with another author who says that the antichrist may not even know he is the antichrist!

    To All,

Is it a surprise that the Babylonian Empire established the metropolis model? Did the creators of "Superman" recognize that the pinnacle of that model for today is New York City? Should anyone anticipate that model will be replaced by anything other than the Millennial Kingdom? Isn't it obvious that this Babylonian invention should be repeatedly cited for that historical-to-modern significance?

And if this metropolis model is global, isn't it reasonable to allow that the a/c could be born, raised, worked, and attained international recognition from any multitude of nations? So is anyone any closer to that identity, such that they have no need for the calculation of his name?

Thus aren't all the cited verses merely the acknowledgment of the metropolis "he-goat", -- (will the four subsequent world empires, for which the fifth is "divided")? And if these verses merely coincide with the greater span of world history, (i.e., 2,500 year of civilization), then is the greater key to this riddle found elsewhere, -- (i.e., Revelation 13)?

PS Regarding "Antiochus Epiphanes", one would be well advised that the inferred prophecy from Daniel 11:21 has absolutely nothing to do with this obscure and insignificant ruler. -- Newton aptly discounted that premise, exactly as Daniel 12:4 & 9 instructs us.

Lot of that is true kaoticprofit, except God's Word shows that particular Assyrian role is about Satan himself...

    Isa 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
    (KJV)

It was Satan that did that sin first in coveting God's Throne for himself.

    Ezek 31:7-11
7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.
8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
    10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;
11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
    (KJV)

Same idea, and this time Pharaoh of Egypt is included with the Assyrian in that parable about Satan who was in God's Garden of Eden that first rebelled in wanting to be God.

    Isa 30:31-33
31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will He fight with it.
33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; He hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
    (KJV)

Tophet was about the valley of Hinnom where child sacrifice in fire took place, and it became an area outside Jerusalem where garbage burned 24/7. God uses it as a metaphor for the future "lake of fire" event with Satan cast into it.

Thus "the Assyrian" as a metaphor type in God's Word, is about Satan himself ultimately. Might he as the antichrist hail from the old lands of Assyria for the future tribulation? It's possible.

Assyria is modern day Iraq. Who owns Iraq? (Hint: it's not Iraqis).

It is no coincidence that both the UK and the US both jointly "own" Iraq, why Bush was so intent on going in there: to fulfill the prophecies so that the antichrists could claim title to the "Assyrian".

Obama is the False Prophet and Prince William is the Antichrist Jewish messiah. Both are "Assyrian kings".

Please reconsider your rampant anti Islamism, it will lead you astray.

There seems to be no end to idle speculations presented as TRUTH. And where both Scripture and History fail to agree as to those assertions, false interpretations and false history is provided.

Talk about the blind leading the blind.

    Veteran said,
There are lots of names for Satan. But nowhere is he called an Assyrian and the king of Babylon!

You are very mistaken if you think that Isaiah 14 is all about Lucifer.
    Satan is not a man.

    Isaiah 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

The Satan possessed anti-christ destroyed cities and made the world a wilderness.
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
So are you saying Satan will be destroyed in Israel? Absolutely not! Satan will be cast into the abyss and lake of fire.
That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

Isaiah 10, 30, and Micah 5 all mention the Assyrian anti-christ. And you say this is all about Satan??? Is God warning Israel to "not be afraid of Satan???

Tell me??? How will Satan be the peace??? How will Satan come into Israel's palaces? How will he lay waste the land of Assyria with sword???
Micah 5:5 And this MAN shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

The yoke that's imposed upon Israel is done so by the Assyrian anti-christ. NOT BY SATAN!!!

Isaiah 14 is all about Israel, the millennium, and the Assyrian i.e. the king of Babylon i.e. the Antichrist! NOT ABOUT LUCIFER!

The Assyrian is likened to Lucifer. Why would Isaiah liken an Assyrian to Lucifer? Or why would Lucifer also be called an Assyrian or the king of Babylon?

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
So answer this. Why is the Assyrian also called the king of Babylon?

This is why the Assyrian anti-christ is likened to Lucifer! You even said several times that the anti-christ is satan. I say he is a man possessed by Satan!
Revelation 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Chapter 14 is about ISRAEL, THE MILLENNIUM, AND THE ASSYRIAN ANTI-CHRIST! Not about Lucifer!
Isaiah 14:1 ¶For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

I shouldn't have to spoon feed you the rest of the chapter to prove this isn't about Satan. Read it for yourself. If you don't see it. You don't want to se it because it's in opposition to what you already believe. It's very clear that this isn't just about Satan.
30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. i.e. ARMAGEDDON!
31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

How many friends of innocent people died because we bombed Afghans,Iraqis, etc, citizens, innocent people?

I make no judgments as to who is what.

But if we think we North Americans who kill innocent people in the name of... Democracy... Or Jesus... Or peace, are justified, then we have fooled ourselves. We justify our killing of innocent lives, yet we get SOOO angry when an american is killed.

I'm not pointing this directly at anyone here. But there is much wrong doing and justification of self going on in the American nation, and much in the name of Christ. Yet America is NOT God's favorite.

    Hi Prentis,

Actually, I am aware of many nations cited in prophecy, some destined for HIS specific judgment, others which are ~neutral~ in context, but only one who is praised:

[sup]2[/sup]Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
[sup]3[/sup]Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
[sup]4[/sup]And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
[sup]5[/sup]Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
[sup]6[/sup]Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
[sup]7[/sup]Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
[sup]8[/sup]All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
[sup]9[/sup]Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
    [sup]10[/sup]Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
[sup]11[/sup]So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
[sup]12[/sup]And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
[sup]13[/sup]The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
[sup]14[/sup]She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
[sup]15[/sup]With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
[sup]16[/sup]Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
[sup]17[/sup]I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

And where you might be unaware of the significance of this prophecy, I will fully propose and defend that this is specifically a prophecy for the United States of America.

So where you cite the horrors of warfare, you should never lose sight of the fact that sin penalizes not only the individual, but affect those around them. And it's not the policeman who's guilty for arresting the criminal, leaving the wife and children hungry.

PS The verse 4 "let your right hand teach you", describes the new technology developed in WWII, and the "terrible things" (plural) describes both derivations and uses. The first was the gun-assembled "Little Boy" as delivered over Hiroshima; and the second was the implosion "Fat Man".

    The Little Boy Bomb:
Dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, it was the first nuclear weapon used in a war. Following are some approximate statistics for Little Boy. If you require more extensive information on this weapon, please contact us:

Anti-christ is a spirit, not a man. Anytime one chooses against Christ, they are operating as anti/against Christ, and not necessarily sinners only, we all make mistakes. II Jh.1:7 discribes one at the end of this verse that is AN anti-christ. Clearly one man could not be doing all the things that are ascribed to the modern westernized anti-christ. The false christs of Mat 24:24 are simply falsely anointed ones. These are the true anti- christs. Those that call themselves to preach, with little or no oversight. If actually anointed, they then have come to the place we all must arrive at, loss of self (anti-christ traits) and the fallacy that all things have become instantly new with an initial prayer that isn't even understood!

OK, so what if we don't use that word 'antichrist'? There's other Scripture examples about the coming false one that men's false 'antichrist is a spirit only' tradition still... cannot try to do an end-around on.

    Matt 24:21-23
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
    (KJV)

    Matt 24:25-26
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
    (KJV)

    Matt 24:15
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
    (KJV)

    II Th 2:3-4
    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
    (KJV)

    II Th 2:8
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming:
    (KJV)

    II Th 2:9-10
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
    (KJV)

    Rev 13:4-8
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
    (KJV)

    Rev 13:11-14
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
    (KJV)

    Dan 11:21-23
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
    (KJV)

    Dan 11:31-38
31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
    (KJV)

No matter how much Satan's lies are spread within many Churches today like a poisonous venom, God's Holy Writ is STILL pointing to a specific entity coming to exalt himself in place of God and His Christ, working signs and miracles to fool the majority into bowing to him instead. What will the deceived do then? Will they then say he is only a 'spirit' when they bow in false worship to him?

America can't be compared to the Satan infested religion of Islam. Islam is a religion. Not a country! It was an evil religion bent on world domination that attacked us on Sept. 11, 2001. Islam has been the most murderous religion on the planet for centuries. They have killed more Christians in the last 13 years than in all of history. Islam is a religion with a a political ideology. IF it was not a religion, it would be banned from the U.S. It won't be long and the jihadist will once again authenticate themselves as the harlot. But how many of you are willing to see and accept it?

Sorry about the arrogant comment I made. I would edit it out if I could.

Agreed. Only Christ said all who live godly will suffer persecution. We are not to bite back, but to love. :)

No problem, but I still disagree that God is pointing to some Satan-possessed flesh man in the role of the coming pseudo-Christ. That's the position Satan has coveted all along, the Seat of Christ. The specific sin Paul mentioned in 2 Thess.2:3-4 of one coming to sit in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God, is about Satan's sin of original rebellion.

And Ezek.28:18 does show it's Satan that God will turn to ashes upon the earth with those who behold him. That proclamation, along with Rev.17 about the beast that ascends up from the bottomless pit and goes into 'perdition', are also pointers to Satan de facto. Why?

Do you know ANY flesh man that is ALREADY judged and sentenced to perish? If you named even just one other than Satan and his angels, you would contradict God's future Great White Throne Judgment that is to determine just which flesh born will go into the "lake of fire" with Satan.

In Isaiah 14, the word "Lucifer" was added by the KJV translators. BUT, they did put an alternate in the margin of their 1st edtion KJV Bible. It reads "O day starre" if I remember correctly. It's because the Hebrew word they rendered as "Lucifer" means 'morning star'. That particular reference is only to Satan coveting Christ's Position as The Bright and Morning Star per Rev.22.

The specific sin of coveting God's Throne per the Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 examples is a reference to Satan's first sin against God.

And didn't you know that Archangel Gabriel's name means 'man of God', yet Gabriel is not a flesh born man? How's that?

It's because God's Own Image He created us AND the angels with, is that of the outward image of 'man'. That's why the misuse of the word 'man' to try and point only to flesh man as the coming false one doesn't really work. Even the angels that appeared to God's servants per Scripture are called 'men' (Gen.18).

The Isaiah 30 Scripture that points to both "the Assyrian" and "the king" that the Tophet fire has been prepared for "of old", is another hint to Satan as the metaphorical Assyrian.

And if that isn't enough, Rev.12:9 and 20:2 gives us to know the "dragon" title is another name for Satan himself. And it is that "dragon" which Rev.13 tells us all the earth will worship, those who's names are not written in the book of Life from the foundation of the world.

Ummmm, Prentis, -- the United States is not a christian, it's a nation. As such, Romans defines that role:

    Romans 13:4

[sup]4[/sup] For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

NO nation is to turn the other cheek, in fact, nations are GOD's servants, and bring wrath on the evil, but peace and stability on the good.

So I would once again propose that Scripture recognizes that nation which you criticized, as:

...God hath blessed thee for ever. ...
... I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

Veteran, as with most here you confine yourself to the natural example in scripture and leave the spiritual application alone. Paul in I Cor.15:46 delivers a principle that is overlooked and vitally important to Biblical Interpretation- the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The scripture always cuts at least two ways. All this dread over supposed slaughter and destruction is madness if kept in the literal sense! The Revelation is written in signs, the articles in the Tabernacle of Moses figures prominatly from almost the start, natural things speaking to the spiritual realities. Take Mal.3:10, Bring all the tithes and offerings into the storehouse, and try Me now in this.........If I will not open (YOU) the windows of heaven. And pour out YOU a blessing. The K.J. is the only translation that I know of that uses the word you only. The Hebrew says to you. Most others render it for you. If one does not look for the spiritual application after the natural example, then it's just rain, money and stuff. The world is tired of looking at us, they want to see Him. See Him reflected through the windows of His transparent Saints.

    Veteran,

Isaiah 14 isn't about Satan. It's just what I said it's about. Israel, the Millennium, and the future MAN of sin and his fall. Isaiah 14 compares the prideful and evil nature of the Satan possessed Assyrian (man of sin) with the prideful evil nature of Satan.

Anti-christ is a Spirit that's been around since the fall of man. In the last days that same spirit will manifest itself in two of Satans servants. For me it's without question that in the last days there will come an evil political figure who has acquired the name 'anti-christ'. There are several names for him in scripture and the anti-christ isn't one of them but he will be the ultimate anti-christ. And an evil religious figure we call the false prophet. They are the dajjal and the Mahdi.

You're American? My bad, I thought you were Christian... ;)

Of course, we are 'citizens' of a country in the flesh. This is not meant to be an offense. I'm just making a point. Christ has given us politics and a way of doing things. We have a choice.

Either we set aside our countries ideals of Christ's way.

Or we set aside Christ's way for our country's ideals.

If Jesus turn the other cheek, and your nation says slap him back, who do you obey?

We must show ourselves to be Pilgrims on this earth. If our way of living does not reflect that we understand we are only here temporarily and that we walk according to a higher rule, then we are of this world. We are in the world, but we must be very carefull not to be of it.

Am I Canadian? Carnally, yes. But I do not subscribe to the spirit of conformity that reigns here. We must be careful not to be ambassadors for our country, when we are actually called to be pilgrims in it, and ambassadors for the Kingdom of God.

    Hey Prentis,

My comment and citations were in response to your criticizm of the U.S. actions overseas. And where you see one side of the coin, those suffering under the penalty of the murdering despots see the opposite. But GOD sees both. And where HE sees more than the tangibles, (i.e., HE sees the intent/heart) HE has judged that circumstance.

So this really is not a citizenship/christianity issue, as you might divert the discussion toward, but rather a defense of your previous assertion, --

As such, I would maintain that unless you wish to refute the applicability of the cited Scripture, that you allow GOD to provide HIS objective opinion that the U.S. is a truthful, meek, and righteous nation. :)

    Your Friend,
    BS

Only I do not see in any way that this scripture is applied to the US.

The USA, looking at the way it is, is not righteous. Nations are corrupt, they work by power. The US is no exception. :)

    God bless you
