Why do Christians fail to live a perfected discipleship?
Its because they are trying to do it, you are trying to do it, in your own willpower.
You are trying to stop sinning.
You are trying to stop failing.
You are trying to keep believing.
You are trying to not doubt.
You are trying to do better.
A.) Fail = you, you, you, you, you, you, trying, trying, trying.
And why is that a 100% total fail?
Its because you can't accomplish in the SPIRIT anything by the flesh. (mind-will).
Your WILL, is flesh.
Your STRIVING, is flesh.
Your enduring, is flesh.
All of that is your MIND that isn't the "renewed" mind.
FLESH (mind-will) can't produce Holy Spiritual life and most believers are trying to produce it by the flesh, ...by the "natural man" and the "natural mind". = Willpower.
Christian Discipleship is generated and maintained by this......Colossians 2:7

That is not you doing it., and because you are trying to do it, you CAN'T.
You can't live the Victorious Christian life, by your self effort to do it.
OR as Paul learned....>"CHRIST always GIVES ME = The Victory"..... Victory = power to live "As many as are PERFECT" Paul teaches.
Paul says to be "likeminded". Or in the same spiritual place of right believing.
Notice the phrase. "rooted and BUILT UP"
Where?
= "IN CHRIST".
So how do you root and become BUILT as a perfected disciple IN CHRIST?
You do it by right believing.
You do it by resting in God's Grace and letting go of the struggle that is your MIND.
Saint, Christianity came to free you from bondage, not give you more.
Bondage is you trying to live the Holy Spiritual life, by WILLPOWER and SELF EFFORT.
When you do that, you are ROOTED in YOURSELF< and in yourself.. "is no good thing".
So, how can you get GOOD out of what isn't good?
You can't.
You can only get GOOD and become Perfected by being rooted in the GOOD.
"Abiding in the Vine", as without Jesus's Goodness perfecting you, you can't be perfected.
The GOOD is only found "in Christ" and in God's Grace. Hebrews 13:9
And the verse says...>"THE Faith".
So, you are already born again, by God accepting your faith on the day He gave you the New Birth, but now you are to walk in THE Faith.
"THE"....means the only ONE.
And what is that?
That is walking in the RIGHT MIND, by RIGHT BELIEVING.
If you believe right, you find God's power to LIVE RIGHT< as only He can cause you to live righteously. "Christ ALWAYS GIVES me the VICTORY", Paul teaches.
If you believe wrong, then you are in YOUR POWER, the wrong mind, and that fails and continues to fail, as you have no self power to live HOLY.
This VICTORY only comes from being = ROOTED "in Christ"
Live there, and stay victorious.
Do you believe you can lose your salvation?
Then you are believing wrong, and have no understanding YET< of the Blood Atonement, or the Grace of God.
When you do come into this enlightenment, you will no longer believe you can lose your salvation.
Once you are there, in that correct spiritual understanding, (Right Believing) then Christ will give you the "Victory".
Not until.
