The Cross:

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. - John 13:1.

1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: - John 17:1.

The hour had come! There is no greater hour, than the hour that came when Jesus was to be offered up to God - for the offering of the lamb prepared before the foundation of the world - to take away "the sin of the world!

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. - John 1:29.

All eternity had been waiting for this moment. The greatest moment in time, in time as we know it. Jesus, the lamb of God was going to give his life for all humanity! The greatest moment in time. The moment that had been fixed in God's mind, in the plan of God .. before the foundation of the world; and now was playing out for the whole of the world to see. Believe!

Suspended between heaven and earth; Jesus' took sin and destoyed the power it had over humanity. For the first time, men could be free of 'the sin' that had held them captive since Adam. Free by the life of another, even Jesus the Christ! The Son of the living God.

1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. - Romans 7:1-5.
