Okay so it's like this: You can be holy but not divine. But you can't be divine without holiness. The holy Angel's are holy, but not divine. Divinity is reserved for Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit. Now, we are sinful beings by nature. But, we are also the bride of Christ. When two are married, they become one. Does this mean that we, as humans, will one day partake of that divine nature? Is this why our destiny is to be greater than that of the Angel's who were made a little higher than humans are?

Thoughts? Comments?

Be blessed of God.

what did John say?

1Jn_3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

you receive the Life through Christ, the Life that Christ has. He came to give His Life to the faithful. that sonship in the Father to the sons.

but Holy v divine, one shouldn't worry about but Peter sates here:

2Pe_1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe_1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

DMartin is correct, and to get that divine Nature, it is in the resurrection. Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"

1 Corinthians 15:51 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed," 1 Corinthians 15:52 "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." 1 Corinthians 15:53 "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." 1 Corinthians 15:54 "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."1 Corinthians 15:55 "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

so yes, while in the body, we're sons, and holy, but when he comes who only have immortality, then we will be LIKE HIM.
