This will reveal to you just WHERE Lord Jesus quoted from the Book of Daniel about the "abomination of desolation" event for the last days just prior to His future return on the "day of the Lord".

First it's important to note the final 70th "one week" of the Daniel 9 prophecy, which is still yet to be fullfilled.

Dan 9:27
27 And
he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
KJV

There's 3 major identifying works by that coming false one at the end of this world that all Christians need to know about for the end:
1. "he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week"
2. "in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease"
3. "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate"

Further Explained:

1. that event is about the coming Antichrist (or whatever you want to call him), that will make an agreement with a group of Jewish leaders in Jerusalem to re-establish old covenant worship in Jerusalem again. Will it also involve a peace treaty with the nations surrounding Israel in the middle east? Most likely, and also the Jews building their new temple in Jerusalem. But the main agreement will be that coming Antichrist making it happen for the orthodox unbelieving Jews in Jerusalem, because they believe they are still under the old covenant, and that Messiah has not yet come. They will see the coming Antichrist as their Messiah. (All this is covered more in the Daniel 11 chapter where Jesus quoted from.)

2. The "one week" period per the Daniel 9 seventy weeks prophecy is symbolic of a period of 7 years. In the middle of that 7 years, that Antichrist will end the Jew's daily sacrifice and oblation. That means after the first 1260 days of that 7 year period.

3. At that middle point of the 7 years, the Antichrist having ended the Jew's daily sacrifice and oblation, that false one will instead place the abomination that makes desolate in the new temple in Jerusalem. That means an IDOL inside that new temple, requiring all to bow in worship to it, or be killed, just like it was during the Jew's Babylon captivity. That IDOL for the end is described in Revelation 13 as the "image of the beast".

Daniel 9:24-27, Seventy Literal "Future" Weeks Explained?

Daniel's 70 weeks are literal 7 day periods, or 490 literal days.

If Daniel meant 490 years he would have written

(Four Hundred Ninety Years)

Daniel had no restrictions in "Writing" exact numerology as seen below.

Daniel 6:1KJV
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

Daniel 8:14KJV
And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Daniel 12:11KJV
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Below in Daniel 10:2-3 we see just another example of Daniel's literal weeks, as Daniel mourned and fasted for 3 literal weeks or 21 days.

Daniel 10:2-3KJV
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

Below in Daniel 9:24-27 we see 70 literal "Future" weeks or 490 days.

When the "Future" call/commandment goes out in Jerusalem to build unto the Jewish Meshiach/Messiah that they wait for (They Denied Jesus Christ) this will start the 7 week period in preparing to build.

62 literal weeks will be in building, and Meshiach/Messiah will be cut off by the armies surrounding Jerusalem, this stops the building.

The 70th literal week will see (The Antichrist) revealed in making a covenant, and in the middle of this literal week he proclaims to be Meshiach/Messiah God to the Jews, and Jesus returned to the apostate church, to start a Millennium on earth.

The 3.5 year tribulation starts at this time.

Daniel 9:24-27KJV
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Here is the portion of the Daniel 11 Scripture that Lord Jesus pointed to for the END of this world, i.e., the "great tribulation".

Dan 11:20-39
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
21 And in his estate shall stand up
a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

The only history lesson I'm going to bore you with is about this "vile person" that we have already been given a prior 'blueprint' for. It was about Antiochus Epiphanes who took Jerusalem with an army around 165 B.C., and went inside the Jewish temple and sacrificed swine upon the Altar, thus spiritually desolating. He further spread the swine's broth around inside that 2nd temple, and then setup an IDOL abomination in Zeus worship further spiritually desolating the temple, and demanded that all bow to it.

That was but a blueprint for this Daniel 11 prophecy, like an ensample only (see 2 Corinthians 10:11 where Apostle Paul taught that Old Testament events serve as "ensamples" for us upon whom the ends of the world have come).

A major thing to notice with the above Dan.11:21 verse about that "vile person" for the 'end', notice he will "obtain the kingdom by flatteries", not by an army like Antiochus did! Thus there are specific parameters of this Dan.11 prophecy of the "vile person" that cannot be applied to history.

23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

There's that "covenant" mentioned back in the Daniel 9:27 verse that he will make with that "small people" in Jerusalem, meaning a small group of Jewish leadership. What will that "league" really be about? Keep going...

24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

Then the vile person and the king of the south will plot devices per the above.

28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.

That "vile person" will be against "the holy covenant". That "holy covenant" points to the re-established old covenant style worship in Jerusalem by the Jews, with a new temple included as a requirement. That shows the "vile person" had already planned before to end that "holy covenant" in Jerusalem.

30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

Not only will the "vile person" by himself be against the "holy covenant" that will have been re-established with a new temple and sacrifices by the orthodox Jews, but others will be with him against it. Who might those be? If you've studied the prophecy in Jeremiah 24 where God showed two baskets of figs, one good for Judah, and the other basket as 'evil', then you should realize these crept in unawares, a group of "tares", that hide among the good wheat. They apparently will be part of this Antichrist's plan to exalt himself in place of GOD at Jerusalem.

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The above is where Lord Jesus quoted from in Matthew 24:15 involving SIGNS of the 'end' He gave us to be watching, just prior to His future return.

What that means is this. This "vile person" prophecy that will setup that "abomination that maketh desolate" in a temple in Jerusalem, was NOT history, but is for the very end. It definitely reveals that Antiochus Epiphanes (165 B.C.) was NOT who this "vile person" will be. How do we know that for certain?

Easy, because Lord Jesus quoted the above "abomination that maketh desolate" prophecy about 200 years after Antiochus had already been dead! By doing that, Lord Jesus placed this "vile person" prophecy for the end of this world (see Matthew 24:15-22 which Jesus gave among the Signs of the 'end' leading up to His future return).

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white,
even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

The above trials will be about the faithful of Christ's Church, both in Jerusalem, and in the nations. The Revelation 13:4-8 Scripture reveals that the "dragon" will be given power over us, and over all nations and peoples, for a period of 42 months (i.e. 1260 days, the latter half of Daniel's symbolic "one week" of 7 years.) So the above is definitely about the time of "great tribulation" Lord Jesus warned us about in Matthew 24 for the end. That 42 months will begin at Matthew 24:15 when that abomination IDOL is setup in a new temple in Jerusalem. That is when Jesus said there will be "great tribulation" that the world has never seen before, nor will ever again.

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

Didn't Apostle Paul tell us about that coming false one doing that, exalting himself as God, and over all that is even 'called' God, or that is worshiped? (2 Thessalonians 2:4). Call him the "vile person" like here in Daniel 11, or the Antichrist that Apostle John spoke of, or the pseudo-Christ that Lord Jesus warned us about, or the "another beast" John also warned of in Rev.13:11 forward. It's all about the same false one ordained for the very end of this world, coming to work the great signs and wonders to deceive the whole world with.

37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
KJV

Historically, Antiochus IV, which some try... to say who already fulfilled this, but did not, those forget that there's parameters of this prophecy he did not serve as a blueprint for. Antiochus instead setup false IDOL worship of the false Greek god Zeus. The coming Antichrist which will fulfill the role of this "vile person" will actually exalt himself... above God, and anything that is called God, and anything that is worshiped (Paul in 2 Thess.2:4 again). Antiochus did not do that. The Antichrist/pseudo-Christ/false-Messiah, will come to the throne in Jerusalem as king by using peace and flatteries, and obviously those great signs and wonders he will do to deceive the whole world with.

Your explanation of the Seventieth 'week'; the final seven years of this age, is mostly Biblically correct.
However, you don't see that the people in all of the holy Land by that time, will be the Christian peoples. The Jews will be gone and as Jeremiah 8:10.....I shall give the [holy] Land to new owners......

The House of Judah will be gone; Jeremah 7:20, Jeremiah 10:18, Zephaniah 1:1-18, +
One proof of the Christian peoples, from every tribe, race, nation and language, being the inhabitants of all the holy Land in the end times, is in Revelation 12, where about half of them are taken to a place of safety during the 42 month period of Satanic control and the other Christians must remain in Jerusalem. Rev 12:17

False futurist fantasy. There is no antichrist in Daniel 9 or 11. The word does not exist in ancient Hebrew or Aramaic. Christ confirmed His Covenant in His Blood at Calvary. (Matthew 26:28)

False futurist fantasy. Christ's Sacrifice at Calvary in the midst of the 70th week ended all other sacrifice and oblation.

False futurist fantasy. The abomination of desolation was the Roman armies (Luke 21:20) who destroyed Jerusalem under the direction of Prince Messiah.

Of course they would, because the unbelieving Jews don't read The New Testament where Lord Jesus quoted about the "abomination of desolation" from the Book of Daniel approximately 200 YEARS AFTER... Antiochus had been dead!!!

I really cannot believe you would even say such a thing as you did, for ALL TRUE Christians well know about Jesus quoting that from the Book of Daniel around 29 A.D. (Antiochus Epiphanes lived around 165 B.C.).

So your statement shows you are either ignorant of the history about Antiochus, or that you refuse to believe The New Testament of what Jesus said... and instead follow orthodox Judaism.

So I have to ask, are you an ORTHODOX JEW and not really a Christian, having come here to a Christian website masquerading as a Christian??

Matt 24:15-22
15
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Yes, as Ezekiel 37 and Jeremiah 50:4-5 say. But as Paul tells us: Only a remnant of ethnic Jews will survive. Romans 9:27
They will be the Jews who have accepted Jesus now,

The false idea of a general Jewish redemption is taught as part of the 'rapture to heaven' theory. There is no rapture and only a few families of Judah will live to see Jesus Return. Isaiah 6:11-15, & 29:1-4

That "remnant" idea by Apostle Paul involves all... of the children of Israel, not just the Jews. The Jews make up only about 1/3 of all the seed of Israel, remember, the ten tribes split from the "house of Judah" long ago?

The false idea of a general Jewish redemption is taught as part of the 'rapture to heaven' theory. There is no rapture and only a few families of Judah will live to see Jesus Return. Isaiah 6:11-15, & 29:1-4

You are wrongly assigning today's unbelieving Jews as already judged and sentenced to perish. Even Lord Jesus didn't do that at His 1st coming! He only warned the unbelieving being under possible judgment in the future.

Not you, not I, no one today, knows just how many of the unbelieving Jews will convert to Jesus when He has returned in our near future. And in Romans 11, Apostle Paul said that ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED, quoting from the prophets. Thus you would be better just putting your theory on a shelf until you know more.

First of all I said the faithful Jews not the unbelieving Jews

Second of all why do you always assume the worst in people? Of course I’m a Christian just because a fellow brother has a different opinion than you doesn’t mean that they are not a Christian. I wouldn’t assume that about you and we are talking about non essential doctrine

Just because you think that Jesus was talking about our future and I think that Jesus was referring to what had happened to the Jews under Antiochus Epehanies would soon happen again to the first century Jews doesn’t mean that I’m not a Christian. I am also well learned about the time of the Maccabees.

Daniel foretold about the times of the Maccabees that they would be greatly persecuted under the reign of Antiochus Epehanies and that he would desecrate the temple (The abomination of desecration). Daniel gave them hope and prophesied that the faithful would prevail.

God delivered the Jews through Judas Maccabee and the temple sacrifice was reestablished.

I believe that Jesus referred back to Daniel and that He was saying what happened in the past would soon happen again within His generation but this time God wouldn’t deliver them. History proved Jesus was right and the city and temple were destroyed and the sacrificial age ended for good.

Jesus prophesied what would happen except this time He added a date to it and when it happened when Jesus said it would this proved once and for all that Jesus was God. This did convert some unbelieving Jews.

Second of all why do you always assume the worst in people? Of course I’m a Christian just because a fellow brother has a different opinion than you doesn’t mean that they are not a Christian. I wouldn’t assume that about you and we are talking about non essential doctrine
What people say MAKES ONE ASSUME what stance they are coming from. So if you don't like being corrected, then maybe you should choose your words more carefully. And when your words align more... with Judaism than with Christian doctrine, then people like me have to assume you are not a real Christian.

Jesus quoting about the "abomination of desolation" from the Book of Daniel about the end of this world is a CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE. It is NOT supported in Judaism though. But Judaism does not study the New Testament, nor believe on Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, what you said with...

"The faithful Jews who lived in the times of the Maccabees and under the persecution of Antiochus Epiphanies would greatly disagree with you."

... your words suggest what the NON-CHRISTIAN JEWS of the 2nd century B.C. thought is more important than what Jesus said in His Olivet discourse SIGNS about the end of this world, specifically His quoting that "abomination of desolation" event being for the 'end' of this world involving the "great tribulation" time (Matthew 24:15-22).

You are wrongly assigning today's unbelieving Jews as already judged and sentenced to perish.
As Isaiah 22:14 plainly tells us they are.
Would another 20 Prophesies that tell of the virtual demise of the House of Judah, convince you? Or are you like most people, deceived by the false teaching of a general Jewish redemption?

The 'all Israel' which will be saved, refers to all the true Israelites, who are people from every tribe, race, nation and language. The Overcomers of God, as Jacob was, are seen in each of the Seven Churchs of Revelation.

I don’t need to be corrected because I didn’t say anything wrong. What I said about the Jews in 165 BC isn’t a Jewish doctrine it’s history

If some world leader in a few years desiccated a future Jewish temple you would believe that to be what Jesus spoke of in the Olivit discourse wouldn’t you?

Well that is exactly what happened during the time of the Maccabees. The persecution started under Antiochus Epehanies the Old Testament beast the temple sacrifices were stopped and he desecrated the temple alter.

God then raised up the Maccabees judged and killed Antiochus and restablished the temple sacrifice.

So why does this current western world church always think that it’s always about us today when what Daniel prophesied happened after he prophesied it and it happened exactly like Daniel said it would?

It was a message to the Jews at that time to let them know what was going to happen but to also give them hope and courage to stay faithful to God and that the faithful would prevail

This doesn’t take away what Jesus said in the Olivit discourse at all so it’s not antichristian.

As Isaiah 22:14 plainly tells us they are.
The unbelieving Jews definitely have NOT been judged and sentenced to perish in the future "lake of fire" yet. To say they already have is to tell a lie.

The idea in Revelation of those who will wish for the mountains and hills to 'Fall on us' are those unbelieving Jews of today. Their saying that when Jesus returns is to show their shame for having rejected Him.

And in Romans 11, Apostle Paul told those of us in Christ to NOT be conceited about them, because God put the "spirit of slumber" (stupor per the Greek) upon them so The Gospel would go to the Gentiles.

Apostle Paul even said the unbelieving Jews are enemies for OUR SAKES...

Rom 11:28-32
28
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

HOW could the unbelieving Jews be our enemies for OUR sakes? Paul explains right here in Romans 11, speaking to Gentile believers on Christ. Without God have put the "spirit of slumber" upon the orthodox Jews, The Gospel would not have come to us Gentiles. That is how they are enemies for OUR SAKES.

And yet Paul says they are still beloved for the father's sakes because they are STILL God's chosen elect. What Paul says here is actually very simple, once one thinks about what he said.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Once again, Paul is pointing to how their 'unbelief' (from God putting blindness upon them), has served us Gentiles because it allowed The Gospel to come to us.

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

And because of Gentile's past pagan history, being without The Gospel, we obtained God's mercy through our Faith on The Gospel of Jesus Christ. And by that also, is offered to the unbelieving Jews so that they ALSO may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all.
KJV

And this is why God concluded them in unbelief, so that His mercy might be to all, them included... EVENTUALLY when Jesus returns.

So your condemnation of the unbelieving JEWS is un-Biblical, and a violent thought against our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.

Yes you did say something wrong, in your sentence that I quoted in my previous post.

You based your 'denial' of Christ quoting the "abomination of desolation" from the Book of Daniel, which placed that "abomination of desolation" event as prophecy for even PAST the time of Christ's 1st coming.

Thus your vain attempt to brand me with disagreeing with 2nd century Jews about Lord Jesus quoting from Daniel EXPOSED YOU!

No I didn’t, I said that Jesus referred back to the time of the Maccabees to say that what happened in His past would again happen in His future, thus Jesus was prophesying to still future events to His time

The unbelieving Jews definitely have NOT been judged and sentenced to perish in the future "lake of fire" yet. To say they already have is to tell a lie.
We all await the final Judgment; Revelation 20:11-15.
What the Prophets refer to is the mortal deaths of those people who are currently occupying the holy Land. Isaiah 29:1-4 is one, that plainly shows how the Lord will send fire upon them, Amos 2:4-5, and only a remnant will survive by hiding underground.
And because of Gentile's past pagan history, being without The Gospel, we obtained God's mercy through our Faith on The Gospel of Jesus Christ. And by that also, is offered to the unbelieving Jews so that they ALSO may obtain mercy.
Redemption is offered to all, it's simple: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
Reject Him, as 99% of the Jews do, and you will be lost.

What you do, is to think the Jews are all of Israel. They are only 2/12ths of Israel. It is in fact the descendants of the 10 Northern tribes who are the Christian nations of today.
So your condemnation of the unbelieving JEWS is un-Biblical, and a violent thought against our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
Sad that you are so unaware of what the Prophetic Word actually says.
The idea of a final Jewish redemption, is a tenet of the 'rapture to heaven' theory. Neither will ever happen.

Here I'm forced once again to post... just what YOU SAID...

Marty fox said:

Just what... is Marty trying to say that the Jews who lived in the times of the Maccabees would disagree with me about?? That the "abomination of desolation" event in Daniel 11 is NOT a prophecy for the end of this world, but happened in those Jew's time, which of course is false.

Why is what Marty says is false?

Because about 200 YEARS after Antiochus Epiphanes had been DEAD, Lord Jesus quoted the "abomination of desolation" prophecy in His Olivet discourse SIGNS He gave about events of the end of this world leading up to His future return. And that PROVES the Daniel 11 "abomination of desolation" prophecy was NOT fulfilled by Antiochus, nor in those Jew's times of the Maccabees.

So why can't Marty simply understand the difference between 165 B.C. when Antiochus Epiphanes lived, vs. 29 A.D. when Jesus quoted the "abomination of desolation" prophecy from the Book of Daniel???

FOLLOWING FALSE RELIGION FROM JUDAISM is where Marty is coming from. The orthodox Jews believe Antiochus already fulfilled the "abomination of desolation" prophecy.

So Daniel prophesied about a future beast persecuting the Jews and desecrating the temple then that beast being cutoff the faithful prevailing and then a few hundred years later it actually happened and you call me false? Yeah okay

Do you realize that this being fulfilled during the time of the Maccabees proves Daniel a true prophet?

Why is it false to say that was fulfilled before Jesus came when it actually happened in history do you see how unreasonable you are being?

Why is it so crazy to say that Jesus referred back to what Daniel said and then to say the same thing will happen again in Jesus future?

If a future beast will come and desecrate a future temple would it even matter to God? Would it ever be Gods temple? Didn‘t God do away with the temple and sacrificial age?
