Zach. 5:1 Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. (scroll)
2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that steals shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that swears shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
4 I will bring it forth, says the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that swears falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

Here we see the same kind of thing we saw with the little book in Rev. 10. There is a curse associated with appropriating the things of God for one's own personal benefit, while ignoring the whole truth found in the words from God.

Who are they that are thieves? Are these not those who "steal" the words of God out of context so they claim salvation for themselves? Jesus Christ is the door. All who seek to enter in another way are thieves. But people will say they have gone through the door. Really? How many have walked through the doorway that is Christ into a walk in God's presence? Have we no fear or discernment of the scale of the truth? Or can we safely assume and presume we understanding what we are claiming for ourselves? Do we fear the Lord?

And what of those who swear falsely. We are not to take the Lord's name in vain. It is holy. Those who misuse grace will be deemed as having transgressed holiness. I think of holiness as a type of radioactive plutonium...whereby one must tremble at its use. Being smug about eternal things brings an equivalent weight in the wrath of God...who is holy. The wilfull sin is against holiness. Allowing the outer man to run amok over what is only meant for the inner man.

Heb. 10: 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
