Wednesday 5-13-20, Iyar 19 5780, 4th. day of the weekly cycle, 55th. Spring day

Day 34 of the Omer, Yesod of Hod: Bonding in Humility
Psalm One Thirty One:1-3, Psalm One Hundred Four:31

Psalm One Thirty One:1-3

A Song of degrees of David
1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. 2Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. 3Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

Psalm One Hundred Four:31
31The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

Humility should not be a lonely experience. It ought to result in deep bonding and commitment. There is no stronger bond than one that comes out of humility. Does my humility separate me from others or bring us closer? Does my humility produce results? Long term results? Does it create an everlasting foundation upon which I and others can rely and build.

Exercise for the day: Use your humility to build something lasting.

Love always, Walter and Debbie

Great thoughts there; Philippians 2 also comes to mind.

It seems that though I thought I walked humbly...it wasn't until He stripped away every worldly thing from me that I found out what humility really was.....those who were jobless and homeless I didn't have pity for because they were bound up in drugs and alcohol....my motto used to be if you want to be successful hang around successful people. My whole self esteem and self worth was based on my success in the world...I never even considered my worth in God's eyes. So when it was all taken away, I was stripped of self...and humility came when I realized who my source is. I had too much confidence in my own ability. Now I put all my trust in Him, I don't fear or worry of what is happening in my life or the world around me because I know nothing can happen that He doesn't allow, and if He allows it then it is for my own good and it is an opportunity to learn a new thing.

Amen, I have had these same issues in my life, for now I know what a difference it is for me now to take His yoke upon myself through humility in learning to totally trust in Jesus Christ our Lord for what His words is saying to me.

Love always, Walter
