How does the greek word telios apply to the complete written word. In 1 Corinthians 13:10, It has been explained to me that this word means the completion of scriptures. I understand it to be completion, of full age. How do they add scriptures to this?

If you need help translating scripture, the Blue Letter Bible is a wonderful took. It translates verses into Greek/Hebrew and you can find it's definition. [IMG]http://www.blueletterbible.org/

I Corinthians 13:9 "For we know in part, and we prophesy in part."Our minds in our flesh bodies don't know everything, in fact we know very little compared to the vast knowledge of the universe and the elements that go to make it up. I Corinthians 13:10 "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."Jesus Christ is the only perfect one, and when Jesus Christ is come to this earth at the seventh trumpet then every thing that is hid from our minds today will be revealed to us. We will see the entire plan of God, for all prophecy will be fulfilled and the knowledge of the entire word of God will be planted within our minds in the Millennium age. In that time you will not have to tell your neighbor about the things of God, for they will know them automaticallyTelios1) brought to its end, finished2) wanting nothing necessary to completeness3) perfect4) that which is perfecta) consummate human integrity and virtue[IMG] of men1) full grown, adult, of full age, matureIt is from the root word "telos"from a primary tello (to set out for a definite point or goal)1) enda) termination, the limit at which a thing ceases to be (always of the end of some act or state, but not of the end of a period of time)[IMG] the end1) the last in any succession or series2) eternalc) that by which a thing is finished, its close, issued) the end to which all things relate, the aim, purpose

"Telios" is the greek word for perfect. Paul simply says that when we become perfect that is when we are with God, then we will know everything. It is similar to 1 John 3:2.

    Hi Setfree and Kriss:
Setfree >> How does the greek word telios apply to the complete written word. In 1 Corinthians 13:10, It has been explained to me that this word means the completion of scriptures. I understand it to be completion, of full age. How do they add scriptures to this?
To gather the true meaning of Paul’s statement, you must take a few steps backwards and place yourself into the shoes of member of Christ’s body walking around on the earth at the time this First Epistle To The Corinthians was written. During that time nobody had ever seen the completed Word of God laid out in 66 books like you have assembled together in the finished form. God bridged the ‘gap’ by giving the church these ‘temporary gifts’ of prophecy, knowledge and tongues, until such a time that God’s Word became “perfect” mature or complete. This 1 Corinthian Epistle was written in about 57 AD, or somewhere within the period of Acts 19, which is BEFORE anything pertaining to “The Mystery” (Ephesians 3:3) was revealed in the Prison Epistles. God was still offering the Kingdom to Israel through the “Gospel of the Kingdom” in Acts 19 in a process that would continue to Acts 28, so the ‘perfect’ was placed on hold and the early church continued enlarging amid the signs and wonders connected to these temporary sign gifts of Prophecy, Knowledge and Tongues.
Kriss >> Jesus Christ is the only perfect one, and when Jesus Christ is come to this earth at the seventh trumpet then every thing that is hid from our minds today will be revealed to us.
We disagree. Jesus Christ specifically said, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17). The “One who is good” is none other than “His God and Father” who raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). The second problem with your theory is that the Kingdom Bride received the Holy Spirit anointing on the Day of Pentecost and Scripture says,
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 1 John 2:20.“As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have NO NEED for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27.
Since the Kingdom Bride had “NO NEED for anyone to teach you,” then your statement above appears to contradict the fact that “His anointing teaches you about ALL THINGS, and is true and not a lie.” Paul is describing the truth that God’s “perfect” Word had yet to be completed in 59 AD, which includes 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy . . . well, you catch my drift . . . The Lord God made a ‘provision’ for all the members of Christ’s body living 2000 years ago to know “His will” through the Kingdom Bride members (like Peter, John and James) with the ‘sign gifts’ of Prophecy, Knowledge and Tongues, UNTIL His Living Word was complete (perfect). Today we have the completed Scripture to know and understand God’s will for the members of Christ’s body, just like the members of the coming Kingdom Dispensation of Hebrews – Revelation as their “Living and Active” Word for the upcoming 1000 Years Day of the Lord.
Kriss >> We will see the entire plan of God, for all prophecy will be fulfilled and the knowledge of the entire word of God will be planted within our minds in the Millennium age. In that time you will not have to tell your neighbor about the things of God, for they will know them automatically.
In the what? There is no such thing as any “Millennium Age” mentioned anywhere in your Bible. The upcoming 1000 Years Day of the Lord marks the time that Elijah returns to restore all things (Matthew 17:10-11), which includes the “Tabernacle of David” (Acts 15:16-18) and all Israel being saved (Romans 11:25-29). Elijah will be preaching the “Gospel of the Kingdom” and the Kingdom Disciples will have the anointing of 1 John 2:27 described above, so ‘they’ will have no need to be taught by anyone concerning the things of “Prophecy” for Israel. However, even Peter called “these things,” according to the “wisdom given him” (Paul) “hard to understand” (2 Peter 3:14-16), because everything pertaining to “The Mystery” (Ephesians 3:3) is excluded from the things of “Prophecy.” This earth will continue struggling within the current “Evil Age” (Galatians 1:4), until heaven and earth pass away (Revelation 20:11) and the New Creation appears in Revelation 21:1. The concept of a Millennium Age is a MYTH based upon a misinterpretation of a few verses of Scripture (Revelation 20:4) with no basis in reality whatsoever. If Jesus Christ is going to rule on the earth for a mere 1000 years (not), then please explain how that reign WILL END?? :0) Good Luck! Jesus Christ told Pilate that His kingdom is NOT of this world and NOT even of this realm (John 18:36). OT Prophecy sees “David” (Ezekiel 34:23-25) on the throne during this temporary 1000 Year Kingdom, while we are ruling with Christ from “IN” the Lamb in the “center of the throne” (Revelation 7:17) in heaven. Perhaps some people are uncomfortable with the notion of a ‘Rapture,’ because that means ruling with Christ IN HEAVEN and not on this earth during their Mythological 1000 Year Kingdom on this earth. :0) However, Paul’s words are CLEAR that our eyes are to stay focused on the things above:
“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, NOT on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed [Matthew 24:30-31], then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4.
The Kingdom (Ezekiel 47-48) and the Temple (Ezekiel 40 +) is restored by Elijah returning to restore ‘all things’ some 1000 years BEFORE we return with Christ in glory at the END of the age. That means David is the earthly Messiah ‘cut off’ (Daniel 9:26) and the restored Temple is the one the Antichrist uses to set up his “Abomination of Desolation” (Daniel 11:31 , Daniel 12:11-13) in Matthew 24, BEFORE Christ ever returns to Judge the living (Matthew 25:31-33) and the dead (Revelation 20:11-15). There is no time between His glorious coming at the END of the age AND the ensuing Judgment, before we head off into the New Creation of Revelation 21:1 for yet another 1000 Year Kingdom Period that already passed between Revelation 1-20. In Christ Jesus,Terral

Can the word telios by itself say scriptures? Why wouldn't they use the word grapho with it and it would make it plain? Also in 1 Corinthians 13 when the word "that" is used it is referring to:That which is perfect comes/ then that which is in part shall be done away.It shall be done away when (vs.12) face to face and I know even as also I am known. When will we see face to face and know as we are known?

Setfree >> Can the word telios by itself say scriptures? Why wouldn't they use the word grapho with it and it would make it plain?
The Holy Text is written to be interpreted over 2000 different ways, so God’s children see “the truth” and the sons of disobedience see something else. :0) The believers in our gospel had no completed Bible in 59 AD, so God bridged the gap using the temporary sign gifts of Prophecy, Knowledge and Tongues to level the playing field. Try to realize the truth that every member of Christ’s body is in competition like a race (1 Corinthians 9:24-26) for heavenly positions under Christ as the Head (Ephesians 1:22 , Colossians 1:18) and ‘you’ have God’s completed Text sitting finished right before your eyes. Should God give you this luxury and shortchange those living in 59 AD? Never! Every member of Christ’s body shall stand alone at the Judgment (2 Corinthians 5:10) in the knowledge that everyone had the same opportunities to absorb, grow in and defend ‘the truth’ of God’s Living Word, OR to fold their hands in slumber and replace good works with bad ones of the flesh. Those among us ‘rightly dividing’ (2 Timothy 2:15) the word of truth accurately will receive the greatest rewards at our Judgment, when those among us ‘wrongly dividing’ everything will suffer great loss to have their rewards handed to another. :0)
Setfree >> Also in 1 Corinthians 13 when the word "that" is used it is referring to: That which is perfect comes/ then that which is in part shall be done away. It shall be done away when (vs.12) face to face and I know even as also I am known. When will we see face to face and know as we are known?

“When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a MIRROR DIMLY, but THEN face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:11-13.
The Apostle Paul describes three sign gifts that are “done away” (prophecy, knowledge, tongues) and three that remain (faith, hope, love), by using an analogy between being a child and a mature man. The first thing to realize in gathering ‘the truth’ from Paul’s teaching is that a mirror in Paul’s day was a piece of polished metal resembling what you would see today in a house of mirrors; very distorted compared to our mirrors of today. One reason God uses specific terms in these examples is because Scripture is teaching MANY things to the members of Christ’s body on a myriad of different levels of learning and stages of development. The man of ‘faith’ reads these chapters one way, while the man of knowledge is absorbing the deeper things and the man of wisdom even deeper things indeed. God is teaching His children of faith that the sign gifts of 2000 years ago represent the ‘partial’ and ‘temporary’ condition, because Paul’s Prison Epistles containing “The Mystery” (Ephesians 3:3 , Colossians 1:26) represent just parts of the ‘perfect’ still unwritten and beyond the reach of anyone including Paul. The man of knowledge is being taught that our current dispensation of God’s grace (Ephesians 3:2) is a mystery time, when we know in part, because the reality of “Prophecy” gives us clues into our blurry mirror where we see things distorted from our current “blood witness” perspective. In other words, the antichrist is coming ‘literally’ (face to face) at the END of the age (Matthew 15:24), but he is here even now in the “mystery of iniquity” (2 Thessalonians 2:7) in a “body of sin” in the exact same way ‘we’ represent the “body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). The ‘mystery of iniquity’ is the antithesis doctrine to the “mystery of Christ” (Ephesians 3:4 Colossians 4:3), which you can understand by learning all about the latter (mystery of Christ) and holding Scripture up as a mirror to see the ‘inverse.’ [IMG]We can use this diagram to explain Paul’s use of the “mirror dimly” (Mystery) and “face to face” (Prophecy) analogies in Scripture, by realizing the blood witness aspects of the Pauline Epistles (in red) ‘mirror’ events that will take place during the upcoming 1000 Years Day of the Lord. The antichrist appears today to stand in the “Holy Place” of men’s souls in the very way he stands in the Holy Place over in the 1000 Years Day of the Lord (Matthew 24:15), but today he comes SPIRITUALLY to many members; just like “Christ in you” (Colossians 1:27) is a reality for everyone believing our gospel. The man of wisdom (Revelation 13:18) knows the 666 antithesis ‘man’ opposing New Jerusalem bears the same ‘triune’ image of Christ Jesus (F+S+HS), but on the opposite side of the equation like this:[IMG]In short, God is teaching the members of Christ’s body about the ‘antithesis’ Satan, Beast, False Prophet Heavenly “man” using every word about “Christ Jesus” (F+S+HS) the “one Mediator” standing between God and Men also as a Living Triune “Man” with a spirit (Father), Soul (Son) and Body (Holy Spirit). Therefore, the ‘perfect’ coming is Scripture itself to the ‘man of faith’ reading Paul’s words literally in this Corinthian Epistle, while the man of knowledge recognizes the patterns within God’s Living Word and realizes ‘the perfect’ is also a reference to comparisons between the ‘blood witness’ (Pauline Epistles) and ‘water witness’ (Kingdom Epistles) components of the Mystery versus Prophecy. Your soul ‘mirrors’ your physical body in the same exact ‘blood witness’ (soul) and water witness (body) relationship, but the soul part is seen like ‘in a mirror dimly,’ while the physical body you see ‘face to face.’ Therefore (if you are able to follow along), God is teaching MANY things to many members of Christ’s body on many different levels of understanding and spiritual growth in every single line of Scripture, as your spiritual eyes develop through the man of faith, knowledge and wisdom stages of development. Many of my sayings will fly above your head, because my posts are also drafted using God’s three tiered faith, knowledge and wisdom format, which means my true brothers and sisters IN Christ Jesus will continue gathering more and more from my work with each reading. After all, “Christ in me” (Colossians 1:27) has been enlarging within my soul (heaven in me) with “God IN Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:19) for a very long time, which means I have a head start and “these things” (2 Peter 3:14-16) have had plenty of time to mature into a massive garden within my own being. This also means that all I have is seeds (the same as everyone) and God must cause the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7), which can take forever or a short amount of time; depending on you. :0)In Christ Jesus,Terral

Why dont you explain these verses if the word doesnt mention the Millieum (1000 years) Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Hi Kriss:If you posts are directed at me, then please place my name at the top to avoid confusion. Then kindly 'quote >>' something from my work to give your statements context to something in this debate.
Kriss >> Why dont you explain these verses if the word doesnt mention the Millieum (1000 years) Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years . . .
The mention of ‘a thousand years’ in no way places Christ on any earthly throne for any 1000 Year temporary kingdom, but this “Telious” Thread is not the proper place for that debate. Please start a “Jesus Christ Will Rule On Earth For 1000 Years” Thread and present your arguments using these or any verses you wish and I will be happy to come behind to offer my advocating or opposing arguments using Scripture. 2 Timothy 2:15. That way Setfree’s Topic can remain on track and we can pick up the “His Heavenly Kingdom” (2 Timothy 4:18) Debate on the appropriate thread under that Topic Title. God bless you,In Christ Jesus,Terral

absoultly the day nor the hour of his coming only the father in Heaven knows but we are told to know the season and that season started in 1948 with the restoration of Israel as a nation for the first time in some 2000 plus years just as prophesized (read the Parable of the fig tree Denver has a study on top front page our you can do a search and find mine) but we are told before the generation that saw this event come to pass before that generation passes away Christ would return Now there are 3 generations in the Bible a 40year,a 70 year, and a 120 year, people do not normally live to be 120 so that leaves us with 70 years and 40 years 40 have passed and that leaves 70 years and this year 2008 is the 60th year anniverserySo assuming God is using the 70 year generation we have ten years at the outsidebut he only says that the generation will not all pass away before he comes so that could basically be anytime during that 10 years

No, I believe this verse is a future prophecy and will not happen until the time of the End and I do not think that will happen until after Antichrist gets here he comes first in the sixth trump (Christ does not return untill the seventh)The prophisizing will be to guide and tell his Children not to follow the fake christThe same way God has always sent prophets to warn and guide his Children in the old testament They along with the two wittness's will be our light in the dark God never leaves his children in the dark without a candle to guide the way

You know it is important not to minimize this verse when God tells us he will send prophets to do a thing You need to remember Amos, Isiah, Eze ect.And God tells us something else about a true prophet a true prophet of God is 100% right 100% of the time and he/she will talking in a public Forum that the whole world will see God is coming to correct and gather all his children throughout the entire world not some little corner of the earth(Israel) like the first time and especially not in some corner church or not even a giant church This time its about the Entire world. So it will be very obvious to the World when his Sons and Daughters start prophesizingThis will not be a private little thing only a few people hear 15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'Now we can take from this that prophet must produce good fruit Well before we can judge whether the fruit is good or not we must be able to hear and understand itWhy did God give us guidelines to judge prophesy and warn us about false prophetsif we are not to judge what they say Now as I told you before until this happens the prophets we have now are better loosely described or defined as to teach or speak a thing of truth but it still must pass the same test if it is from God it is 100% accurate and must pass the test any christian in good standing should be able to test the fruit out for accuracy another words if I am teaching(prophesying) to you a thing you should be able to check me out in scripture to see if I am telling you the truth. Lets say I tell you Murder is a sinyou or any christian that hears this can look to the law and see I am correct my fruit was goodNow there are other types of prophecy's and prophets and those that dream ect.but all must still pass the same test Example: I am one who has dreams but it is my duty as a child of God to test the prophesy against the same rules the bible lays out it must bear good fruit if for example I dream an event is going to happen it had better happen or it was not good fruit. Now not to get into the tongue argument again but if one cant understand what they are saying how can one test it?? So calling this kind of murmuring prophesy does not pass the test. I dont now what you want to call it but it is not prophesizing as it can not be tested either by the speaker or any other chrstian. All the prophets of old understood what they were saying even if they didn't understand what they were seeing. they had been tested (their fruit proven Good)
