    Is anyone still pre-trib rapture.
    I know it had a hold on everyone for quite a few years and I feel the tides are turning.
    Prib-trib rapture is based on a few verses in the Bible that some people have misused.
    1 Thessalonians 4:16-18;
    Then 2 verses later, the Apostle Paul is talking about the Day of the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3;
    Conveniently, some guy 300 years ago put chapters in the Bible to cause all kinds of confusion that goes on to this day.
    People like to use Revelation 3:10;
    That just means you'll escape the Great White Throne Judgement because that's when God's wrath really swings forward.
    People don't want to think that, they want the easy way out.
    "Oh, God will never let me feel pain, oh."
    Tell that to the Christians who went into the arena to meet the lions.
    Now that's no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pre-trib is for sissies.
    God is building up an army to face anything the enemy has.
    Put on the armor of God and share the Gospel through prayer and the Word of God.

    Well said, good post!

    The trials, and tribulations of this world, But the end will try the Hearts of Many. The true dedicated believer will go forward into the fight, and stand with the Word, for the Word, and the Word that dwelt among us !

    :eek: Yeah, the early Christians were true dedicated solders. I'd much rather get my head lopped off than get eaten alive by an animal or burned alive at the stake...........meanwhile, today's "soldiers" of God believe they are so special that God will just whisk them out of the way of trouble. They will get a very rude awakening when the time comes.

    Since the Rapture has absolutely nothing to do with the Tribulation, I am definitely with those who believe in a Premillennial, Pre-Tribulation Rapture.

    What were the first words which Christ said when speaking about the Rapture (John 14:1-3)? LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED. Tribulation is trouble, and the Tribulation and Great Tribulation are periods of trouble and divine judgment -- DIVINE WRATH -- for the wicked, the unbelieving, and the ungodly. On the other hand Christians are given this word to understand why the are not subject to the Tribulation:

    1 THESSALONIANS 5

    9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
    10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
    11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do
    .
    Actually the Great White Throne Judgment comes AFTER the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation. So study Rev 6-18 and then go to Rev 20.

    The early Christians were looking forward to a pre trib iminent rapture. That the rapture was iminent was the context of the letters Paul wrote to the churches such as Thesolanica and Corinthians.

    Actually some of the early church fathers taught a pre trib rapture including Irenaeus and Cyprian.

    Also,
    Forgive me if I read your post wrong, but are you saying that the Bible was added to post canon?

    [IMG]So are you saying that the "strength" of their faith in Jesus was based on an obvious lie? Should a lie stand for the benefit of helping the saint get through tribulation? Is a pre-trib rapture what Paul really meant or is this in fact what the early Christians assumed he meant? Obviously, the latter was the case. Time always tells the truth. Where was the Holy Spirit at to give them interpretation on this matter? Does the Holy Spirit lie? Are you absolutely certain that your presumptions about what the early Christians were thinking are correct?

    No I am saying that everyone including Paul believed in an iminent rapture because the lie of a non pre trib rapture hadn't spread much by that time.

    Oh, so the rapture not being pre-tribulation is "the lie"? Ok got it, as I always say, time always tells the truth, as it certainly did for them. :p

    Are you saying that time always tells the truth to imply that the early church had it wrong? Jesus said that in the last days there will be false teachings. Think about it.

    If you are claiming they believed they were gonna get whisked away by God from the horror show that was coming upon them, then yes, there assumptions about what Paul meant were obviously wrong. It never happened, didn't it? So why believe the same will happen to YOU before the Great Tribulation? Do you believe yourself to be any more special than any christian that ever endured tribulation in history? I have no problems believing that man can get doctrine incorrect. The early Christians were not infallible just because they were the first, only God is infallible.

    That does not prove anything. God has His own time-table. Christ was promised as the Messiah about 4000 years before His coming.
    You are confusing the trials and tribulations of Christians with the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation -- which are definitely not for Christians.

    Canon?
    What's canon?
    Is it in the Bible?
    Get rid of it!

    That post was rather presumptuous sir. I don't know if I will be raptured before I die. Only Enoch was that special. However, I believe in a pre trib because it's biblical not because of some attitude. The argument you have against pre trib and that most usually have is conjecture and talk about the attitude of the pre-tribber rather than scripture.

    Let me be more clear. I was asking if you stated that the Bible was added to after it had been canonized.

    How do we know which "Heaven" Enoch was taken to? And how can we reconcile the rapture of him with"
    John 3:13
    13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [a]who is in heaven.
