What is "hope" in the context of Christianity?

Hope, is faith.... in evidence not seen.

Hope, is trusting.....when the proof of the end result is not revealed to you, yet.

If you are not born again, then "hope" to you, is luck, chance, a roll of the dice, and finger's crossed.
BUT, if you are a born again Christian, then Hope, has a reality. = Hope, is God.

Did you ever read the scripture in a KJV< that says, "you are saved by HOPE"? Romans 8:24.
So, in this context we find our understanding that "Hope IS God", as it is GOD who saves........So, "Hope", is God our Savior.

God is Hope, and God is the reason for our Hope, as without Him there is no Hope at all.
Atheists have no Hope, because they have no GOD.
But BECAUSE of Him, for us...God's redeemed.....there is always hope., = because we have God as our eternal Hope...... and Hope IS God.

Prayers, are Hope that are based in reality and Spiritual truth.
When we Pray we are to BELIEVE they will be answered, = trusting in God, who Himself is our Hope.
Faith, is Hope......Faith, is trust, IN, the One who IS Hope.

""You are saved by Hope".. means, you are saved BY THE ONE WHO IS HOPE, as without HIM, there is no Hope, and there is no Salvation. "Christ IN You = THE HOPE of Glory".
"Glory" is Heaven.

So, can you lose your salvation?
No.

Can you undo being born again?
No.

Will God ever unwash you in the Blood of Jesus, and put your sin back on you and take your sin off of Jesus who bore them ALL, and died for them ALL, and rose from the dead to prove it?
No.

And if Jesus, who Himself IS Eternal Life.....If He is in you, and you are "in Christ", then you have Eternal life because you have the one iN YOU< who Himself IS Eternal life, which is a term for Salvation.
Salvation IS Eternal Life
JESUS IS Salvation.

So, can you remove Jesus from being inside you, once He as God lives within you, "sealed unto the day of Redemption"?
No.

The truth is, the only reason a person would worry about "losing their salvation", is because they dont understand WHO their salvation is, and WHO saved them with and through the Blood of Jesus.

"My HOPE is built on nothing less, then Jesus's Blood and Righteousness".
What is your's built on?
What ?

And this person, who believes they can lose their salvation, needs to ask themselves......>"WHO saved me, and what keeps me saved, and if i DIED RIGHT NOW WHO am i trusting to get me to Heaven"......and RIGHT THERE<...> is where they have not understood the "HOPE" WHO saved them.

God is the One who is our eternal Hope.
God is the One who saved US through a Cross.
God is the Holy One who said...>if you take Jesus, i'll take you...."all that come unto ME, i will never let go"..."you shall never perish"... So, God will never let you go, as to let you go would be to insult the price that was paid to save you.
Think of it like this... Jesus is a Soul Winner, who uses His Blood and a Cross to save BILLIONS, and God His Father is not going to take a single one away, (whom Jesus died for, in agony), while suffering on a CROSS to win.....redeem.

YOU the born again, are Kept Saved by the Same God who saved you through the Blood of Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Just to be safe, I want to quote the following scriptures:

1Jo 1:7, But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jo 1:8, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jo 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Obviously, confessing our sins is what we do to be walking in the light; and it is as a result of this that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

To walk in the Light as "he" is IN the Light, is to be in the same Light according to right believing.

See, with God everything is words and faith and Love.
So, when we walk in the Light, we are walking according to the correct understanding of the word of God, (walking IN the Spirit) and have done the "work" of God (faith in Christ) which causes us to be born again, which is why we are always cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.

1Pet 3:15 . . Always be ready to make a defense before everyone that
demands of you a reason for the hope in you,

The Greek word for "hope" in Peter's instructions is elpis (el pece') which
means to anticipate (usually with pleasure) and to expect with confidence.
Note the elements of anticipation, and expectation, and confidence.

In other words: elpis hope is a know-so hope rather than a cross your
fingers hope.

So, unless someone knows for proof-positive, beyond even the slightest
glimmer of sensible doubt, that they have a passport to the kingdom of God
locked in and irrevocable, then of course it is impossible for them to comply
with Peter's instructions seeing as they would not yet have the kind of hope
about which he wrote.

Rom 12:12 . . Rejoice in the hope.

When people are praying for the best, while in the back of their mind
dreading the worst, they have absolutely no cause for rejoicing; but they do
have plenty of cause to fear the unknown.

Elpis hope is one of the three principal elements of Christianity (1Cor
13:13). It's also a calling. (Eph 4:4)

When people are lacking the kind of hope described by the Greek word elpis,
then I believe it's safe to assume that they have not yet responded to God's
call; or worse, He has not called them; and quite possibly never will.

I've got to ask a question concerning the scripture you've posted, do you have problems fellowshipping with people?

I would say those looking for signs do not have this hope.

This comment is off-topic, but I seriously think it's something that needs
saying from time to time.

Internet forums have given many of Christ's obscure followers a convenient
venue for sharing their time-won knowledge and experience with a
worldwide audience. For the world's sake, I highly recommend making an
effort to compose legible posts; neatly arranged, sensible, coherent, and
tidy.

Excessive bolding, underscoring, and italics, lack of adequate paragraphing,
twitter spelling, unnecessary emogies, horrible grammar, confusing mixtures
of fonts and colors, and/or shouting with caps and oversize letters, makes
for tiresome clutter and annoying graffiti that leave a bad impression.

Some people's posts resemble the obnoxious placards of worked-up
protesters and political activists; yelling, shrieking, and sometimes even
spraying spittle. They are beyond reason and objectivity in their desperation
to be taken seriously. Apparently they assume that if only they shout loud
enough, make themselves annoying enough, and hold out long enough;
maybe they'll get their point across and somebody will finally listen.

I rather suspect that some people regard forums as a canvas for painting
their comments instead of composing them. Well; that might be okay for
outsiders, they can be as messy as they want because their comments don't
matter anyway. But for those of us who honestly believe ourselves to be
representing God's son; it's unacceptable because it reflects on Christ and
makes him look like his followers are desperate kooks.

"Conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ." (Phil 1:27)

"And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to
everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must
gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading
them to a knowledge of the truth" (2Tim 2:24-26)
