I, personally, believe that the only sin that condemns a person in this age of God’s grace is the sin of unbelief. Belief = faith, trust, confidence.
In the Garden it wasn’t eating the apple that was the sin. The sin was unbelief in what God said. Eve believed Satan rather than God.
When the Jewish people reached the gateway city to the promised land God promised them that He (God) would drive the people that lived there out with Hornets. But the people did not believe God so He made them wander in the wilderness for 40 years. Their sin was unbelief in what God said.
The Jews were promised a Messiah and King but when that Messiah and King came they did not believe Him. They trusted in their religious activities instead. Here again it was the sin of unbelief that caused God to turn to the Gentiles through Paul’s gospel of God’s grace. Paul was to take it to all of mankind..
In this age of God’s grace, all sins have been paid for by Jesus on the cross. However if a person does not believe their sins have been paid for they are committing the sin of unbelief. It is this sin of unbelief that condemns a person; unbelief in Paul’s gospel that was given to him by Jesus.
According to Paul’s gospel of God’s grace the world will be judged on the basis of the shed blood on the cross. If a person does not believe all his/her sins were paid for when Jesus shed His blood then that person is committing the sin of unbelief.
Now I know that many will say this gospel is a licensee to sin. Well I did not establish it, God did through Paul According to Paul if we sin in this world we will suffer for it in this world. However God has said what He has cleansed let no man call common or unclean.
Acts 11:8-9
8 But I said, 'Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.'
9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, 'What God has cleansed you must not call common.'
NKJV
Some will say this is all about food but it was to show Peter that if God has cleansed a Gentile Peter must not call that Gentile unclean. After this Peter was sent to a Gentile, Cornelius. Gentiles were unclean according to the Jewish religion.
Based on the above I am completely convinced that the only sin that condemns in this age of Grace is the sin of unbelief.
Heb 10:28-29
28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
NKJV
