Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel’s Seventy Weeks prophecy is God’s timeline to accomplish the restitution of all things:

Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Seventy weeks of years (490 years) were given to bring an end to sin and bring in everlasting righteousness for mankind. Jesus Christ was sent by the Father to accomplish this great work:

1John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

THE COVENANT MADE TO ABRAHAM

In the book of Genesis, Christ made a covenant with Abraham:

Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, 6 So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates…

Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

What exactly is this covenant?

The covenant was God’s promise to Abraham to multiply his offspring to be as numerous as the stars of heaven and to give to them as an inheritance the Promised Land.

The inheritance to be given to Abraham and his seed was based on a promise made by God and is not contingent on the works of man (the Law). For that reason, Christ came to establish the New Covenant of Grace through Faith which will provide the pathway to fulfill the promise made to Abraham. This New Covenant is 100% the work of Christ and it does not rely on the works of man for it to be fulfilled.

Who is the “seed” of Abraham?

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

In God’s eyes, the seed of Abraham is NOT his physical descendants. Abraham’s seed is a spiritual lineage and is based on the circumcision of the heart. This circumcision of the heart is referring to the spiritual change which occurs within a believer at their moment of conversion. This change occurs when a person receives the Latter Rain of the Spirit. This work of Christ is the sole determining factor as to whether a person is a seed of Abraham and has a right to the inheritance of the Promised Land.

If the seed of Abraham is spiritual, then isn’t the Promised Land likewise spiritual?

Yes! The Promised Land is spiritual and is represented by the Kingdom of Heaven. The Kingdom of Heaven is our inheritance and our salvation. It is the more abundant life that Christ said He came to bring us:

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

How many people are going to receive this inheritance?

All mankind will receive the inheritance promised to Abraham.

1Tim 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

As the Word of God proclaims, salvation will come to all mankind someday. However, there is an order to mankind’s salvation: it will come in TWO groups of people and in TWO ages of time.

The first group of mankind to receive the inheritance promised to Abraham are the people who have been chosen from the foundation of the world. These chosen “few” will be saved in this present age. They will be the “many brethren” of Christ:

Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

This first group is also called the First Fruits of Christ’s harvest of mankind.

James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The second group to receive their inheritance is the remaining bulk of mankind. They will be resurrected at the start of the final age and will travel the Pathway to Salvation to its completion. At the end of the final age, the promise to Abraham will be fulfilled. It will then be testified to be true that all who died “in Adam” is the same all who have been made alive “in Christ”:

1Cor 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

CONTINUED FROM THE ORIGINAL POST

THE 70TH WEEK

At the start of the 70th week (483 years), Christ started His ministry on earth to fulfill the covenant He made with Abraham:

Matt 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, 15 Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Gal 3:17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

At this time, the final 7 year week of Daniel’s Seventy weeks of years commenced. When this last week of years is completed, Christ will bring an end to sin, make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness.

To complete this mission, Christ willingly went to the cross at the 3 ½ year mark and was cut off.

This event at the cross stopped the literal countdown of the last 7 years remaining of Daniel’s prophecy. The remaining 3 ½ years will be fulfilled spiritually under the New Covenant of Grace through Faith.

At the cross, Christ’s sacrifice provided the Pathway to Salvation for mankind. As a result of Christ’s death and resurrection, the Old Covenant of Law was fulfilled and the New Covenant of Grace through Faith began. This change is shown to us by verse 27:

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Christ’s death on the cross caused the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. No longer can mankind approach God through the Old Covenant of Law (man’s works). Now the only approach to God is under the New Covenant of Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ who will perform all the necessary works for mankind’s salvation.

The New Covenant is also a spiritual covenant. In other words, all the works which Christ will perform are done within mankind. To be saved, we all must be spiritually converted from being a child of the Devil to being a child of God.

With this change from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant, God will longer dwell in a physical temple. His new temple will be made without hands. This new temple is mankind.

Mark 14:58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

1Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

THE REMAINING 3 ½ YEARS

The last 3 ½ years of Daniel’s prophecy is also presented in scripture as Time, Times and half a time, 1260 days, and 42 months. These terms are spiritual symbols and do not represent literal time.

At the end of the final age, when the last person is saved, the remaining 3 ½ years of Daniel’s prophecy will be fulfilled and Christ will have put an end to sin and will have brought in everlasting righteousness.

Christ will accomplish this goal by causing all mankind to travel the Pathway to Salvation that He has established. At the core of this pathway is the Early and Latter Rains.

THE EARLY AND LATTER RAIN

The remaining 3 ½ years starts WITHIN a person when they receive the Early Rain of the Spirit from Christ. This is the "earnest amount" (the down payment).

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance (Early Rain) until the redemption of the purchased possession (Latter Rain, salvation), unto the praise of his glory.

The 3 1/2 years ends when the believer receives the Latter Rain of the Spirit. This is the full amount.

James also presents the Early and Latter Rain below:

Jam 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the EARLY and LATTER rain. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Christ is the Husbandman (farmer). The Precious Fruit of the Earth is the child of God who will be harvested from the Earth. The Earth represents the carnal & sinful world (mankind). The farmer “hath long patience for it” because birthing many new children of God is a long process which is just getting started in this age with the harvest of the First-Fruits.

At the end of verse 7, James says that the growing season for Christ’s harvest of mankind starts with the Early Rain. It is at this point in time that an unbeliever becomes a called out Christian. The Early Rain represents the receiving of the down-payment of the Holy Spirit. However, the Early Rain of the Spirit is not sufficient for them to grow to maturity and produce fruit. It leaves the new believer carnally minded and spiritually blind.

Because of these spiritual deficiencies, the called out believer needs Christ to return with Latter Rain of the Spirit. The Latter Rain is also known as the Baptism of the Spirit. However, this rain will not fall on the believer until the established time for their individual 3 ½ years period comes to an end.

Later in James, he mentions the drought that occurs between the Early and Latter Rains:

James 5:17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

During this time of Elijah’s 3 ½ years of drought, a called out believer will attempt to combine their own works with Grace through Faith (can't serve two masters, Mat 6:24). As a result, they will fall away. Falling away happens when a believer turns to religion (own works) for salvation.

Religion is Satan’s prescribed way of approaching God. And since Satan masquerades as Christ, he will tempt the believer to approach God through religion. He does this by sending the spirit of anti-Christ to the believer. When Satan’s temptations are coupled with man’s carnal nature (which prefers works over faith), the believer easily and quickly falls away.

Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desires the new: for he saith, The old is better.

When Satan’s deceptions run their full course within the believer, a worsened carnal state is developed.

Christ said it this way:

Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself SEVEN other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

The SEVEN Other Spirits is a spiritual term that represents the spirit of anti-Christ which will cause a worsened carnal state to develop within the believer. With this worsened carnal state, the believer is now given a new name called the Man of Sin, the son of perdition:

2Thes 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the Day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that MAN OF SIN be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Once this worsened carnal state occurs within a believer, it will cause the “overspreading of abominations” (Dan 9:27) which makes the Lord’s temple (themselves) desolate.

In this age, if a believer has been chosen as one of Christ’s First Fruits, Christ will come to them a second time before they physically die. When Christ comes, He will bring the Latter Rain of the Spirit to them. With this outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the believer will be born again and converted. The 3 ½ years remaining of Daniel’s prophecy will be fulfilled for them and they will receive their inheritance.

If the believer has not been chosen, they will physically die in their worsened carnal state, leaving their 3 ½ years unfulfilled. Later, when the bodily resurrection occurs, they will enter into the final age still in their worsened carnal state. It is at this point that the Day of the Lord arrives for them. Their judgment will continue until they have paid the last penny. After their judgment is complete, Christ will pour out the Latter Rain of the Spirit upon them. At that time, the 3 ½ years will be fulfilled within them and they will receive their promised inheritance.

Here is a quick summary of what I presented above.

SUMMARY

Seventy weeks of years (490 years) were ordained for Christ to put an end to sin and to bring in everlasting righteousness. After 483 literal years had passed, Christ started His ministry on earth when He was baptized by John the Baptist. At the midpoint of the last week of years, Christ was crucified and was cut off. This marked the change from the Old Covenant of Law to the New Covenant of Grace through Faith. This change caused the sacrifice and oblation to cease. This change also ended the physical time calculation of the 70 weeks of years. That calculation ended with 3 ½ years remaining. Since the New Covenant is spiritual, the remaining 3 ½ years likewise became spiritual and are no longer physical years.

The 3 ½ years remaining of Daniel’s prophecy will start within a person when they receive the Early Rain of the Spirit and are called out from the world.

Shortly after receiving the Early Rain, the believer will be deceived by Satan and will fall away. The believer will commit the sin that leads to death and the Abomination of Desolation will occur. The believer will then fall under Satan’s complete influence by the spirit of anti-Christ and will become a Man of Sin.

If the believer has been chosen from the foundation of the world, the Second Coming of Christ will come to the believer in this age after their spiritual condition has been made worse (Man of Sin).

Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

At the end of the 1260 days, after the “power of the holy people” has been scattered, the Latter Rain of the Spirit will be poured out on the believer and cause the birth of a new child of God. After this salvation event, the Day of the Lord will arrive and bring judgment to the Man of Sin/Old Man. Once the conversion process has been completed, the believer will have their promised inheritance.

Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The “time of the end” is speaking of the conversion event. It is at this time that the believer is given eyes that can see so that Daniel’s prophecies will be “unsealed” for them.

The Pathway to Salvation is 100% the work of Christ. And since Christ is love and love cannot fail, mankind’s salvation is a certainty. When the last person is saved in the final age, Daniel's prophecy will be fulfilled and all mankind will be in the Kingdom of Heaven:

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

At this time, Abraham’s spiritual “seed” will be as numerous as the stars and they will all have their promised inheritance of the Promised Land.

Daniel’s Seventy Weeks prophecy is God’s timeline to accomplish the restitution of all things:
Actually, it was, I believe, completed at the 1st Coming of Christ. The prophecy ends with the accomplishment of 6 things that Christ accomplished at the Cross, and with the prophecy of the Abomination of Desolation, which destroys the city and the sanctuary (70 AD).
In God’s eyes, the seed of Abraham is NOT his physical descendants.
I have to disagree. In context, Abraham's seed is specifically and explicitly speaking of Abraham's physical descendants. It represents, however, a distinction between physical descendants who have the faith of Abraham and those who do not. We may indeed call the physical descendants of faith "spiritual." But we may *not* therefore indicate they are not physically distinguished from other races and nations.

God, in Gen 17, extends the promise of Abraham's inheritance beyond the physical seed and the physical land of Israel to include many other races and nations of faith. This does not nullify promises that God initially made regarding Abraham's literal physical descendants.

You should understand that Paul, in Gal 3.16, utilizes the singular "seed" not to negate a plurality of descendants, but rather, to deny that there are a plurality of "faiths" involved. "Seed" is used by Paul to indicate that the plurality of Abraham's descendants are singular with respect to faith, as represented by faith in the one Christ.

This is a corporate plurality, and obviously references the plurality of Abraham's descendants.* It is only the "faith" that Paul is denying can indicate a plurality of faiths. There is only one "kind" of faith, namely faith in Christ. Therefore, the corporate "seed" of Abraham, which includes a vast number of descendants, are of only one "kind" of faith, the faith of Christ.

Gal 3.16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

*
For example, the word "corporation" itself is singular and designates a plurality of components. A corporation would incorporate many people, and yet by definition denies that it is more than a single corporation in itself.

"Corporation," therefore, is a "corporate singularity," and though it references something singular does not deny a plurality of components. Similarly, "seed," for Paul, is a corporate singularity, and represents a singularity of faith, even though it includes a plurality of Abraham's descendants, who have this one faith.

Dear Mr. Kluth,

You said:

You seem to be mixing the physical of the Old Covenant with the spiritual of the New Covenant. Understanding the differences between these two covenants is very critical in helping to unlock the truth of scripture.

None of the end-time prophecies teach on the physical destruction of the temple. Those prophecies should be applied spiritually within a person. I'll try to explain.

The New Covenant of Grace through Faith is a spiritual covenant. This means that Christ's work occurs "within" mankind. All the prophecies of scripture which are left to be fulfilled are spiritual. This includes the last 3 1/2 weeks of Daniel's prophecy because the change from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant began at the cross in the "midst of the week".

Christ's physical ministry was 3 1/2 literal years in length and was under the Old Covenant. Christ's spiritual ministry will cover the last 3 1/2 years (not literal time) and is under the New Covenant. This truth is key to understanding much of scripture, especially the prophecies.

When ever you see the spiritual terms "time, times and a half, 3 1/2 years, 1260 days or 42 months, they are representing the last 3 1/2 years of Daniel's prophecy. They are fulfilled within an individual person. The time begins when the person receives the Early Rain and it ends when they receive the Latter Rain. This time period can vary greatly in literal time; from months, to years and even from this age to the final age.

When Christ died at the cross, He earned the Keys to Death & Hell. With these keys, He can now resurrect mankind, both spiritually and bodily. Also, His blood became the perfect and final sacrifice required under the Law for the forgiveness of sins. Finally, at the cross, Christ became mankind's near kinsman redeemer because His blood also purchased mankind's sin debt (the debt of death). With these accomplishments from the cross, Christ now has the power to save mankind. Christ does this by individually coming TWICE to each and every person who has ever lived. When He comes the first time, He gives the person the Early Rain of the Spirit. This begin the last 3 1/2 years countdown (not literal time) within that person. When Christ comes to them a second time (the second coming), He brings salvation with Him and pours out the Latter Rain of the Spirit. This ends the 3 1/2 years for that person. He will repeat this process until the last of mankind is saved.

Heb 9:28 So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

In this age, Christ will not come to most people, but He does come to "many". The "many" are the called out believers in the church. Then from that group of "many", He will come a "second time" to a "few" of them and pour out the Latter Rain. The Latter Rain is the event where salvation comes to the person.

You said:
I have to disagree. In context, Abraham's seed is specifically and explicitly speaking of Abraham's physical descendants.

In the spiritual language of Christ, context is not that important because Christ teaches His truth "here a little and there a little". To understand the full truth of a matter, we must find all the places in scripture which teaches on that subject and then we must assembled them:

Isa 28: 9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another language will he speak to this people. 12 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Psa 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

The term "promised land" represents mankind's salvation. It is not a physical piece of land. All the historical events which occurred under the Old Covenant are "types" which teach spiritual truths which are fulfilled under the New Covenant. Also, under the New Covenant, the physical descendants of Abraham are no longer considered Jews. Paul makes this very clear in this verse:

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

The promises made to Abraham apply only to his spiritual descendants. This is what scripture means when it says to rightly divide the Word.

Paul taught about these types of the Old Covenant in this verse:

1Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened to them as types, and have been written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

Notice how Paul applies the term "ages". He is not speaking of a literal, physical end of the ages. Paul is speaking of the spiritual end of the ages. Those spiritual ages come to an end for an individual when they receive the Latter Rain when the last 3 1/2 spiritual years of Daniel's prophecy are fulfilled within them. For the Elect, the ends of the ages comes upon them when they are saved.

I can stress this point enough about the difference between the physical Old Covenant and the spiritual New Covenant. Until a person applies that difference to the teachings of scripture, the truth will remain "veiled".

Dear Covenantee,
I do not know the answer to your question.

Just so you know, I no longer place any value in what Orthodox Christian leaders teach. I only place value in what God's Word teaches.

The answer to my question is "no one".

You are espousing a modernist private interpretation of Daniel 9:24.

What recognized defender of the true faith in historic orthodox post-apostolic Christianity before the 19th century denied that Christ fulfilled Daniel 9:24 perfectly and completely at Calvary?
How could Daniel 9:24 have been "fulfilled" when sin and evil is rampant in this world, and Satan continues to remain the "god of this world"? "Everlasting righteousness" on earth and in Israel means literally "everlasting righteousness".

At the same time I believe that FaithWillDo has made a bit of a mishmash of this prophecy also. For example this is totally incorrect: "In God’s eyes, the seed of Abraham is NOT his physical descendants." The very first time the Abrahamic Covenant is stated in Genesis 15, God specifically tells Abraham that his descendants will occupy the land between the Nile and the Euphrates. That is the future land of "Greater Israel".

So what we see here is just tons of confusion and a total mishmash. The reign of the Antichrist ("the prince that shall come") is not even mentioned, when the Bible specifically tells us that he will be assigned the first 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th week.

There is no "Antichrist" in Daniel 9:24-27. That is a delusion and deception originating in the Jesuit futurism of the historical apostate papacy's counter-Reformation.

There is only one Individual identified as a prince in the passage.

He is Messiah.

The answer to my question is "no one".

You are espousing a modernist private interpretation of Daniel 9:24.
Dear Covenantee,
Salvation does not occur until Christ comes to a person and pours out both the Early and Latter Rain.

Jam 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receives the EARLY and LATTER RAIN. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Salvation is Christ's spiritual work which He is doing under the New Covenant. His work is presently ongoing and it will continue until the last of mankind is saved. Only then, will Daniel 9:24 be completed.

As I said earlier, I place no value in the teachings of Orthodox Christianity. Just from a worldly perspective, I find it amazing that anyone places any value in them because there is no unity of beliefs in Orthodox Christianity. From the last numbers I've seen, there are around 2,000 different denominations/sects of Christianity in the world. Why would anyone believe anything coming from any of those 2000 churches when they have the ultimate source for truth readily available to them: God's Word.

The tower of Babel is a "type" for the confusion of languages within the churches of the world. You are making a mistake to give any value to anything they teach.

Everlasting righteousness was already literally fulfilled, "brought in", 2,000 years ago.
At Calvary.
That's how.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

1 John 2:29
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

If it wasn't already everlasting righteousness, tell us from Scripture when it ended.

See post 13 re. everlasting righteousness.

From the early church fathers to the Reformers, there is complete unanimity in recognizing the complete and perfect fulfillment of Daniel 9:24 at Calvary.

Daniel 9:24-27, Seventy Literal Weeks Explained "Future"?

Daniel's 70 weeks are literal 7 day periods, or 490 literal days.

If Daniel meant 490 years he would have written

(Four Hundred Ninety Years)

Daniel had no restrictions in "Writing" exact numerology as seen below.

Daniel 6:1KJV
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

Daniel 8:14KJV
And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Daniel 12:11KJV
And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Below in Daniel 10:2-3 we see just another example of Daniel's literal weeks, as Daniel mourned and fasted for 3 literal weeks or 21 days.

Daniel 10:2-3KJV
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

Below in Daniel 9:24-27 we see 70 literal "Future" weeks or 490 days.

When the "Future" call/commandment goes out in Jerusalem to build unto the Jewish Meshiach/Messiah that they wait for (They Denied Jesus Christ) this will start the 7 week period in preparing to build.

62 literal weeks will be in building, and Meshiach/Messiah will be cut off by the armies surrounding Jerusalem, this stops the building.

The 70th literal week will see (The Antichrist) revealed in making a covenant, and in the middle of this literal week he proclaims to be Meshiach/Messiah God to the Jews, and Jesus returned to the apostate church, to start a Millennium on earth.

The 3.5 year tribulation starts at this time.

Daniel 9:24-27KJV
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

See post 13 re. everlasting righteousness.

Dear covenantee,
The only "early church fathers" who have any credibility are the New Testament writers.

Paul said that after His departing, "wolves" would come into the church and spare none of the flock. John also re-enforced this truth by saying that the spirit of anti-Christ was coming and in fact, had already come.

Shortly after the Apostles died, all the churches they started became utterly corrupt and harlot after the spirit of anti-Christ had fully come. This is the "apostasy" Paul mentioned in 2Thes 2:3. Since that time, nothing has changed in the church except that they have "waxed worse and worse" (2Tim 3:13).

If you believe that Orthodox Christianity is faithful and walking by the truth, then when did the wolves and spirit of anti-Christ leave the church?

As for Dan 9:24 being fully accomplished at the cross, take a look at the first goal of the verse. The first goal says that Christ will "finish the transgression". Look around the world and you'll see that mankind is still in a state of transgression against God. However, after the last person is saved and has become a child of God, the transgression will end. However, that final day is still in the future and will only occur at the end of the final age (typed by the Feast of Tabernacles).

There is one other point I forgot the make earlier concerning the promises made to Abraham and his descendants. The reason the Nation of Israel did not take full possession of the Promised Land was because they were under the Old Covenant. The Old Covenant cannot save a person because no man can perfectly follow the Law except Christ. And because the Nation of Israel fell short of following the Law, they could not fully possess the land. Because of this failure, Christ came to bring in a New Covenant which did not require any works from mankind. The New Covenant is spiritual and since it is 100% the works of Christ, Christ will make sure that all of the descendants of Abraham will dwell in the promised land. However, the fulfillment of the promises are not physically fulfilled under the New Covenant. They are spiritually fulfilled by faith. For that reason, Paul said:

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

So now, under the New Covenant, only the spiritual descendants of Abraham will possess the Land. And since Christ will fulfill the goals of Dan 9:24, this will also include all the physical descendants of Abraham because they, too, will become his spiritual descendants.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Once these verses above are fulfilled, so will Dan 9:24 be fulfilled.

That is incorrect. The full penalty for the sins of the whole world was paid at Calvary. Everlasting righteousness will be established on earth only AFTER the Second Coming of Christ. Presently we are heading towards the evil reign of the Antichrist. the New World Order is simply a prelude. Worldwide tyranny will be established as per Revelation 13.

Well then who will set up the Abomination of Desolation? The Antichrist is shown as the Little Horn in Daniel, as well as "the prince that shall come", as well as several other descriptions of this person. So you really do not even know what is in the book of Daniel.

Confession with a believing heart = salvation

Scripture doesn't support your (1913) "Oneness Pentecostal Theology" that denies the Triune Godhead

Romans 10:9-10KJV
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1 John 5:7-8KJV
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Wikipedia: Oneness Pentecostalism
In April 1913, at the Apostolic Faith Worldwide Camp Meeting held in Arroyo Seco, California and conducted by Maria Woodworth-Etter, organizers promised that God would "deal with them, giving them a unity and power that we have not yet known."[49][50] Canadian R. E. McAlister preached a message about water baptism just prior to a baptismal service that was about to be conducted. His message defended the "single immersion" method and preached "that apostolic baptism was administered as a single immersion in a single name, Jesus Christ," saying: "The words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost were never used in Christian baptism.

The Man of Sin is a believer who has the spirit of anti-Christ indwelling them. This is what caused the apostasy Paul mentioned in 2Thes 2:3. When Christ comes to a fallen believer (Man of Sin) and gives them the Latter Rain, their spiritual blindness will be healed. With these "eyes that can see", they will "see" the Abomination of Desolation within themselves. This is also when the Man of Sin is revealed to them and they will find that he is the one who is looking back at them in the mirror.

All end-time prophecy is a spiritual description of the Pathway to Salvation which the Elect will travel during their lifetimes. The end-time prophecies are not one-time outward world events which will happen in the future. Christ is "spirit" and so are His works.

Until a person can rightly divide the Word by the Old and New Covenant, scripture will remain veiled.

Joe
