In John 14:6 Jesus is quoted as saying this :" I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me".
It occurred to me a couple of days ago that the order which Jesus uses here, tells us something and explains why the early believers called their belief The Way ( Christian was a term later used by the Romans ).
So first Jesus says :" I am the Way.".......The way to what?.........To the next thing He says !
Then He says :" I am the Truth." which hopefully none on the forum will argue against.
Finally He says :" I am the Life."
So from that I just thought, how clever.......
He is the Way into the Truth, which then brings the Life.
The first pastor I sat under made a point to us about Christ NOT being Jesus' surname, as he said a lot of people seemed to use it that way lol.
