What does the below verse mean to you

Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Sa'-tan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

I ask because,in the world Christians should not be deceived, however they are the only ones that can be,as the rest of the world already are.

Guess this is just a statement more so than a thread, however, please think about it,especially those who believe in a rapture

When was the dragon cast out? He deceived (past tense) the whole world before he was cast out or shortly after. So when was he cast out?

The KJV says he deceiveth the whole world and that is a bit different. One is past tense and the other is possibly continual.

Jesus said he was not of this world (john 8:23) and his kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36). He, like us was in the world (John 1:10).

So I have 3 answers to give you based on your stance.

1. Satan was cast out before Christ came. Thus Christ changed that.
2. Satan continues to deceive the world , but if Christ is in us and we are un him, and if we are in his kingdom... We aren't part of the world.
3. I forget the third.

Satan is strong... Without Gods intervention the elect would be deceived but our God isn't going to let that happen.

I ask because,in the world Christians should not be deceived, however they are the only ones that can be,as the rest of the world already are.
Of this, they are willfully ignorant of…. 2 Peter 3:5.
This is in regard to the forthcoming worldwide judgement by fire, but it applies to all people who want to be free of any hindrance to their own will, to do the things they want to do regardless of what is found in the Word of God. This willingness to be ignorant of the things of God is a willful choice based on a selfish desire rather than a desire to please God.

It is not that they cannot grasp the truth; or that they cannot understand it. The fact is that they do not want the truth because the truth of God's word would mean changing their cozy lifestyle. This also applies to those who have chosen to believe false teachings, in order to avoid the testing times to come.
Look at Acts 7:51-60….Then they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears. Why? They did not want to know the truth about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

This is true in our day as well. There are multitudes of people who do not want to know the things of God because they do not want to be beholden to God. They are willfully ignorant. Paul said something similar to that in 1 Corinthians 14:38.
But if any man be ignorant, let him remain ignorant. Isaiah 29:9-12

Until a person is willing to receive the truth with an open mind and thereby become mentally renewed , he or she will remain in the dark about salvation and for Christians about the great future God has planned for us.

satan at this present time is in Heaven,he comes to earth around the 5th and 6th trump.
How does he(satan)deceive the world, and I do know he's doing that now ,however the below is what I'm talking about

Revelation 13:13 "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men."

Revelation 13:14 "And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."

The below is when he comes to earth live and in person, along with his angels

Revelation 12:7 "And there was war in heaven: Mi'-cha-el and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,,"

Revelation 12:8 "And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven."

Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Sa'-tan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

This has yet to happen

Good reply, true, men don't want to hear the truth. if we may, confirm the 1 Corinthians 14:38 and Isaiah 29:9-12 quote you made, Revelation 22:11 "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still". Amen.

The world is already deceived...but so is the church....for the most part. We lack knowledge of ourselves and our situation. We have let faith degenerate into religious belief and revelation into religion.

Judgment begins with us. WE are the first ones responsible for the way the world is going. Hiding in steeple houses and condemning others is not the same as taking responsibility and living in a sacrificial way to help the situation.

God is still looking for labourers....but these are fewer and fewer. Most people are so self-absorbed as to be part of the problem, really. We have mis-understood everything.

Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Sa'-tan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
That translation is incorrect and misleading. Here is the proper translation and I will use the KJV 2000 Bible for clarity.

King James 2000 Bible
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

So it is in the present tense since the devil has been and continues to deceive the whole world. However, those who are saved become children of light, and are enlightened by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Therefore they are not a part of the unsaved world. But since Satan can also present himself as an angel of light, Christians can be (and are) deceived, unless they have on the whole armor of God.

The Revelation 12:7-17 verses are actually about the time of great tribulation for the end of this world, not when Satan first fell from Heaven back when he first rebelled against God in coveting His throne.

Rev 12:7-8
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

KJV

That event is still future to us. It was not the time of Satan's original rebellion in coveting God's Throne in the time of old. The Rev.12:7-17 verses are about the time of the end of this world.

That phrase above in red means Satan and his angels are to be cast out... of the Heavenly dimension, and into our earthly dimension. There's only 2 dimensions of existence written of in God's Holy Writ, this earthly one we live in, and the heavenly one where God's Abode and the angels are, and also where the abode of the wicked dead called hell are. That phrase in red shows Satan and his are cast into OUR earthly dimension, and the next verses shows the working he will do, which reveals the timing of this.

Rev 12:10-11
0 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
KJV

That Salvation could not come until our Lord Jesus had come to die on the cross and was raised by The Father. This shows this casting out time is for after... Christ's 1st coming and resurrection.

Those that overcome the devil by their Testimony, is about the brethren of the 5th Seal that the souls under altar in Heaven are told they must wait for that will be killed as they were for their Testimony. That's about the end during the time of "great tribulation" our Lord Jesus warned us about (Mark 13; Matthew 24).

Rev 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
KJV

The rest is about the endtime persecution of God's Church on earth by that old serpent, the devil.

The major revealing of those Scriptures is that Satan is coming to earth in OUR dimension, in person; not by possessing another person, but as himself, disguised as an angel of light like Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor.11. We shall see Satan as he actually appears, with the image of man which God created him with. And that image of man has nothing to do with horns, a goatee, red flannel underwear, and a pitchfork.

Thank you Davy, most don't understand that.....They looking for evil, which satan is don't get me wrong, however he will appear as an angel of light, thus starting the deception

II Corinthians 11:13 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ."

"Apostles" means "Ones sent forth", and God did not send false apostles to do any of his work for they are not of God, but of their father the devil. Though many of them claim that God talks to them, the spirits that they are in tune with, is not the Holy Spirit, but the spirits of devils or what we refer to a demons. They tell you that God told me to tell you this or that, and then they give you something that goes against what the Word of God teaches.

These deceitful workers or teachers claim to be of Christ, when in actuality they teach something that goes against what Christ taught. When you teach Christ's Word, it is to be taught chapter by chapter and verse by verse with understanding. Is that the way your pastor teaches? Do you check out what your pastor teaches with the Word of God, or do you really care what the Word states? Today many Christians are more satisfied with having their ears and minds entertained than knowing what God is telling them. When ministries keep coming around to the money part of their ministry, it should become clear that money must be the focus of their ministry. Your main concern should be keeping your mind focused on God's Word, and being protected from the deception that Satan and his angels are going to give.

II Corinthians 11:14 "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Paul is saying that we should not let these false preachers be a marvel to us, "for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light". How can Satan be "transformed into an angel of light", when the Word of God says many times over and over that if you are of Satan, you are a child of the darkness? Something is terrible wrong here. Many people say that we are not to worry because Satan himself is going to be transformed into an angel of light, and they show their complete ignorance of God's Word. Lets read for ourselves what the Strong's Greek dictionary has to say about this word "transformed". The number in the Strong's Greek dictionary is # 3345.

"Metaschematizo, met-ask-ay-met-id-zo; from the Greek #3326, and a derivative of #4976; to transfigure or disguise; fig. to apply (by accommodation): -transfer, or transform (self)." So lets put this in the way that Paul actually said it in the manuscripts of his letter to the Corinthians. "Satan himself is coming disguised into an angel of light." That is how he will appear to those that are going to see him at his coming at the sixth trumpet. They will see him as they expect to see Jesus coming at the seventh trumpet, but they will be deceived by him, because he will appear to be what they expect to see Jesus to be. To "disguise" anything is to change and hide what it truly is, and make it appear to be that it is not.

Satan is coming disguised as an "angel of light", and the true "Angel of Light" is Jesus Christ. He is coming disguised as the Savior, and that is what this warning of Paul's is all about. Paul doesn't want you seduced by Satan spiritually, like many of the virgins of Christ will be. This is from the very parable that Christ put forth. Are you starting to understand a little more of our Heavenly Father's Word?

II Corinthians 11:15 "Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Paul is telling us that these ministers of deceit have disguised themselves also as the ministers of righteousness, when in fact they are setting you up to be taken by Satan, and not Jesus Christ. They present themselves as the apostles of Christ, only they never get around to teaching the entire Word of God. But they teach in the context that would prepare you for the first christ that comes, who is Satan. Paul is saying don't marvel at these false preachers that are deceiving you, because Satan himself will be cast out of heaven by Michael, and then he will be coming disguised as Jesus.

As is pointed out in Mark 13:5, 6, this Antichrist, which in the Greek reads "instead of Christ" is coming. And when they tell you that he is here or there don't you believe them.

Mark 13:5 "And Jesus answering them began to say, "Take heed lest any man deceive you:"

Mark 13:6 "For many shall come in My name, saying, 'I am Christ;' and shall deceive many. "

Paul has told us in I Corinthians 15:50-54 what we should never believe anyone that claims to be Christ while we are in our flesh body. The reason for that again is that we will not see Jesus Christ coming while we are in our flesh bodies, however we will see the false Christ, the "instead of Christ" who is Satan. Satan is coming with all his lies and supernatural powers and wonders. If you are expecting a supernatural show of the messiah, then Satan will give you everything you hoped for. When the true Christ returns at the second advent, all flesh, good and bad alike will be turned from their flesh bodies to their spiritual body, faster than you can wink your eye.

This sheds light on the use of the term "world". Whole world does not = every person. But Jews and gentiles alike. As in the case of limited atonement.

Can you expand here? What is "that" if you would? Ty
Not sure I can... I was in a train of thought then and don't remember.

I am not of the belief that Satan's being cast out in Rev 12 is a future event, nor that he is in heaven or will return. I've read the Pov of those who disagree and acknowledge that, but I disagree

Satan was cast out and set out to deceive the whole world. Yet, through Christ is come salvation, strength, the kingdom of our God, etc... Christ made a way out of that deception.

In my first post of this thread I mentioned a third thing I said I forgot... I've been under the weather... But it is the scripture in Mat 24:24 thats says [paraphrasing] that many false Christs and prophets shall come with great miracles. These will be so powerful that if it were possible, the very elect will be deceived.

"If it were possible"... But through Christ it is not. Christians will NOT be deceived. The adversary will try and it'll be a great test. But the wording suggests that they won't.

While I do believe there will be wars on earth over religion, and there will come Armagheddon, we are in a spiritual warfare now. And its very subtile... So much so that you may not even recognize the conflict. Its a war over holding fast to sound doctrine and keeping the faith without wavering.
