2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. - Romans 7:1-5.
The more you know about the law the more sin conscience you will be. The old mind is a term coined by man, nowhere in scripture do you find old mind written you can find Old Man. Scripture calls for the mind to be renewed not the old man, because it is the same mind now as before your spiritual birth. The only thing wrong with the mind is it has the knowledge of Good and Evil you cannot live by that knowledge, it is a separation from. Look at Adam and ; in their innocence they did not know any better, they were innocent and it was the woman that was deceived not Adam. That is another story for another time. It is the same unique you created in the image and likeness of God. The same mind before your spiritual birth, and it retains what scripture calls the knowledge of Good and Evil.
You must have the understanding of the renewing of the mind process. The Mind must be renewed because of the knowledge of Good and Evil and the renewing of the Mind is a process. The sin nature and Satan abuse of the creation of God; was done by the sin nature inturn affecting the mind which has the knowledge of Good and Evil by the nature. We should see and know and understand we need a new nature. What you get in Christ is a new nature. Serving God with the new in Christ nature with the unrenewed mind is what Romans 7 is all about. A unrenewed mind with the new in Christ nature cannot be any more incompatible then the; woman and the man in Romans 7. She wanted out of that marriage from the man but there was no divorce separation under the law.
The new nature with the renewed mind, which is called in scripture; the mind of Christ, gives the believer knowledge and understanding what it is their father has done in Christ by a death before the foundation of the world. There is no regeneration for the mind, the mind must be renewed. The mind cannot be regenerated, that happened to the believer at the time of the new birth when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for their personal salvation, and happened by the Life Death Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ the lord and savior of all that will believe.
You cannot get any more personal when two people become one, in spirit only by a birth. What does Scripture say about love; no greater love then a man would lay his life down for his friends. Jesus is that man and believers are those friends. It is by the love of God all of creation exists. In him we live and in him we move and in him we have our being. It is based on love; God is love.
