Why was Jesus born poor?
Why did he say that it was “easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God”?
Why did he say “you cannot slave for God and riches”.....
They are opposite paths in this world, where you have to pay for everything.....and the greedy exploit the poor.
It’s not about enjoying an abundance because in the new world to come we will have abundance beyond our wildest imaginings...but it will all be free. Like the garden of Eden, paradise conditions will mean that no one will have to slave for anyone else to earn enough to be truly “rich”......all will be “rich in fine works” and will share what they have with others. No one will be poor in any way.
Imagine no poverty....no sickness or death....no crime or violence.....no more wars.
We only need to have modest means in this greedy world....but then we will have God’s blessing, the way it was meant to be in the beginning....(Rev 21:2-4)
