We know, as it is written, that what has been will be again. Shadows, types, examples are given to show what will happen in the end of days. So as we study the Bible we can rightly place the historic events as a foretelling of our present or future events. Some may be literal and some may be figurative...happening spiritually.

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure:

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

I noticed one of the following verses and wondered, what or who is "the hornet" God sends before His army. What or who "pierces" the enemy to drive them out, to destroy them but...not with a sword or bow?

Exodus 23:28 And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

Deuteronomy 7:20 Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.

Joshua 24:12 And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
