Hi, i have a tic disorder simular to Tourettes in that I have bothe vocal and motor tics, but it started in adult hood after taking an antibiotic about four years ago. I have been through many tics, ones where I couldn't move or walk, couldn't talk right, jerked me around every which way, closed my eyes, and caused me pain from the repetative movements, let alone the screaming and shouting. I have been on three different meds for them and I am on two right now. I stopped taking them for about four weeks because i was doing better, well what a mistake that was. Soon I was freezing up and couldn't move again. Then a new tic arrived, coprolalia. I am swearing like a sailor. Oh, sure I have said a swear word before, I am still known to say one now and then, unfortunatly, but i am trying to retrain my mouth. But this is beyond that. Every other word there is two or three swear words or more thrown in. My husband can't understand me, becuase there is so much interference. I couldn't go to work, can't even think about going to church, let alone our church health meeting on sunday. And i was supposed to help make a bunch of food for the church on friday. i couldn't talk to anyone on the phone to say I couldn't come, my husband had to take the phone form me. It is slowing down a bit so maybe the medicine is working. People in my church are praying for me, but I could use more prayers please, for a healing form this neurological condition. There is no guarentee the meds will work, which means i could not continue my work. I work for the Lutheran Church, in group homes and have a lot of contact with the clients and the local CMH. Can't do that when you are swearing. thank you
