Matthew 24:6 But you are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See, do not be terrified. For all things must take place, but the end is not yet.

I am reading a book written by a Christian who fought in Kosovo with the American forces. My brain got into gear and started thinking about war in general.

When you think about it just about every country on earth is as war. Some are at war with another country. Some are religious wars, mainly fuelled by Islam. Some are in a civil war with themselves countering crime amongst their own people.

It seems the more you push God out of the picture the more war there is. That is understandable because when you try and get God out of the picture you create a vacuum and someone has to come along and fill it as it is a known fact that we all have a God gene because we are created in His image despite the sin that has taken over society, it hasn't been dispelled or got rid of.

Mind you the atheists are pulling out all the stops to remove God from every day living in the hope that their religion of nothing takes over and they can rule the world. Joseph Stalin tried that and look where that got him.

The bible is very clear where we stand. In Ephesians 6:12 it says "because wrestling against flesh and blood is not to us, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies."

This makes it quite clear that there are two realms. The earthy realm and the heavenly realm. This verse shows us that out there are spiritual powers of evil and world rulers in the darkness. Satan hates the light because it shows him up for who and what he is so he operates in the darkness.

You will find that in nightclubs, homosexual clubs, sex clubs and the like the dominant feature is the darkness. Sometimes it is difficult to see who is standing next to you.

Much of the crime that is done is at night and behind closed doors. In other words, under cover of darkness. Whereas we are told to walk in the light as he is in the light. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

War is prophesied as part of the end times and we are told not to be terrified because they have to take place but even though we have so many wars, the end is not yet, so it is a case of watch this space.

A metaphor used in the New Testament that speaks of war and rumours of war is σεισμὸς, seismos, which should be understood to have the meaning of turmoil, but is wrongly translated as "earthquakes" in our English translations, but is found in the context of "turmoil," which is describing a period of world turmoil and wars which have occurred when other prophetic events have also occurred. Revelation 16:17-21 is one such example which is linked with the restoration / restoring of the Land of the Chaldeans, i.e. Babylon, by treaty in 1926 and the division of Jerusalem into three parts in 1948.

This particular bowl prophecy has happened is confirmed by the recorded historical facts of when the two above events occurred which is found in this prophecy passage.

Sadly we love our "trusted" translations more than the actual context of the source texts from which the translations were derived.

Addressing the OP, GOOD TOPIC, and much to learn. YES, WAR is not only country aganist country, Nation aganist Nation, but neighbor aganist neighbor. but the BIG war is within us, James 4:1 "From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
James 4:2 "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
James 4:3 "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts".

if we can't control the "BIG" war that's within us how are we ever going to abolish world wars.

we first must get the log out of our eyse first before we can tell or brother about the mote in his eye.

as said, when we remove God out of the equation the devils fills that void.

and that void is the bottomless pit of our minds. the devil workshop when idle.

what you can expect from the kingdom of death, is death. death is the ultimate power in the world in the hands of man:

Wis 1:13 For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living.
Wis 1:14 For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful; and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth:
Wis 1:15 (For righteousness is immortal) :
Wis 1:16 But ungodly men with their works and words called it to them: for when they thought to have it their friend, they consumed to nought, and made a covenant with it, because they are worthy to take part with it.

the Hope is not in the world, the Hope is in the Kingdom come.

That's pretty much the opposite of what the Bible says.

It's Apocryphal.
no, its part of the bible of which the protestants had removed from the bibles they read, and call it Apocryphal. protestants read the scriptures assembled by the catholic church but they don't like certain text and had it removed. even some verses in Danial were removed. there are edits that are edited out, that are in Jewish and catholic versions in the books of Moses. so its obvious that the protestants have their own ideas on what should be read and believed. I stand by the KJV for those who read English but one should have one that includes all the text which is available now.

Protestants didn't remove anything. They simply follow the books of the Bible which are identical to those proclaimed by Athanasius, books that were well known from the very beginning:

When you think about it just about every country on earth is as war.
Wars on earth began when Lucifer declared war on God in Heaven, and shortly thereafter caused Adam and Eve to disobey God. Their rebellion was warfare against God also.
And all we need to do is go back to the murder of Abel by Cain to see that jealousy and envy are at the heart of all warfare.

However, because of Satan's war against God and Christ, today we have ongoing spiritual warfare against Christians (Ephesians 6 and other passages). We are in a daily battle with evil spirits and Satan, but God has provided us with the weapons and armor for our spiritual warfare.

At the same time, it is also Satan who is behind the wars in all countries. And the major wars -- WWI and WWII and others-- were manipulated by him through both weak and evil men. Not a single war has accomplished anything, except the major loss of lives, land, and wealth.

What should be clear to everyone by now is that ignorant and arrogant Western politicians have failed to protect their countries from the wars that were declared on the West by Communism, China, and Islam (which is in fact Radical Islam). The declarations of war were loud and clear, and the appropriate response should have been forthcoming. Instead the enemies were invited to invade the West in hordes through both legal and illegal immigration. And a huge segment of the American population has turned Communist.

China has been waging economic and cyber warfare against America for decades, and now they are waging bio-warfare with the help of American cash and American traitors. That is the irony that seems to have escaped the politicians.

There will be even more warfare on earth and in the heavens in the future. Michael and his angels will war with Satan and his evil angels in the atmospheric heavens, and they will all be cast down to earth along with Satan, before the reign of the Antichrist. But the battle of Armageddon will see the destruction of the Antichrist and all the enemies of God, Christ, and Israel. Christ Himself will destroy them "with the breath of His mouth and the brightness of His coming".

After that, there will be the Millennium, but following that the battle of Gog and Magog will be engineered by Satan. Once again Christ will destroy all His enemies, and that will be the end of all warfare on earth. The Great White Throne Judgment will follow the casting down of Satan into the Lake of Fire, and all evildoers will also be cast into the Lake of fire and remain there in outer darkness for eternity. Then the New Heavens and the New Earth will come into existence, and finally there will be eternal peace and righteousness on earth under the Lord Jesus Christ.

Obviously you do not know much about the history of the Apocrypha. All those books were non-canonical and not divinely inspired. Therefore they were kept out of the Hebrew Tanakh by the Palestinian Jews. The Tanakh had just 24 books -- Torah (5 books), Neviim (8 books) and Ketuvim (11 books). And Christ Himself made this the authoritative Hebrew canon.

However the Jews in Alexandria had the Hebrew Bible translated into a corrupt Greek translation -- the Septuagint -- which included all the apocryphal books (even its origin is legendary). And that is how the apocrypha entered into the Catholic Bibles IN SPITE OF THE OBJECTIONS OF JEROME (who translated the Scriptures into the Latin Vulgate). The King James translators included the Apocrypha between the two testaments in 1611, but also made it clear that this was not Scripture. Later on the Apocrypha was removed from Protestant bibles.

Some of those books are worth reading, but none of them may be regarded as Scripture.

you didn't read the posting did you

also is there anything the catholic church that o yea Athanasius was a Archbishop in that the catholic church excluded? your buddy Athanasius was a prominent member in the catholic church in his day including a well known attender of The Council of Nicaea (325) of which the famous creed was written. so what acts Athanasius had done documentation and otherwise was a act of the catholic church since the church approved and or adopted his findings on any matter he being a servant of the church. Athanasius was a catholic (universal church)

so you're wrong as in incorrect, it was the catholic church that assembled and establish what is understood as the bible in Christian context OT/NT. the Hebrews already had there own copies. the protestants didn't do anything but translate using Hebrew and Greek text and also Latin text in the case of KJV. and if you want to go the Lutheran rout, Luther also edited many of the text that was in the catholic version.

also all the text you read that is trusted scripture in the Christian context was originally collected, grieved over for validity, and assembled by the catholic church.
