I get asked this question quite a bit, the more serious brethren wanting to know just where are we today in Christ's countdown to the end of this world.

Approaching the 5th Seal and 5th Trumpet is what I tell them, and then try to explain the Signs our Lord Jesus gave us for those points in the timeline of the end.

On the 5th Seal in Revelation 6:9-11, we are shown souls in Heaven under God's altar that were slain for the Word of God, asking "How long, O Lord,...," until God avenges His saints. They are told to wait yet "a little season", put for the tribulation at the end, until their brethren also should be killed as they were is fulfilled.

That Sign for the end our Lord Jesus covered in Mark 13:9-13, warning that some brethren will be delivered up to councils and in the synagogues, beaten, and brought before rulers and kings for Christ's sake, for a Testimony against them. Our Lord Jesus gave that Sign just prior to the "abomination of desolation" being setup in Jerusalem involving the coming Antichrist. Jesus said the whole world will hate us in that time, and to not premeditate what those delivered up will say in that 'hour', but whatever is spoken won't be us, but will be The Holy Spirit speaking. He said those who endure unto the end will be saved.

In Revelation 9:1-13, on the 5th Trumpet - 1st Woe period, God's locust army is loosed upon the earth, which involves the locusts operation He foretold His people to be watching for as written in the Book of Joel. These are symbolic locusts, not real locusts in nature. God simply uses the 'idea' of how locusts attack and devour crops as symbolic for a certain people come upon His people to steal and deceive (see Joel 1 & 2). The locusts in Rev.9 are told they cannot hurt any green thing, nor kill the deceived not sealed with God's seal, but only sting them for a period of five months. Real locusts would devour any green thing it came into contact with, so we know God is only using locusts as a symbol in that. That five months represents the actual shortened time of the coming tribulation. It will begin with the 6th Trumpet - 2nd Woe period.

This is where I see we are at today, approaching the 5th Seal and 5th Trumpet. The world control and chaos of the 4th Seal Sign has already long since been in place over the earth, bringing society to this point of chaos and rebellion today. Christ's enemies have been steadily infiltrating the western Christian nations with the plan for overthrow. They have crept into the seats of many western governments, making legislation that only supports the nation's overthrow, and allow the infiltration of illegals that are part of revolutionary fringe groups, and most of all, allow Communist strategy of quelling religious freedom and freedoms of speech, even to the point of pushing for the burning of Christian Churches. It no longer is just the revolutionaries who hold peaceful like rallies preaching overthrow of the U.S., it is now armed revolutionaries holding un-peaceful rallies preaching overthrow of anything and everything involving the United States, it's people, its culture, Christianity, and even the Jews. And those in city and state governments just sit idle, allowing it to happen, which is a major sign.

When leaders in government allow these things to go on, it is a sign we are closer to what our Lord Jesus said for the 5th Sign, the events of the 5th Seal and 5th Trumpet. At some point, western leadership will be taken over to the point when they will seek to jail and deliver up Christian brethren just for preaching God's Word. This I see even more so with street preachers, as some of them already are being arrested for preaching on a street corner, even though the written law says they can do it. Many in our leadership are no longer concerned with following all the written law, not God's laws, nor even the Constitution of The United States of America which they took as an oath of office to defend.

Prepare yourselves brethren. Keep the Faith, be strong, even if you are delivered up to Christ's enemies. Seek peace, not war nor revolution. Defend yourself, your family, your community, and most of all defend The Faith in Jesus Christ.

    "some brethren" ?

In the last 50 years, over a million brethren have been killed, for their faith and maybe other reasons as well.

(yes, even in the United States it happens, and in Britain, and in Europe, as well as China, Africa and Russia.)

And Davy, I would tell them that your understanding of the End times is flawed, because we have not yet reached the point in time where the "locust" have been gathered together to be imprisoned in the Bottomless pit yet. That is still a near future event. The fifth trumpet is heralding the release from the bottomless pit of the "locusts," in the distant future, and their "king" who rules over them is the wicked fallen heavenly angel, who John has called Abaddon in the Hebrew and Apollyon in the Greek, both the Hebrew and the Greek words have the meaning of the destroyer and the Strong definition of both words, suggests that the destroyer, is Satan. The "locust" are released before the four faceted beast and the little horn beasts are released also from the bottomless pit in Revelation 13. Revelation 20 also suggests that Satan is released after 1,000 years of imprisonment in the Bottomless pit has passed.

As regards the fifth seal, yes, we may be approaching that point in time, when the saints who are beneath the Altar of the Lord and who had been slain, want their blood to be avenged, but they are told when they ask to await the time when the complete number of the Saints have been slain like them, which will occur after they have rested for a little while longer. This time of completion will occur in our distant future from now. The slain Saints want God's plans to come to an abrupt halt before the decreed time in God's Prophetic word on the end time has run its full course.

    Shalom

Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Revelation 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Acts 22:19-20 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee: [20] And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
‘until their brethren also should be killed as they were is fulfilled.’

Luke 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

    Curious Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

How then does it become tribulation and anguish on...the Jew last?

The flaw is with your interpretation, because the loosing of the actual locust army for "five months" is about the great tribulation timing, just prior to the "day of the Lord"; yes, the Book of Joel plays into this timing of the locusts also, which you apparently have not considered. But because the locusts are mentioned being released out of the pit on the 5th Trumpet, it shows their working actually begins earlier than the tribulation.

How does your question about the Jew relate to what I covered about the end? is that your question? Answer: it only has relation with what Jesus said. Try Zechariah 12:7-14.

Thus Apostle Paul's meaning is that what one does, good or evil, the resulting reward is upon the Jew first, but also upon the Gentile. It simply means that for those God has called, they are judged first, as they have greater responsibility to God for the duty He has given them.

So Davy if you are saying the same as I am stating, then you are also saying that this flaw is also with your interpretation.

So Davy, if I am understanding your OP, you said that the Locust will be seen in our near future, but they are not yet in the locked Bottomless pit from which they will be released as we are told will happen in Rev 9.

I on the other hand had stated in my post above that the Locust will be released from the Bottomless Pit in our distant future, a little over 1,000 years into our future.

Neither of us will be alive to see if this event unfold. The question that will be answer in our near future, is whether you are right with your understanding of a present/near future unfolding of the release of the locusts.

I know that what you post was flawed. Time will confirm whether I was right in saying that you understanding is flawed.

    Shalom

    That statement is SO... FUNNY!

That idea is even further out, because God's Word does NOT say those locusts are gathered and locked back in the pit. God's Word only speaks of their loosing at the end of this world, prior to the "day of the Lord". The "day of the Lord" timing is BEFORE the 1,000 years of Revelation 20. Men's doctrines have you all confused.

I guess you give me no choice but to cover from the Book of Joel here about those Rev.9 locusts...

    Joel 1
1:1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

Has this happened yet in your day, God is asking. Tell your children about it, and their children. In other words, pass this on to your children from generation to generation until you see it. That is pointing out that this was not for Joel's time, but for the end of this world.

4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.

That is about 4 types of locusts, each stage of devouring representing the picking up with where the previous locust left off. It reveals a completeness of devouring.

5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.

Those locusts represent "a nation", and those lion teeth symbols are one that Rev.9 uses about the locusts there.

7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19 O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
    KJV

That is all symbolic. It's is about the locust army which God sends for the end of this world. It is about the world controllers who begin to take over the earth in four stages.

    Joel 2
    2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

That again sets the timing for the locust's working to be in the last days prior to the "day of the Lord", which is on the very last day of this present world when Jesus returns.

3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

Those are more symbols used in Rev.9 about the locusts, like horsemen prepared unto battle.

6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

If these were a real literal military army, wouldn't they die if they fell upon a sword? Yes, of course. By this God is showing He is not speaking of a literal military army, but using the idea of a military army as to how... these locusts attack and operate. Because they won't die if they fall upon that symbolic sword, it simply means they cannot be stopped, that God has ordained these to work at the end of this world.

9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

What comes into your home like a thief? If you don't understand a lot of the propaganda that is presented by today's media, through radio, TV, magazines and books, and internet, then you won't understand how this locust army works for the end.

10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the LORD shall utter His voice before His army: for His camp is very great: for He is strong That executeth His word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

That is definitely speaking of the very end of this world with Christ's 2nd coming.

12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, 'Spare Thy people, O LORD, and give not Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, 'Where is their God?'

That is what we are to be doing right now, today. Our trust today is to be with our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, not in this world and those men operating over it devouring like locusts.

18 Then will the LORD be jealous for His land, and pity His people.
19 Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto His people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.

26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, That hath dealt wondrously with you: and My people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and My people shall never be ashamed.

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

    KJV

That latter part is what Apostle Peter quoted on Pentecost in Acts 2.

This locust army God is sending upon the world for the end, and He even calls it His army in Joel 2:25. But in final He is going to restore to His faithful servants what the locust devoured. Why would He do this, what does this mean?

It means those of His servants are to be PATIENT, waiting for His return at the end of all this on the "day of the Lord" which will come "as a thief in the night" (1 Thessalonians 5; 2 Peter 3:10). The working of the locusts beginning with the 5th Trumpet - 1st Woe represents what these locusts do in the last days over the earth. The loosing of the four angels bound at the river Euphrates, a symbolic border between God's people and Satan's host, is the actual timing of the 6th Trumpet - 2nd Woe with the "great tribulation", and represents a time when the locust army (Satan's host) will have come to the full on earth:

    Rev 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
    KJV

Well Davy, you have again confirmed your lack of knowledge of what the original Hebrew Book of Joel states in reality.

The English translations has hidden what is contained in the Book of Joel.

God's word does tell us that in our near future, the locust army will be gathered together and judged and will be imprisoned in a pit along with the judged heavenly hosts for many years to await their time of punishment. Isaiah 24:21-22. However the linkage that defines the relationships and dependencies of God's prophecies can sometime be hard to piece together so that a coherent picture can be seen in our minds eye and understood.

Yes I agree that we all see darkly the truth of the matter. Let me give you an example from the Book of Joel 2:2 which speaks of a time period of two ages that Israel will be desolate and devastated before Israel will be restored once more as we continue to read.

You claim that the locusts are not gathered and locked back up in the pit but that they are loosen from the pit at the time of the end of the world.

Well, Jesus spoke of the time of their judgement and their punishment, and the events that lead up to when this occurs in our near future. He also tells us that as a result of this event when He is judging the nations that have come up against Israel in our near future, that Israel will seek His terms of peace for them with Him. Luke 14:25ff. At the same time as this judgement of the Locust army that is occurring at the end of the 2,300 years of the heathens trampling God Sanctuary and His earthly Hosts, the Heavenly hosts will also be judged and kicked out of heaven because no place can be found for them in heaven and they too will join the Locust Army and be imprisoned in a pit for many days.

Davy, you cannot treat God's Prophetic words in segmented isolation, but you must piece them together into a coherent picture of what will happen and when it will happen.

But do not be discouraged, we all should search God's prophetic word, even those who mock us unmercifully with their fallible understandings, and allow God's truth to flow out of what we read, over and over again.

The question I have for you, is, are you qualified enough to be able to say that you have all of the understanding to be dogmatic in what you claim with respect to the End Times. From what I read of your understanding, the conclusion that I reach is, No.

    Shalom

The Day of the Lord is the 1000 year Millennium. The events in Revelation all happen prior to this Day of the Lord.

The events (Seals, Trumpets, Thunders) and Satan's 3.5 years (Vials) are prior to, but all wrapped up in the same, Day of the Lord, prophecy.

The problem is that some want to turn these less than 3 years of events into major time and major kingdoms. Revelation is about God on the throne and the Lamb and final harvest. It is not the set up of earthly political structures. For the battle of Armageddon a ten nation setup, presumably by Satan during the 3.5 years, will rule against Christ one hour during the Battle of Armageddon. The time is now. It will all be over in a little over 6 years. How can any one take events out of order and just claim they happen at random time frames of a thousand years? Claiming Revelation happens in any other 3.5 and Satan's 3.5 time frame to end the current age and usher in the last Millennium is not rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Understanding the mechanics is not wrong, but we have run out of time. No more interpretations involving decades will fit. The end is in clear view.

That's some more of your baloney. The Book of Joel points directly to events to occur just prior to the "day of the Lord":

    Joel 2:29-31
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
    KJV

That was even quoted by Apostle Peter on Pentecost for the last days.

    Joel 3:11-17
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
    KJV

What you are doing is telling a LIE.

Those are just words without meaning, as you have not provided one iota of Scripture evidence that disproves the timing of those Joel events and their connection to the locusts in the Revelation 9 chapter. All you're doing is mouthing, and it makes you look all the more ignorant.

I did provide the evidence in post #10, but you are, I suppose, claiming that it was invalid, and as such I did not provide any scriptural evidence. It seems that you suffer from selective reasoning. So be it.

How does it relate? That born of flesh is flesh and that born of Spirit is Spirit. ‘tribulation and anguish’ upon that born of flesh (every soul)of the Jew first, and also the gentile. Glory, honor, and peace, upon that born of the Spirit. Romans 2:9-11 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; [10] But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: [11] For there is no respect of persons with God.

Significant in He showed it was indeed first to Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: [6] But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

And Acts 13:45-46 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy,(jealousy) and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. [46] Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

    Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
For there is no respect of persons with God.

Sounds like tribulation and anguish on all born of the flesh ...of the Jew first and also of the gentile. The same tribulation and anguish appointed to all for there is no respect of persons with God, so what is born of flesh will have tribulation and anguish. Where and how does a great tribulation period on the Jew fit with there is no respect of person with God?

Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile

There you go again, you only provided your personal opinion, not Scripture proof.

And I thought we were talking about the last days and the end of this world, which apparently you are not. See the OP.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest/most honest of them all?

Davy when you can be honest in your posts, I will be happy to continue this conversation, but until then you can keep on keeping on with your opinions as to the truth of the matter.

Actually you are wrong, the locusts are NOT a future event as it has already come to pass.

    Revelation 9, verse 3.
“and there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth; and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And the shape of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.”

Remember, this is 2000 years ago, but he’s seeing locusts with breastplates of iron, with faces of men, the sound of their wings was the sound of many chariots, or many horses running to battle.

He is seeing helicopters, although he’d never seen a helicopter. He had no clue what they were, but he said, “these are locusts and they got breastplates of iron, but they have faces of men and the sound of their wings is the sound of many chariots going to battle.”

Take a look here at what he may have seen in his vision...

It appears to me that is what John was seeing, and he was talking about warfare in the 20th century.

Verse 11 it continues the prophecy and it says, “and they had a king over them,” these warriors, these armies, “which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the hebrew tongue is abaddon, but in the greek tongue hath his name apollyon.”

Look up in a dictionary it defines both the Hebrew “abaddon” as the destroyer and the Greek “apollyon” means the destroyer, some translations in the bible actually say, “they had a king over them named the destroyer.”

Back in 1991 when all this was taking place, The German Tribune at the time, march 10, 1991 edition had an article about Saddam Hussein and about all that was happening in the gulf at the time, and the reporter called him Saddam “The Destroyer” Hussein.

    God Bless!
