In order for us to receive gods blessing we have to live our lives the way God wants us to. Let's say there is this married couple the man works and the women has no job and is a house wife. The wife lives her life the way God want her to but the husband does not. The husband believes in God but never goes to church and commits sin. If any thing bad happend to the husband like he doesn't get a Job promotion or a Raise at work it would have a negative effect on the wife. In this situation would the husband receive gods blessing even though he doesn't live His life the way God wants him to.

1 Corinthians 7 shows that the unbelieving spouse can be sanctified by the believing one. (Even though it's not advisable to enter a marriage with this in view, if the other spouse is an unbeliever...)

Good to see you on the forums!

There's a lot of possibilities here:
Obviously a couple shouldn't knowingly put themselves in this situation.
If the situation happens after a couple gets married (either she converts or he falls away), that's not a blanket "get divorced now!" situation. Christ's words are to try to make it work. Now if the husband starts doing something like cooking meth in the basement, that's a marriage deal-breaker.

I truly struggle with North American easy divorce. I don't see where God in His Word ever says it's a good idea, ever...

I do agree it's tragic; but do you find examples in Scripture where it's viewed as a lesser tragedy?
I am not sola scriptura. Nor do I believe that it is Christ's will for a wife to stay in a situation where is beaten, her children are threatened, substance is abused, etc (just for a few examples). Both for the wife's sake and also for the children's sake (such is not a healthy person to be around or to be your examplar).

Fleeing in fear, on the one hand, and divorce, on the other, are not the same thing, as 1 Corinthians 7 would seem to indicate.

Why is divorce a good idea, because while you both live and the one who wants the divorce is sleeping with another , that person is in sin, but if that partner divorces the other than it is no longer an issue, in fact the person who was divorced should forgive both, its hard but needed.

Scripturally, why isn't it an issue any longer?

Should I put it this way, do you wish the other person to live in sin?? if you do, than dont forgive them and than God has no reason to forgive you. Love says I will let them go so that I, that may be you, dont cause them to live in sin. Your choice.

What would love do it the question not what scripture says.

OUCH!! You mean that all she does is just get the groceries , clean the house, look after the kids, do the laundry, clean the house, cook the meals..weed the garden.....jump into bed and say she isn't tired because after all , she has no job... Yep. I knew lots of those housewives with no job. :)

Good to see you here... Sorry, I just couldn't let that pass. :D

So if I marry a good Christian then I can sin like viewing porn and still be blessed by God ?

My old mother used to say:-
"Ask a silly question and you will get a silly answer. "

Hypothetical questions like this stir up things but accomplish little. Only in real situation are all of the facts existing and therefore available and God knows them so there is a real single correct answer. The people created in the OP have no depth and no real hope, neither one of them, because they really are not. This is why not many people can write good fiction. It is very difficult to create a character that performs like a real person. Only someone with that gift from God can do it.

Good to stick close to Scripture when figuring out real time scenarios...

What I'm saying, is: it's still sin.

Wasn't too sure of the question myself, either...

What I was saying was that In order for us to be blessed by God we need to live our life the way God wants us to which means we cant commit sin like lusting after women or viewing porn. So if I were to marry a women who practices and worships God i can get way with lusting and porn becuse my wife is a good Christian women? In my hypothetical example if any thing were to happen to the husband financially because he sins then the wife also suffers because all the money the couple has comes from the husband
