In-vitro fertilization (IVF) dehumanizes human reproduction, by taking the act of unitive love out of it and converting it into a purely cellular process. This devalues the understanding of procreative love in marriage, thereby devaluing the meaning of marriage itself. This causes grave hurt to the institution of marriage which is the very foundation of society. Furthermore, unitive love, which is conjugal union in marriage, is inseparable from conception, because, conjugal union’s only physiological purpose is conception; and conjugal union and conception are different stages of reproductive process. Therefore, to have one without the other is to go against the creator of the physiology. Furthermore, during IVF only embryos that are suitable for implantation are used; the others are discarded. Furthermore, in some instances the sperm donor is anonymous. This deprive the resultant human beings the dignity of knowing their origin (biological parents), causing them grave injustice and psychological trauma.

So, married couples who cannot get pregnant should be childless? How do you feel about adopted kids being deprived of knowing their birth parents? During the normal process of fertilization only the embryos that are suitable for the process are used, as well....

i agree with you that there are issues with IVF. I dont have a problem with married couples seeking medical intervention to conceive though. We are unfortunately quite imperfect and this affects our ability to reproduce so I dont see any harm in helping the process along if we need it.

but IVF does have issues when it comes to fertilizing several embryo's at once, then discarding the ones that are not needed. That is a huge moral issue...it is certainly murder if we take the bibles view that life begins at conception. And there is also a conflict with the biblical law that a man should not give his semen to the wife of another...Gods original plan was for one man to have children with his one wife and so that is the perfect position in regard to how God wants it. Im sure there are more issues but these stand out strongly for me.
