We visited poet Robert Frost's house near Franconia, in the Green Mountains. The house's mailbox still has the word 'Frost' written on it! We were in New Hampshire just as the New England fall was looking splendid!

We went to Vermont also; didn't make it to Maine, though.I loved my visit to NH! So beautiful. Same with Vermont and Maine.
Haha. I was only suppose to visit NH, but due to some ...creative navigation...and ended up taking a thorough tour of all three :)We went to Vermont also; didn't make it to Maine, though.
Although Vermont's Green Mountains are high, I think New Hamphire's White Mountains are slightly higher.
Yes, well the boundaries of Vermont, NH and Maine are quite close to the north; VT and NH sort of narrow in their shape.Haha. I was only suppose to visit NH, but due to some ...creative navigation...and ended up taking a thorough tour of all three :)
*Jane flashes back to her multi-hour tour of Canada that some how ended up being between North Carolina and Colorado* For the record, I was not the one driving then!Yes, well the boundaries of Vermont, NH and Maine are quite close to the north; VT and NH sort of narrow in their shape.
(If you're not careful, you could even end up in Canada...)
Well, I guess the 1-95 does run through a lot of states...*Jane flashes back to her multi-hour tour of Canada that some how ended up being between North Carolina and Colorado* For the record, I was not the one driving then!
It's possible to "do" a number of New England states all in one trip, although really to get to know even one of them really well can take a lot time. Although I do admit to liking Montana a great deal, New England scores highly also...Same with Vermont and Maine.
Oh Montana mountains!!!! So gorgeous! It's possible to "do" a number of New England states all in one trip, although really to get to know even one of them really well can take a lot time. Although I do admit to liking Montana a great deal, New England scores highly also...
I guess I should also start a thread on Montana...Oh Montana mountains!!!! So gorgeous!
A versa different type of gorgeous than New England mountains, granted. They both have their appeal.
I was being silly. You bring that out in me! Where is everybody??? This forum seems pretty dead. It's worth a trip, anyhow! :)
I guess numbers go up and down.I was being silly. You bring that out in me! Where is everybody??? This forum seems pretty dead.
I guess numbers go up and down.
I think you would like New Hampshire - especially the rural parts with wide open spaces, the White Mountains, etc.
The Connecticut Valley runs along the boundaries of New Hampshire and Vermont, close to the White Mountains. Worth a visit! :)I'm sure I would too. I love the mountains, but I haven't been able to get to them in my area.
