Was it not Abram, whom came out of the land of Ur of the Chaldeans?
This verse in Gen14:13 is the first time the word Hebrew appears in the Bible and it shows that after the LORD called Abram to separate himself from his fleshly father's house(sound familiar?) and who would later be called by a new name of Abr-AH(breath of life or made alive)-am & Sarai to Sar-AH(breath of life or made alive) and would be the first Hebrew as in God's people.
Gen 14:13
13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eschol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.
KJV
So, if Abram was not called a Hebrew until after he started obeying the Voice of God and began to move forward to separate himself from his fleshly family(meaning to put away the things we have learned in our earthly father's house) to begin to obey the LORD to find the path to his Promised land which is the land of Canaan that the LORD had promised to give him. So, why do we not understand that those who are in Christ are of the Seed of Abraham and heirs of the Promised land rather Jew or Gentile when we separate ourselves from our fleshly families who reject Christ and walk by Faith to take God at His Word?
For it is the Word that says that those of the flesh are not the children of the Promise, but in Isaac shall your seed be called.
Rom 9:6-10
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are NOT the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;
KJV
Gal 4:24-31
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out{NOT HATE, BUT BRING THEM INTO THE COVENANT OF THE FREE WOMAN TO SAVE THEM} the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
KJV

Gen 11:31-12:4
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

Genesis 12
12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
KJV
Neh 9:7-8
7 Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;
8 And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:

the same as HSN5676; Eber, the name of two patriarchs and four Israelites:
KJV--Eber, Heber.

Original Strong's Ref. #5676
Romanized `eber
Pronounced ay'-ber
from HSN5674; properly, a region across; but used only adverbially (with or without a preposition) on the opposite side (especially of the Jordan; ususally meaning the east):
KJV--X against, beyond, by, X from, over, passage, quarter, (other, this) side, straight.

Original Strong's Ref. # 5674
Romanized `abar
Pronounced aw-bar'
a primitive root; to cross over; used very widely of any transition (literal or figurative; transitive, intransitive, intensive, causative); specifically, to cover (in copulation):

Abram was the first to "cross over" (walking by faith) and his name was changed to Abraham, ("the `Ibriy-Hebrew").
Every true Hebrew will Crossover, (in his or her own appointed times) by the Way of the Passover, (Lamb of YHWH).

Absolutely, that is what the cross-over is all about to die to our flesh being raised from the dead unto life!

My Bible calls Abraham the first Hebrew who came from Ur the land of the Chaldeans and he is the father of many nations and who the promised seed should come down through Isaac. And Eber was never called a Hebrew because you only become a Hebrew after God calls you to follow Him and you do it by faith. Hebrews are the people of God. And the fact that Abram was not called a Jew or a Hebrew at his natural birth but Became a people for God shows me that God is NO respecter of persons and when you have a heart for God you are now a spiritual Jew and heirs to the promises of God along with the believing natural Jews.

I have a remedy for you, just don't read my posts if you can not stand the heat for a child of God should love the truth, no matter how many times they hear it. For faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God. It helps to shed some of that fat we accumulate in our flesh man : )
Heb 1:7
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
KJV

And you are forgiven for you obviously do not know what you say

Abraham was the first to be called a Hebrew in WRITTEN SCRIPTURE (Gen.14:13).

That does NOT mean it had anything to do with his living in Ur, nor any idea that he was the very first... Hebrew!

Smith Bible Dictionary

He'brew

This word first occurs as given to Abram by the Canaanites, (Genesis 4:13
) because he had crossed the Euphrates. The name is also derived from
Eber, "beyond, on the other side," Abraham and his posterity being
called Hebrews in order to express a distinction between the races east
and west of the Euphrates. It may also be derived from Heber , one of the ancestors of Abraham. ( Genesis 10:24

Do you not understand allegories in the Bible? The Word of God calls Abram the first Hebrew because the name Hebrew means one who has crossed over and that is what we do when we begin to know God by abiding in Christ, we cross over from death to spiritual life by going through the LIVING WATER.

This shows that Abram, who the promise was to, was NOT called a Hebrew before he began to follow the voice of God by faith, but came out of a Gentile nation .... just as many in the body of Christ who are the new covenant Israel were also Gentiles, but now they too are grafted into the Root of Jesse and called Hebrews being of the seed of our father Abraham. For it is not those born of the flesh, rather called a Jew or a Gentile, who are the children of God and that the promise is for. It is for those who are Born again by the Promised Seed who is Christ

"Hebrew" is the anglicized form of the Hebrew word 'ibri, which comes from the root word ayin-bet-resh, "to cross or pass over."

That is who anyone who is accepted by the Lord are called for they too have passed over/CROSS over to the other side of LIFE by being washed in the water of the Word.

SMITH'S BIBLE DICTIONARY:
"The name is also derived from Eber, "beyond, on the other side,"

Eber was an ANCESTOR of Abraham, long before Abraham passed over into the lands of Canaan.
