    I am not making it a personal jab, i am illustrating a point. If you doubt that she was a true believer, than we can equally doubt you, or me, or everyone. That’s why I asked if you were joking?

    I was only joking... That part was a jab at the thread on tithing... ;)

    Perhaps it would be safer for us all if we only communicated our views with animations?

    Um..."Out of want"? Mother Teresa, like Oprah, had control of millions of dollars. The fact that she refused to allievate suffering, when it was indeed within her power, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I've witnessed atheists with more compassion. And while I agree only God knows for sure...He also said you'll know mine by their fruits.

    She had a different view of suffering. Her standards do not meet the Western standards of care. She was not American. She was also dealing with a population that has a different view of suffering. I think it is difficult to make judgments about her on this subject because we do not understand her POV. That being said, I agree with you - I have also met atheists that have a more compassionate view of suffering.

    I think her point of view is well documented. She believed that suffering drew one closer to Christ, to the point of letting her patients scream in agony as they dug maggots out of their open wounds without the benefit of pain killers, even when she had access to million$. When you say you have met athiests with more compassion, what you're really saying is you've met athiests with more of Christ in them than Mother Teresa. What does "HS sanctifying love, practiced through service towards others" by inflicting innecessary pain on them for the sake of one's doctrine change one's heart into? A sadist?

    So would you rather she left them with no care at all? It seems to me she was doing a service, rather than a disservice, restoring health and preserving life.

    I think Mother Teresa was a very kind hearted woman whose relationship with God is unclear to me.

    During my studies I came across this and thought it to be relevant.
    2 Timothy 2:11-13

    For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
    12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
    If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
    13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
    I have never heard she denied Him, only that her faith was challenged.
