I know that many prophecy experts are teaching that the 3rd Temple will be built by the Antichrist. (Which is deeply offensive to me as a Jewish believer.) It is also is contrary to scripture making such teaching a gross heresy. Even King David was forbidden to build the 1st Temple because he was a warrior. Do you think that God would give such an honor to the Antichrist?!! Some don't go so far and only teach that the Temple will be built with the Antichrist's permission or blessing by unbelieving Jews as a result of the 7 year peace treaty, which again, is completely unsupported by scripture. Many use Daniel 9:27 as the foundation for their opinion. "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." Daniel 9:27This verse says nothing about the building of the temple or the reinstatement of the sacrificial system. It only mentions the Antichrist's causing them to cease. Why do people make such conclusions? God knows. Especially since God's word is clear. The Messiah and only the Messiah can build the 3rd and final temple in Jerusalem. What does scripture have to say on the issue?Let's begin at the beginning.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.2 Samuel 7:13And 1 Chronicle 17:11-1 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. Then there is Zech 6:11-15Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; 12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: 13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God. And also Zech 1:1616 Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. Zechariah the prophet, Joshua (another form of the name Jesus or Yeshua) the high priest and Zerubbabel the prince are a 3 in 1 type of Christ the Prophet/Priest/King.Zerubbabel, an ancestor of Christ gathered the exiles out of Babylon and built the 2nd temple. Christ will gather his elect out of Babylon the Great and build the 3rd Temple. "In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts." Haggai 2:23There is also Acts 15:16 to consider. It doesn't specifically mention the Temple but taken together with the previous verses it can be said to support my doctrine.Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: Of couse David never built a Temple, but he did buy the land (threshing floor) and provide the money and materials for Solomon's Temple.Acts 15:16 is from Amos 9:11 which says-"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Then the question becomes "when" will the Temple be built, because it must be standing before the Antichrist can defile it mid-trib.Some say that a temple will be built and destroyed before the return of Christ which is not supported by scripture, in fact again, such teaching is contrary to scripture. One, no such destruction of a false temple is found in scripture, and the temple that the Antichrist defiles is called the "Temple of God" several times.Rev 11:1-21 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. So here the temple is called the "temple of God" and God signifies that it is His Temple by having John measure it, as He does elsewhere in the Bible (Ezekiel 40-47). This also shows that it is not built by unbelieving Jews.Also-2 Thes 2:4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.Again the temple is clearly called the "Temple of God".----------------------------------------------------------------------------Some are teaching that this temple will be destroyed and Christ will build "his own", but Ezekiel describes the millenniel temple, and its defilement by rebel levites in great detail in the 40-47th chapters. The defilement is found in Ezekiel 44:6-14.6 And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations, 7 In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations. 8 And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves. 9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. 10 And the Levites that are gone away far from me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. 11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them. 12 Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity. 13 And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed. So we can know that the temple described in Ezekiel is the same one standing in Jerusalem during the tribulation.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Some have argued that the temple will be guilt next to the Dome of the Rock and use Ezekiel 42:20 for their argument.Ezekiel 42:20 He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place. The word, translated as "profane" in the King James Bible is better translated as "common, of unsanctified". This can be found in the NKJV translation.Ezekiel 42:20 He measured it on the four sides; it had a wall all around, five hundred cubits long and five hundred wide, to separate the holy areas from the common. So this verse in no way is describing a pagan temple or mosque on the mount.Remember the Man of Sin will defile the "Holy place" and "stand where he ought not". The Holy place is the rock under the current "foul golden pimple" on the temple mount, the dome of the rock; proving that for the temple to be built, the dome must be destroyed. Neither God nor the muslims would agree to such a comprimise. Also used for this argument is Rev 11:2 2 "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months"All of Israel's previous temples had outer courts where gentiles could come and go no further. This in no way describes a pagan temple or mosque, side by side with the Temple of God. The very notion that the Living God of Israel would share his holy mountain with a pagan temple is ludicrous.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've heard many teach that the temple must be built after or because of the Antichrist's peace deal, because how else can Israel do it with the dome of the rock and her enemies all around? I say by God's own hand will Israel build the temple. The answer lies in the war of Ezekiel 38. With Gog and his muslim horde so soundly defeated, Israel's enemies will finally have had enough. What about Al Aksa and the dome of the rock? The war of Gog Magog is culminated by a great earthquake in Israel, with "every wall falling to the ground".Ezekiel 38:18-2018 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground Perhaps this is God's way of cleansing the temple mount. With Islam so defeated and the mount cleared by God's own hand with an earthquake, the Messiah can build the Temple with the help of gentile christians from all over the world. How often have I heard the shameful phrase "the Jews will build their Temple". The Temple will be Messiah's Temple. If you are a Gentile Christian it is your Temple too. Messiah Yahshua will rule and reign in that temple. So why say "their" temple? But you may ask doesn't this mean that Christ will be on earth to build the temple pre-trib? We have been taught the Christ won't be on earth until after the great tribulation!"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Matthew 24:44So I say, if what you believe is contrary to scripture, change what you believe, for you can't change God's word.Check out the following link for the story of a failed attempt to rebuild the temple, an attempt that God powerfully stopped.http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid...ticle%2FPrinter
