Here is one Scripture: And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive* (Mt 13:14)

    *Strong's Concordance (3708)
horaó: to see, perceive, attend to
    Original Word: ὁράω
    Part of Speech: Verb
    Transliteration: horaó
    Phonetic Spelling: (hor-ah'-o)
Definition: to see, perceive, attend to
Usage: I see, look upon, experience, perceive, discern, beware.

There are many other Scriptures with this word, translated differently, but meaning the same thing.

its a spiritual birth the spirit quickens makes us alive in Christ born again we become as new born babes. dependent on the Milk of the word .the spirit is like the wind you cant see it but can see the results . we become a new creation in Christ..old things past away all things become new .. sometime after that we start listening to man and then things get real complicated .better experienced than talked about

Why Did Jesus Say You Must Be Born Again?

In context a man MUST be Born Again if that man desires to have Forever Life, with God, in Gods Kingdom.

Why? Because Gods Kingdom is a Kingdom that will inhabit spiritual men, not carnal men.

    God Bless,

    εἴδω
    eidō
    i'-do
A primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent, G3700 and G3708; properly to see (literally or figuratively); by implication (in the perfect only) to know: - be aware, behold, X can (+ not tell), consider, (have) known (-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wist, wot. Compare G3700.

His carnal eyes were open...without the ability to see in the Spirit. So really his eyes were spiritually closed after he sinned. He died spiritually in that moment.

    John 1:12-13 KJV
[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

It’s very clear what the problem is. When an individuals faith rest in men and not solely in Christ alone there is no rebirth! This is why Paul explained. “I’m glad I baptized none of you!!! He explains I was not crusified for you!!! I am nothing!!! Christ is all in all!

    1 Corinthians 1:12-17 KJV
[12] Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. [13] Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? [14] I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; [15] Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. [16] And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. [17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

o just got through earlier posting something like this on a 11 page discussion (cough cough ) faith vs works RE: James on another forum this was about the most intelligent post i could agree with

it is quite confusing - these man-made terms get convoluted and disputed -

imo if we just read scripture and then discuss how to DO it / apply it to daily living we would be a lot better off

why do we dispute theory anyway? - if we are not trying to live it daily what good are theories to us?

so this thread is about faith without works - we could discuss how to put our faith to work to make many lives better - our lives and other people's lives - really what good is our faith if we are not going to use it consistently to see God's will be done on earth?

imo the more we use our faith to grow in Christ and do the things God tells us to do the more interesting we become - people want to know about God because they see Him in action in our own lives - we become infectious for God

Oh, How He Works! It's all about faith IMO...and boy will He ever give you opportunities to grow it, so be prepared if you pray for them, lol! "Even though He slay me..."
