"Why do human beings sin?"
The Apostle Paul indicates that there are two things at work within a non-believer to make him sin. The first is his sinful passions -- sometimes called "the sin nature."
"Why do human beings sin?"
The second thing that pushes us toward sin is, ironically, the Law itself. Rebellion against the Law produces what the Bible calls "sin."

The Law shows us that we cannot measure up to God's standards of right and wrong. We cannot justify ourselves.

That's why all men need the redemption from the curse of the Law that Jesus purchased for us by His death on the cross.

There is no other way for man to enter heaven.

Hal Lindsey! the Hal Lindsey?

anyways, it goes back to the garden, and just what was man made for and what was the original life "lost"

this tells us what life was lost:

Luk 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

hence all the sons of man were to receive the same life, and that is what was lost. God placed Adam in the garden then gave him commandment, which is God's Judgement which is Life. man is to execute God's Judgement which is Life.

so now mankind has God's place in the earth, and God isn't invited in His own place in the earth is He? hence another reason why Jesus had to come into the world as a son of man as other men do, to restore that place to the Father as the Son, in the Presence of God (the Holy Spirit).

so the sons of man are born into the world is born into sin, a separation from God in the flesh by the will of the flesh. unless they are born into the Spirit by the will of the Spirit, and yes I presume you've heard all of this.

note that animals have no issues with their Creator nor qualms but man does, because man is to be God's agents in the earth just as angel are His agents in Heaven. doing His will as He speaks. animals aren't created for that duty, but mankind is. hence human nature is to sin, and God's nature is to Righteousness. without being born of the Spirit of God one cannot manifest God's nature which what God made man for to be a child of God. and that which doesn't, is against God's will. sin.

He made man in His likeness and Image but that was lost after the tree, until Jesus restored it.
