The tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk has left many asking why such evil is allowed to happen. But the truth is, this world has always hated the light. The news of Charlie Kirk’s shooting hit many of us with disbelief and grief. Whether or not you agreed with him on every issue, it is safe to say that he was not one to mince words. He spoke openly about his faith and boldly stood up for biblical values in a culture that hates them. His murder is a tragic reminder that there is a price for living boldly for the truth.

Jesus said, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you” (John 15:18). From the start, God’s people faced opposition. Abel was killed by his brother because his life was righteous and his brother’s was not (Genesis 4:8). God’s prophets were persecuted and killed for calling people back to Him (Matthew 23:37). Stephen was the first Christian martyr and he was stoned to death for preaching the gospel of Christ (Acts 7:59–60). Above all, Jesus was crucified, not for doing evil, but for revealing the evil in men’s hearts (John 3:19).

Charlie Kirk’s death is another reminder that this world still hates the things of God. When someone is unashamed to speak about Christ and refuse to conform to the world’s pressure, the world pushes back. Scripture has never called us to cultural conformity, to keep our heads down, and whisper about our faith in hushed tones. In fact, Paul prayed for boldness, that God would “give utterance” and that he “might open his mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:19).

Events like these should not cause us to pull back in fear, but to live more boldly for Jesus. The early church, when threatened, did not pray for protection, but for boldness: “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word” (Acts 4:29).

We never know what tomorrow may bring, but we do know what Christ has promised: “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” (Revelation 2:10). God never forgets those who stand for Him.

So let this be a moment of self-examination for us all. Are we living boldly for the gospel, or are we compromising in order to keep the peace? Are we standing up for truth, even when it costs us? The world can silence one voice, but it cannot silence the Word of God. “Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).

May Charlie Kirk’s life and death be a reminder to us all that boldness has a cost, but Jesus Christ is worth it. Let us go forward in courage, with our hope fixed on the risen Lord who has already won the victory.

I started to watch Charlie Kirk's memorial service late afternoon. It was being televised on a local channel KCOP in Los Angeles.

After seeing only about 15 minutes of the service.... suddenly there was a travel program about growing coffee in Nicaragua!!! I checked to make sure the channel didn't jump to another station....but no, they had stopped broadcasting the memorial service!!!

I think someone at the station must have been prejudiced against Charlie. It just shows what we are dealing with in our country.

From here it looks like there might be changes coming our way.
We'll see.
How about a law prohibiting persons from calling those in government names that are very detrimental...like fascist or nazi.

Or would that be authoritarian??

We have seen so much hatred evolve from the liberals in the last few years it is ridiculous. Liberal democrats are actually turning communist. This alone shows the rise of hatred towards Christians.
Agreed.
My fear is that in order to make some changes that are really necessary,,,
we might turn to some kind of authoritarian govt.
This would not be good either....
but how else to combat this craziness that is going on?
How else to stop all this hatred?
Some on these Forums state that we should not concern ourselves because this is not our Kingdom....
but we DO live here and have children and grandchildren to whom we will leave this place.
We don't know when the end is....we shouldn't be praying for the end in order to solve our problems.

The brainwashed children are now those in power....
Did we not see this happening a couple of decades ago??

I agree we need to stand against evil and also vote as Christians.

Too much craziness going on...why let the children suffer by us keeping silent.

We were silent in the past....
and it got us here.

Including the churches....
they sat by and listened to all the garbage being spewed out on radio, TV, in our schools.

Including US...
we wanted to be nice and let the other side have their say.
It sounded so innocent .... so logical ...
behind it were evil ideas/ideals at work.

Our country was ruined from within....

The brainwashed children are now those in power....
I agree that the brainwashed children are now trying to gain the power.

Their cup of hatred has overflowed, and a lot of it is directed at Christians. But more authoritarian government is not going to fix that, it will just replace one evil with another. The Bible tells us the problem is man’s heart: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9). That’s why we have the brainwashed fighting to regain power now: sin has been running rampant for decades.

I do believe we should think about the world we leave to our children and grandchildren. But that doesn’t mean turning to an oversized, out-of-control government that acts like a beast and tries to control everything. It means raising them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, teaching them to stand on His truth: “Train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). And we don’t pray for the return of Christ just to escape these problems. We pray for the patience and grace to remain faithful in the meantime, to be lights in this dark culture (Matthew 5:14–16).

So how do we fight this insanity? Not with fear and not with authoritarianism but with the gospel. Only Christ changes hearts. “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).

We must vote for leaders who are closest to God’s truth, not the ones pushing ungodliness, for “when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (Proverbs 29:2). That can restrain evil policies for a season. But no politician can repair the human heart. “Put not your trust in princes” (Psalm 146:3). Elections can limit evil, but only the gospel can defeat it.

The Bible is clear that this world isn’t going to keep getting better, it’s going to get worse until Christ returns. “Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13, ESV). “Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matt. 24:12).

That doesn’t mean we throw up our hands and quit. We still stand for truth, raise godly families, and shine light in the darkness (Philippians 2:15). But we do it knowing the world isn’t headed toward utopia, it’s headed toward judgment, and then the return of the Lord.

I agree and you're very eloquent with words.

But the voting idea has not worked very well.
The brainwashed children of yesterday ARE in power....

And I agree that an authoritarian govt is not the answer....
but then what is?

I fear that the leftist mindset will make necessary a very controlling government.

Children are not being raised with the knowledge of God and with good moral values.
They are being allowed to just grow...which is different than being raised.
I see it all around me and I live here, which is about 20 years behind the states....
so I dread to think what's going on over there.

To stop some of the madness....like teaching our children genderism, which has caused some of them to question their sex....
the President singed Exec orders. And those orders did turn the tide...it did stop some of the madness which was running rampant.
So maybe that IS what is going to be needed? (much to my chagrin).

Charlie's murder backfired. Requests for 54,000 new chapters of Turning Point.
They are hearing from people in all sorts of foreign countries.

Brief video.

I don't know this guy very well, but I don't think people hate the word of God, But the self expressed by many so-called Christians is not something expressed by Jesus Christ and the Gospel, and is too much secularized, Like politics wraps itself in faith in order to win votes, These things combine to make people hate " truth ". But it's not truth, it's mundane.

I don't think you understand our situation in the USA since you live in China.

Most universities here are extremely liberal with liberal and even Marxists professors indoctrinating the students. Some professors even love to destroy a Christian's faith...if they find a Christian in their class.

Most students in the universities are secular (not Christians) and fall in line with far left causes.

Charlie Kirk was a wonderful Christian and he had an organization called Turning Point. Charlie would go to universities and respectfully debate the leftists. The leftists tell many lies about Charlie Kirk but he was always respectful and even kind to his debating opponents.

Short clip.

I think I have a decent understanding of what’s happening in the United States, since news about the U.S. is frequently reported here. After all, China and the U.S. are two major competitors, so there’s a lot of mutual attention between the two.

The U.S. may disparage China, while China reports on the realities of the U.S. (With all due respect, China is not disparaging the U.S. but rather reporting the facts.)

I am familiar with Marxism, as I was born in China. Marxists are materialists and oppose all religious forms of idealism.

But what you might not know is that during the period when Jesus’ return was a topic of discussion, some Marxists actually showed a shift in attitude.

A documentary about Jesus Christ was broadcast on television, and friendly gestures were made toward Christian organizations in China, with the hope that Christianity would contribute value to economic development and construction. (I find this news particularly interesting because I genuinely don’t understand how Christianity can demonstrate value in business endeavors.)

Then, when relations between the U.S. and China deteriorated, people were quick to blame Christians. This is because the Western world is often seen as representing Christianity, and all its actions and behaviors are attributed to Christianity. The West often positions itself as acting on behalf of Christianity, including the joint actions of the U.S. and Israel, as if to remind the world, "We speak for God." Is that really the case?

Do you have any idea how damaging this is to Christianity in China?

The government shut down Christian websites, removed Bible apps from app stores, and banned Christian-related posts on major microblogging platforms.

So I don't think people hate the word of God, But the self expressed by many so-called Christians is not something expressed by Jesus Christ and the Gospel, and is too much secularized, Like politics wraps itself in faith in order to win votes, These things combine to make people hate " truth ". But it's not truth, it's mundane.

Charlie Kirk's death May the case,
People's antipathy to Christianity's so-called " truth " manifests itself in Christians.

I'm not here to judge anyone, I'm just expressing my observations and my conclusions.
