Biblical Training is a website with free online Bible classes that teach everything from Introduction to New Believers to seminary-level instruction. All at no cost. It's a wonderful service for Christians. It was the first Christian instruction I turned to after my conversion.

The first class "Life is a Journey", taught by Bill Mounce, explains the soul of Christianity- ultimately what it's about at a high-level. It was life-changing for me. It distilled what it means to be a believer of Christ in such a clear way.

I think back to trying to learn the Bible in Catholic High School- and nothing in my 4 years taking religious classes every year there came close to how clearly I understood the Christian faith after "Life is a Journey". (In HS, we dove straight into the Bible without having a framework of what the religion was about. We were left with many disconnected details like puzzle pieces scattered on the table.)

I feel as though every new believer should begin with something like this Biblical Training class which gives us an outline of what the Christian faith means and how it is expressed in our lives.

I may do a longer blog post on Biblical Training, but for now I wanted to share my notes from the "Life is a Journey" class (which I highly recommend) on what a Christian believer must do. I have pages and pages of notes but here I wanted to share my key distillations from the course.

A good Christian MUST:
  • Believe Jesus is who He says He was, did what He said He did.

  • Listen carefully to Holy Spirit- obey, when convicted- admit sin, do what you're encouraged to do.

  • Know God's word- so you understand how He wants us to be.

  • Turn Life and Will over to God.

Also: pray regularly, repent sins, follow commandments, keep thoughts clean.
