If you study Galatians 3 and Romans 4 by Apostle Paul, you should come to understand that the Promise by Faith first given to Abraham was always first, before the birth of the children of Israel, and before God giving the law through Moses about 430 later. That Promise by Faith is The Gospel of Jesus Christ. In John 8:56, Jesus said Abraham rejoiced to see His day, he saw it and was glad. By that Jesus revealed that The Gospel was first preached to Abraham.
And in Hebrews 7, it is revealed that Jesus was the Old Testament Melchizedek that met Abraham and blessed him, and offered Abraham "bread and wine". That reveals that Lord Jesus knew and spoke with Abraham, personally. This is revealed to an even greater extent in Genesis 18 when it is understood that one of the "three men" that appeared to Abraham at his tent door, was our Lord Jesus Christ back in that Old Testament time, and He was standing there with Abraham with Abraham's petitioning to not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if there be righteous men in it.
Why is all that important to us who have believed The Gospel of Jesus Christ?
The reason that is important to us a Christians, is because The Gospel Faith was always the first principle among God's chosen elect. And it involves God's Birthright Blessings that He first gave through His servant Abraham. And Apostle Paul said this regarding Abraham's Faith and those promises blessings...
Gal 3:6-9
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, "In thee shall all nations be blessed."
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
KJV
Gal 3:13-14
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, "Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
KJV
Gal 3:26-29
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
KJV
Now I want to stress that "... and heirs according to the promise" which Apostle Paul said there. That literally means all those who believe the Promise by Faith, i.e., The Gospel of Jesus Christ, like Abraham did, are "heirs according to the promise". It means we Gentiles inherit 'with'... faithful Abraham, and are counted as Abraham's children.
Heirs of what brethren? Heirs of the Promise. Faith on God's Promise The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what brings us into God's Blessings to Abraham. There's other things God promised Abraham that are involved, like the land inheritance, plenty of grain and wine, great military strength, the best land resources on earth, and a seed as many as the stars and sands of the sea. God also promised a king line over His people, with Christ eventually coming to inherit David's earthly throne (Luke 1:32). And those who remain faithful all the way to the end, Jesus promised to make priests and kings, and will reign with Him in His future kingdom of the world to come.
Just how... has all this come about, because in case you didn't know, those promised blessings by God are no longer in the holy land today among the orthodox unbelieving Jews. We are constantly being bombarded with falsehoods as if God's Promise by Faith and its associated Blessings were given through Abraham, finally inherited by Ephraim and Manasseh, are still with the unbelieving Jews, but that simply is not true. The blessings are indeed still with Ephraim and Manasseh today, which is also where The Gospel of Jesus Christ went to, which is what God's Birthright is about (1 Chronicles 5).
We all have heard about the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, how God scattered them out of the holy lands first because of their falling away from Him and instead doing idol worship. That story begins in 1 Kings 11 where God gave Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim to be king over Israel, over the ten tribes that dwelt in the northern lands of old Israel. Solomon's son Rehoboam of the house of David remained as king of Judah in the southern kingdom at Jerusalem. Thus old Israel was split into two separate kingdoms by God in that time.
