Ecclesiastes chapter 3 tells us there is a time for everything and a season for every activity, including war. As a citizen of the U.S., a veteran of its armed forces, and most importantly a Christian I have to ask, is there a time for rebellion? My country was born from it, we celebrate it, and even view it as a providence of God. Some may see these times as a reason for another uprising. Yet the truth is, wars brought about for the purpose civil or revolutionary reform are rebellious. Rebellion to our earthly authority is displaying disobedience to God. Our war for independence was as much against the crown and authority of God as it was against King George.
