Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV says: "Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.". While this sounds like a command, it is a lot more than that; it is a challenge for all who call themselves "children of God." The first verse says that we are to follow the example of the One we call "Father". Although man sinned against God and deserved punishment, He found a way to restore the lost relationship by sacrificing Himself for us. The question, then, becomes "What are we willing to sacrifice to save the relationships we hold dear most? After all, God so loved that He gave for us.
