Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV says: "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." While this sounds as a command, it is a lot more than that; it is a challenge for all who call themselves "children of God". The first verse encourages us to follow the example of the One who is our Father. Although man sinned against God, He found a way to restore the relationship which once was lost by sacrificing what He had best. The question, then, is "What would you be willing to do to save a relationship that you hold dear most? How far would you go to show the one(s) you love forgiveness? Would you be willing to sacrifice for them?" After all, God so loved us that He sacrificed.
