Receiving Gifts of the Spirit (For Those Genuinely Seeking)

This is the set Scriptural steps to receive the gifts of the Spirit that are available to Christian believers today. There is no Scriptural evidence that these gifts were planned by God to cease after the Apostolic Age. This article is not for those with a Cessational belief, but for those who believe that the gifts are available for them today, and are seeking assistance to be equipped and enabled to manifest them as the Lord wills. The steps that I will outline came as the result of seeking the Lord after seeing abortive attempts at altar calls by groups gathering around a seeker, half saying, "Hold on brother", and the other half saying, "Let go brother!" When I put the steps into practice for a seeker, I found, especially when the person was seeking the gift of tongues, that they started speaking their own unique and expressive language, and they knew beyond doubt that it was the Holy Spirit who was flowing out of them. I believe that when a person goes through the Scriptural steps, they cannot receive a counterfeit because God will give them exactly what they ask for (Matthew 7:11; Luke 11:13).
