King of the Ages.

`Now unto the King eternal (of the ages), immortal (incorruptible), invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever (unto the ages of the ages) and ever.` (1 Tim. 1: 17 Newberry margin).

The apostle Paul penned these words, for he relates to the One who stopped Him as it were in his tracks. And then the revolutionary change that took place in his life as God saved this `chief of sinners.` Paul realised that this One was none other than the King of the centuries.

With His almighty authority this King shapes all history, and supervises all national and personal activities. He is likewise King of the future, whose prescient eye enables Him to plan well ahead of time.

In His administration He is directing, designing and determining the course of events in this world.

He is the framer of the laws of the Universe, the One who fashions the ages, who forms the stage and sphere for the enactments of life, and the very lives of those who play a part in this great drama.

`”I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end,” says the Lord, “who was and who is and who is to come, the Almighty.”` (Rev. 1: 8)

This King is the Commencer and Consummator of all revelation as the Alpha and Omega.

He is the Originator and Objective of all creation as the Beginning and the Ending.

And He is the Perfector of all administration as the One which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Do we realise there is a King at the center of this great universe, who in His mystic being and majesty knows and loves and cares constantly for our well-being and future welfare?

Things may seem trivial at times, are yet in the line of a train of events, administered by a Controller who has all power in heaven and on earth, directing everything toward the achievement of an eternal purpose.

Saul of Tarsus, (Paul) realised that he was included in the thought and plan of this overseeing and overruling omnipotent King and that his life was being carefully planned.

Looking down through the ages we can see the lives of great people of faith and how this King has led and guided them in their journey of trust in Him. And we are part of that too.
