Many Christians are unaware of just how important the study of Chronology is in relationship to prophecy, especially in the study of the book of Revelation, and as such have no idea of where precisely they are on the stream of time or of impending events. Bible Chronology not only confirms that we are living in “the time of the end”, when knowledge would increase and the wise would understand, but that likewise we have reached the “end of the age” and the harvest the time of separating the wheat from the tares, the true Christian from the nominal.

It is not the Scriptures which leave us in the dark in regards to these things it’s our own lack of interest, lethargy (Luke warmness) for the Lord and his word which hinders us from seeing these things. Too many Christians have forgotten thatALL scripture (which includes not only the Gospels and the Epistles of the Lord and the Apostles, but likewise chronology and prophecy)… is profitable that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly furnished…” (2 Tim 3:17)

Alas how many can honestly say they arethoroughly furnishedat this time?

If we believe that God is what his name implies, the self-existing One, the all-powerful, all-wise, all-just and all-loving Creator, and if we believe that he is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him, the effect will be that we will want to seek him—to seek to know and to understand his Word (all of it… to best of our ability); and that knowing and understanding it, we will have confidence in it; and that having confidence in it, we will be able to direct our course accordingly.

The True Bible Chronology

There are 44 links in the True Bible Chronology which can be found in the Scriptures, which if properly followed will attest to the fact that from the creation of Adam to the close of the seventy years of desolation to land of Israel, in the first year of Cyrus 536 B.C. a total of 3592 years elapsed, from this point to A.D. 1 another 536 years elapsed bringing the total to 4128 years since Adam’s creation. Add to this another 1872 years and you will have reached 6000 years from the creation of Adam.

Prophecies baring on the restitution of all things, most importantly that of the Jubilee point to 1874 A.D. implying that 6000 years previously the need for restitution first entered history, i.e. the fall of Adam and the beginning of the Seventh Creative Day with its six parts of sin and death and it’s one part of rest and restitution accomplished by the sending of Jesus (our Lord’s Second Advent) Acts 3:19-21.

The two year difference between genealogy (computed from Adam’s creation near the end of the Sixth Creative Day, 1872 A.D.), and prophecies of restoration beginning in 1874 A.D. prove how long Adam was in Eden before his fall. Keep in mind that the 6000 years of laboring under the yoke of sin began with Adam’s fall, NOT with his creation.

Those who chose willingly to remain in ignorance to where precisely they reside on the stream of time at this time, judging it to be of little importance are unprepared and as such have no excuse for their failing in the Day of Visitation (the Lord’s parousia), and in their being overtaken by the deceptions which are to accompany this period, the end of the age.

Chronology is the Key to unlocking Revelation

The day for a year, Bible chronology, is the key to understanding Revelation and to locating where in history, the various events mentioned are fulfilled. By using chronology as a guide, we are forced to keep ourselves from trying to read the fulfillment of Revelation as all future, or from trying to place it all in the past, as some do.

They either claim for example, as our Preterist friends do that the Roman Empire and its emperors fulfilled it, or taking the other stance (the Futurist viewpoint) they are still waiting for the great falling away to occur and the man of sin to be revealed. The True Bible Chronology as found in the Scriptures indicates that the fulfillment should cover the entire gospel age, from the beginning to the end, and not just at the start of the gospel age or at its end.

The general outline of Revelation, combined with the day for a year chronology, gives us an idea of where to look for the fulfillment of each feature. We know for example, six of the trumpets must have been blown prior to 1874 A.D., since that is where the seventh trumpet began to be blown. It should then be obvious, for the same reason, that the first six churches and seals, and trumpets, and the events described in them, must have happened, or at least started a major portion of their fulfillment, prior to 1874 A.D.
