In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
The heavens belong to the YHWH (Jehovah), but he has given the earth to all humanity. Psalms 115:16
Both families - in heaven and on earth, owes its name to (originates from) Jehovah. Ephesians 3:14, 15
God's will and purpose thus is to have a one united universal family - a family in heaven, and a family on earth.
Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Ephesians 1:9, 10
9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment - to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. (Colossians 1:19, 20)
What a beautiful verse!
God made this mystery known in the first century. Romans 16:25, 26
Since this is God's purpose, from the beginning, why was there a need to send his only begotten son, to bring unity to (bring together) all things in heaven and on earth under Christ?
A rebellious son did not stand fast in the truth.
Jesus said... "the devil... was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks it is consistent with his character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44
The serpent seduced Eve by its cunning. 2 Corinthians 11:3 ; Genesis 3:1-5
This heavenly rebel son against his father (Devil means slanderer; Satan means opposer), set out to get the earthly family to also rebel against their father.
He succeeded.
1 Timothy 2:14 Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
Adam wilfully joined the Devil in his rebellion.
Satan was not satisfied with just two earthly family members on his side. His aim is to get all - even those in heaven. (Revelation 12:13)
Satan lied again by saying that people only serve God, for what God give them, but not because they love the father. Job 1:6-12 ; Job 2:1-6
Because of the rebellion of the first man Adam, all children born on earth were illegitimate children - alien to God. Deuteronomy 32:5; Ephesians 2:12; Ephesians 4:18; Collosians 1:21
God's love moved him to make a way for Adam's offspring to be united family members of his.
The ransom - God's greatest gift
Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned Romans 5:12
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:18, 19
So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21
We understand then why 'the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.' John 1:14
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

God's firstborn son was willing to pay the price to redeem the fallen human race that they could all be part of God's family. 1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Corinthians 7:23; Hebrews 9:12
It was a high price - precious blood. 1 Peter 1:18, 19
This sacrifice allows those who exercise faith to have everlasting life - to be in God's united family, for all eternity. Revelation 7; Revelation 21:3, 4
