GRACE, FAITH, & LOVE

Love covers a multitude of sin, but it doesn’t excuse the sins, because to simply excuse doesn’t correct the unrepentant, love covers by correction and then forgiveness is applied. After all what good is excusing someone just to watch them willfully and blindly do the same thing again, but once you inform, enlighten, and correct them, then forgive them and pray that what you’ve invested will bring the desire fruit of godly sorrow, repentance, and restoration.

Some suppose the perfect law of liberty does not have any imperatives, I have read the bible over years I have seen several instance through the new testament where the believer is told they must do something in their obedience to God, and can not see anywhere it says its okay to sin, I have however seen where the bible teaches us to be holy as our heaven father is holy. The power of Grace is the reality that we should not be under the dominion of sin or its influence, meaning in one sense we now posses the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, hence the power to resist and overcome sin.

This reasoning is not only sound doctrine, but also sound logic concerning the whole counsel of God concerning grace and our obedience to the perfect law of liberty if someone wants to call that legalism I believe they should re-examine their faith and doctrine. Grace is not a license to sin, but it is not a legalism that hinders us from enjoying the blessings of God concerning our wholesome preferences, hobbies, and diversity. But coming under Grace means coming under the rule and reign of God.

(21) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
(22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
(23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
(24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
(25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:21-25 KJV

Grace makes greater demands than the law, why? Because the law could never empower one to live their lives through the indwelling power of God, only Grace which is activated by faith which is an attribute of the infused love of Christ which caused us to realize our sinful condition and turn to God. Love is then the guiding light that demands that we part from the filthiness of flesh and spirit obey the word of God, to be doers of the word, not just those who acknowledge it, then turn and go our own way. Selah!

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
