"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
Knowing that everything is passing, it is good to know that certain things last forever. According to today's passage, one of those things is the Word of God, and this word is ample.
It tells you that He is your Creator, Redeemer and Father. It teaches you to be like the One you call Father. It gives hope through the promises. It reminds you that He loves you as you are and wants you to come back to him, leaving behind the life of sin, and focusing on the life you still have to live by faith.
One of the promises the you have through the word of God is eternal life. That is, if you confess Jesus as Lord, you will be saved. As John writes at one point, "whoever has the Son, has life; whoever does not have the Son, does not have eternal life."
God's word is eternal and it is for every day of our lives. It is good for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the devant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Have you read it lately?
