“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

It happens to me a lot that I lose my keys, for example, or my wallet, knowing where it was initially, but somehow overlooking it. As I start searching, the search soon turns into a desperate quest, and I even turn upside down places in the house which I know for a fact that I should have left intact. Then, after taking a break, I start thinking more carefully about where I saw it last, and in the end I remember where I left it.

Verse six in Isaiah 55 says “Seek the Lord while He may be found”. Can the Lord still be found today? I believe that He can still be found; the problem, however, is that sometimes we look for Him where we should know for a fact that He cannot be found, and then we say, “God, where are you?” If this is a sincere question, maybe it’s time to remember where you left Him and trace your steps back, and there are numerous promises which tell us that if we seek Him, we will find Him.
